Hi Jafula, you're talking about the 0.6 version, but what about the 0.5 ? we are all waiting for it for a long time now ?
any updates on it's potential release ?

thanks :)

Hi Jafula.

Firstly, thanks for this mod. I really think I couldn't have multiboxed with out it. There's just too many keypresses that would be required without your mod and I don't have the patience. 10k thanks for all the effort you've put in.

Secondly, since everyone asks for something....could you make a keybind option for "invite team"? I'm doing /jamba-group invite, which works great but making it a keybind available in the menu would be very nice.

Thirdly, an "i win" button would be handy for when the opposing faction messes with my boxing progress. 8)

Thanks again....

I downloaded 0.4f today, unzipped it to my wow/interface/addons folder as usual for addons.

When I get in the character screen I can see Jamba in the addon list

When I get in the game and type /jamba I get the default "Type '/help' for listing of a few commands" and nothing else.

Other addons are working, so I logged out, disabled all other addons except Jamba, made sure Load out of date addons was checked to enable, logged back in same issue.

Wondered if I had to be in party for it to work, but that didn't seem to help either.

I'm probably overlooking something simple, If this isn't the right place to ask for help, just point me to the right place.

TIA

This is the right place to ask for help. /jamba should work.

Goto to the main menu, choose interface (button), choose addons (tab at the top). Do you see a list of Jamba categories in the addon list (like Jamba, Jamba-Follow, Jamba-Quest, etc)?

If not, try moving your etf/interface/cache folders from the WoW directory and start afresh.

Let me know if you are still having trouble...

Jafula would you be able to make and strobe feature that allow me to have strobe every secound not in combat then and different setting that would allow me to stobe in combat every 3 sec.
this would greatly improve my Melee combats

Let me say that I LOVE Jamba... and have a hard time thinking about boxing without it... but I am having a MAJOR issue with my group... or I should say my "lack of group". Background wall-o-text:

My gaming machine is a 17" MacBook Pro, and I ran 3 instances of WoW using Expose to swap windows. Jamba worked flawlessly... at least the small portion that I configured for my setup... but [Alt] [Tab] (basically) was obviously LESS than ideal, so I installed WoW on my Vista partition.

I can still run 3 instances of WoW, and got GameCommanderPro for my MB software (still testing it in Bootcamp)... but Jamba won't let me group up. When I say it won't let me group up... I mean with the addon enabled, I can NOT STAY IN GROUP AT ALL! I tried the /command, and even tried manually, but the alts ALWAYS dropped group. As soon as I disabled Jamba, they grouped up fine.

Example: When I type /inv <alt toon 1> It reads like this in my chat-window:

You have invited <alt toon 1> to your group
<alt toon 1> has joined the group
Looting set to Free for All
<alt toon 1> has left the group
This all happens within nano-seconds, because Jamba is accepting the invite, and then changing the Loot, and then forcing the alt to drop.

I checked every setting that I could find, and I can't seem to disable this feature. What am I missing (and yes, I think it is a problem on MY end... but I can't figure out what is wrong.)

Ok, a keybind for invite and disband will be added soon.

Oh, how I wish for an "I Win" button. http://thottbot.com/?i=40314

Sure, I'll add an extra option for seconds between strobes in combat for you.

Don't panic - there will be a new download of Jamba (0.4g) for the patch soon.

1) Make sure you are using Jamba 0.4f or later.

2) You may have to clean out all the Jamba.lua files from your WTF folders.

3) If that still doesn't work, move your interface, wtf and cache folders and start over.

Let me know if you are still having trouble after this.

I know this error I'm getting is probably because of the patch, but when I'm using Jamba anytime I do a quest a whole bunch of Lua errors pop up involving the JambaQuest Module and I was just wondering if there was anyway I could fix it, I do have Jamba Version 0.4f. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Also I have cleaned out my Jamba.lua files and I even deleted the Wtf folder, but still getting the same errors

I know there is a problem with the patch and the Jamba Quest window that pops up with the WoW Quest Log. There might be others; I'll get on to it asap.

I have an issue, after the patch where I would pick the quest, and one of my slaves will also pick the same quest from npcs, but 3 other will do nothing, also one of the slaves isn't showing her experience on masters display(and that's the only slave that accepts the quest too)

After messing around with this for few hours i still couldn't find the solution, its like one client doesn't send any communication to others, and also others don't follow/accept the quests/rewards from master at all. The strange part is, that even if i ran slaves from different directories and hard drives, it still wouldn't work. It works just fine when talking to city guards...and picking random whisper options.
You can see it here, also You can see that the toon that doesn't communicate with jamba doesnt give quest updates either:/

trying to abandon quest with jamba gives me this lua error:

Thanks for the report. I've been running through the quest code and update the code to be compatible with the changes made to the API. Still going....

Jamba Quest is completely broken until I bring out a new version. Will keep you all posted.

jaf,

Should I be able to pull a target by clicking on the health bar displayed on jamba. If not, how hard would it be to implement this?
Since we are in yet another raid size battleground, and ques ect.. im using jamba to know when to heal my alts lol. I can click on the little portrait but its kind of small and would love to click on the health bar, to pull the target.

I haven't done a lot of testing with it and for all i know it maybe interaction with another addon, but I noticed that the autojoin deal for battlegrouns is just hiding the box and not making my team join. I will try a few things here in a bit just wanted to get the heads up out there to see if anyone else is experiencing the same thing I am.

Just been trying it out. I read here (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=18031134556&sid=1&pageNo=3) (post 43) that the AcceptBattlefieldPort() function is now protected (and it seems to be that way), so I'm about to remove it from Jamba....

Jamba 04.g has been released for patch 3.2.0. Fixed issues with Jamba-Quest not working and removed the recently added auto accept battleground portal from Jamba-Me as the api function to accept the portal has been protected by Blizzard (well it seems that way).

If you have any other issues with Jamba and the patch, please post in this thread.

F'n Blizzard, that really sucks. That was one our only hopes to get our master and slaves in the same group.

Thanks for having it while Blizzard allowed it, Jafula :)

You have another addon that refuses group invites. Automaton is one such addon for example.
The only addon that I could think of that could possibly be disallowing the invite would be GameCommanderPro. Every other addon that I have is strictly for UI enhancment (Bartender, Xpearl, SCT, etc)

Now that I think about it... it MUST be a GCP/Jamba issue, because on my alts I disabled EVERY addon except those two, and I still couldn't group up. I will post this issue on the GCP forums, but it would be nice to know if anyone else is using their software... and are they having group issues with GCP-Jamba. I will do some testing to see if I can get JUST these two addons to function correctly, and if not... I will repost.

Jafula,
I doubt that it's my wtf files... this is from a CLEAN install... and by "clean", I mean Reformatted HDD -> Vista install -> WoW install -> Addon install. I will clear the cache, but I seriously doubt that is the problem. I need to get 0.4g anyway for 3.2... Let's hope it works.

Is there a way to disable the "No player named XXX is currently playing" spam? Sometimes I just log on a single client to do some maintenance and it spams the heck out of my chat boxes every 5 seconds. 4 lines of those messages every 5 seconds is kind of annoying. I really hate to uncheck the teams members every time I log the single client on and then remember to check them back before logging off.

Thanks in advance.

The solo mode command switch should do that.

/jamba solo

then /jamba enableallmembers

to reset back to normal.

Thank you sir. I will bind a couple keys to turn this off and on.

Maybe Jafula can can make some sort of filter in a future version to get rid of these specific messages.

Jafula, thanks so much for everything you do for us!

Related to messaging, is there a way to have only specific messages forwarded to the master for when spells are resisted or missed. Something similar to the warning effect from a tank of "My taunt was resisted!" but customizable for spell $.

I'm planning to add a toon information module and another module to display that information. I'll make the gold the toon has part of that.

Tooninfo will work on request - you will most likely have to hit a button on a gui to get the amount of gold displayed on your screen.

I don't think that constantly updating gold information would be a good use of a scarce resource (that resouce being bandwidth between players/addons).

Hows it going? Are your alts accepting invites yet?

Should I be able to pull a target by clicking on the health bar displayed on jamba. If not, how hard would it be to implement this?
Since we are in yet another raid size battleground, and ques ect.. im using jamba to know when to heal my alts lol. I can click on the little portrait but its kind of small and would love to click on the health bar, to pull the target.

I think I might be able to make the health bar clickable. Let me see what I can do...

By default, quests only turn in individually when there is more than one reward choice. You can override this behaviour. As for selection / accepting, you should be able to open the npc on all your toons and then do the actions with the master. The slaves should mirror the masters behaviour.

I don't know if this has to do with Jamba, or just the new patch... but it seems that escort quests are hosed. I've done 3 back to back in Darkshore on my new team and only the main toon gets credit for the escort. I've done them repeatedly and it's the same thing every time.

Jamba is allowing the alts to auto-accept the quest when the master picks it up, so I don't know if it's Jamba's fault or not. This is really annoying as I've escorted Remtravel 3 times and can't get the alts to complete it. But every time, the master completes just fine.

This could just be a bug in 3.2. Anyone else see this?

So I didn't see any fix / solution / reply to the issue of WoW crashing to the desktop when one of the toons takes a taxi.

I've had this happen a lot, and I'm terrible at not updating addons, so I'm not sure which version this was. I just updated everyone last night to the newest version, so I'll be able to experiment tonight with this.

But what was hapenning was this:

Group standing at FP. Main has group members enabled. Main takes FP. all 4 slaves crash to the desktop. ( slaves don't have FP window open, or are somewhere else in the world)
Group standing at FP. Main has group members DISabled (/jamba solo). Main takes FP. all 4 slaves stand there (working as intended).

This also happens when any other group member takes a FP, the main will sometimes not crash, but all the other slaves DO crash. As far as I can tell, if the toons don't have the FP window open, and the main (or any other toon) takes a FP, wow will crash. I didn't save any of the reports but it was generic 132 wow crashes. Like I said, I updated to the newest version last night, so I'll make sure I'm still current and test it out tonight to see if it's still there and give you some detailed steps on what I'm doing to cause it.

I was seeing this prior to the patch. Escorting that turtle all the way across Tanaris to only have half of them get credit made me have a PMS moment. I just turned off auto-accept quests and have the slaves mirror the master choices instead. Then have a SLAVE start the escort, and my master clicks the "Yeah, lemme do this escort, too" dialogue, with the other slaves mirroring that click. Haven't had the no-credit issue since.

It's probably not Jamba, I show that I've got the quest on everyone in nQuestLog and in the default log, I just don't get completion credit.

How configurable will it be? Right now I have Mik's set up to tell me not only when I gain certain procs/auras, but when I use/lose one. IE Maelstrom x5 > Maelstrom Spent! Mor Earthshield plx!

The configuration has the following: the name of the spell as it appears in the combat log, the text you want to display and a tag (all, slave, master, paladin, etc).

Each time a toon gets the proc, the tag is checked to make sure that this toon can send a message. If the toon has the tag that relates to the proc, then a message is sent to an predefined proc message area (currently there is 1 area for all the procs but this could be changed).

So far it is proc gain / refresh only.

The proc message area is configurable - it can be a party chat, private channel, raid warning or a scroll area in Parrot or a scroll area in MSBT.

Currently the display format is toonname - message.

I hope to release a 0.5 alpha soon and get some feedback on this.

Hi Jafula,

When the 3.0 went out, the new vehicle system broke the follow function.. this was really annoying.
they released a tiny patch weeks later enabling the follow of a toon on vehicle.. pretty handy..

but, remember, the way the follow was coded the main char was always following him/herself until you released a patch to enhance this... and it was really good

Now 3.2 is out and I'm encountering this bug again, the main char IS actually following itself (again) when on a vehicle
I'm using this kind of FTL follow/focus setup :

/focus [mod:ctrl,mod:shift,nomod:alt]Celestis;
[mod:ctrl,mod:alt,nomod:shift]Celestîs;
[mod:alt,mod:shift,nomod:ctrl]Celestïs;
[mod:ctrl,mod:alt,mod:shift]Célèstis;
[nomod]player
/follow focus

any idea how to disable the "self-following" annoyance when on a vehicle ?
thanks

Bettysue
08-09-2009, 11:05 AM
The easiest way to prevent self follow is to remove the toons name from the follow macro, for instance say you had the macro you posted on the character Celestis, you would remove

[mod:ctrl,mod:shift,nomod:alt]Celestis

or if you use something like keyclone or HKN to send the modifiers to the alts but not the main then put your "targetting" macro on a bar somewhere, and then make the follow macro something like

/clearfocus
/click [mod] MultiBarRightButton1
/follow focus

that would click the top right button on the right side bars

and that button would have the following macro from your example

/focus [mod:ctrl,mod:shift,nomod:alt]Celestis;
[mod:ctrl,mod:alt,nomod:shift]Celestîs;
[mod:alt,mod:shift,nomod:ctrl]Celestïs;
[mod:ctrl,mod:alt,mod:shift]Célèstis;
[nomod]player

I'd taken a temporary pause in true mb'ing while waiting for 3.2 and cheap mounts. Now that 3.2 is here I'm actively controlling 3 toons.

Previously, I used to get quest status updates on the master in the default chat when the slaves progressed on a quest, be it killing mobs or looting items. It was very helpful to know whether or not the slave actually had accepted the quest, and their progress without having to glance at the second monitor when they loot something!

Since I started up again, these notifications are gone. I've made sure that "Quest Silently" is turned off in my jamba options, and none of my jamba options have changed except I've added a 3rd toon to the team (was just two toons before).

Any idea what option might be causing the total lack of quest progress messages?

Hi Jafula,

I have a question about your quest log window helper. What are the base requirements for this to function?

On my horde server it has never worked correctly. When I would choose "select" only one alt ever followed the main's selections. I recently changed servers, and as soon as I made my new team it worked flawlessly. I believe I had installed 0.4f before starting there, so maybe that was it. But within the last 2 days the functionality has completely stopped working. It won't do group selects or abandons (a bummer when you're running through areas grabbing all quests just to see that they're gray).

I really love this functionality. Do you have any ideas? Corrupt .lua files maybe?

Edit: I've been running the same mods for the last year, so nothing has changed there.

Edit2: I've purged all Jamba related files and reinstalled 0.4g. This is still not working. Anyone know?

Hi,

Sorry you are having this trouble.

Serveral things to check...

1) Are you opening the quest log/quest npcs dialogs on all the toons first, before you do the actions on your master? If not, you need to start doing this.

2) Is your team configured correctly, i.e. the same toon list / master / all toons enabled on _every_ toon. Read this article. (http://wow.jafula.com/addons/1-jamba/15-how-to-configure-your-group)

3) Have you tried with just the Jamba addon (and no other addons)? Maybe a mod has been updated that now conflicts with Jamba.

Its the way Blizzard do escort quests. You need to not auto-accept escort quests (Jamba cannot tell the difference between escorts and normal). On the slaves, do not open the npcs dialog. Just open the dialog on the master. Start the quest. If you have auto-accept escorts quests check in the Jamba-Quest options, all the slaves will automatically join the masters quest. Otherwise you will have to click the Join Quest dialog manually on each slave.

So I fixed my problem in case anyone runs into this.

The problem was the Jamba quest log helper would not select quests for the group for abandoning and marking. CT_Mod (CT_Core specifically) was conflicting with this. I had enabled the "show quest level in quest log" option. As soon as I disabled that it worked again. I didn't want to have to disable CT_Core, but disabling the quest levels made it work again. QuestHelper shows the levels in its log anyway, so it's fine.

Would it be possible to get some sort of lvl1 spam filter?

I do have Spam Sentry on my toons but even those gold selling messages do get blocked they still get relayed to my main and due to the fact that the increase of those annoying gold spams is getting worse by the day it is driving me bananas.

I still find the whisper relay function really useful but I just wish I could block them by level.

Once again, if that has been alreay brought up - my apologies.

Hello,

The blocking whispers by level functionality is not available. I had a quick look at implementing it a while back and decided it was too complicated for a quick fix. I'm not sure I'll be able to get to looking at this anytime soon, but do be aware it is a task on my Jamba todo list.

True, but slaves frequently still pass the whispers through to your main. In one case, my master auto reported all 4 of my slaves for spam (BadBoy addon), SpamMeNot lets the whispers through to the main too. I've had these types of addons put slaves on ignore, or remove them from my friend list as well. Ugh, anyone have a good one that plays nicely with Jamba? It seems that at least one of the servers I play on regularly is inundated with spammers, and I conider Jamba a "must have" addon.

I for one woud love to have Jamba hide whispers from lvl 1, 2, and 55 toons. No reporting, no auto /ignore, nothing like that, just keep the whispers from showing up in my chat log. Until Jafula has time to write such a module (or I find one that really works like I would want) I will deal with it.

Thanks again for a stellar mod Jafula!

Do you mean make a WoW party? You can do this already...

/jamba-group invite

Or do you mean take every one from a party and add them to the Jamba Team and set the party leader as the master?

Yes, _apparently_ some people were using it as some sort of exploit. Blizzard made it that you need to press a key to use the functionality now.

Sounds like a neat idea. I don't think I've got the time to code it up (bigger priorities) but if you want to write some code, I can see about added it directly into Jamba-Team rather than it being its own module (addon).

Update 3 is now available - see first post for download link.

New module: Follow contains all the functionality from 0.4 follow + the new options:
Ability to set a different character (from the team) as the follow master.
Can delay auto follow after combat by x number of seconds.
Can have different strobing delays depending on whether or not the toon is in combat.
Can force follow strobing to always strobe on the master and switch to strobing on the new master when the master changes.
Follow broken warning uses the new Jamba-Message area scheme.

Display Team should now honour the show checkbox.

Slash commands should all work now.

I have a feeling that im not utlizing most of the features of Jamba, but only because I don't know how to. I can't find instructions that tell you how to use it. What does "FTL" stand for and do? How about <tag>? Is there a way to autoinvite your group when loading the game? How about automatically enable strobing when loading the game?

I have to write my own addon bits and pieces to accomplish some of these things for me which makes me wonder if maybe I am just not seeing that it's already built into Jamba. I have searched the forums and google but am not finding much info.

Jamba toons have tags. By default all toons have the 'all' tag. You can add your own tags to toons. Any slash command that takes a <tag> as a parameter will send that command to all toons that have the tag. Toons without the tag will not get the command.

You can invite your team by using the slash command

version 0.4:
/jamba-group invite

version 0.5
/jamba-team invite

There is no option to automatically invite the team when the game loads, nor is there an option to automatically turn on follow strobing when the game loads either.

Thanks for your response. I did finally find a page that explains a few things. The problem is that Jamba is such a great addon, that information for it is kind of spread around all over the place, and much of it is out of date. I did finally find your page with up to date information.

I was actually the one to write the original "Multiboxer" addon, and I still tweak it to accomplish a few things like auto-inviting and what not. Keep up the good work on Jamba, I was torn between working on my addon and playing the game. Obviously playing the game won out :)

Abandon quest (0.4) works for me. Some things to check:

Jamba is enabled on all your toons.
All your toons are in the team list and enabled.
The option 'Mirror Master Abandon Quest' in Jamba-Quest is checked.
All your toons have exactly the same settings.

Let me know how you get on.

trying to use Jamba with IS/ISboxer. now the ISBoxer i can get to use in the basic form. and can do quite a bit with it with the basics. but i followed the " up and running with WOW in 30 seconds video. i ran the quick wizard and did the exact same thing Lax did and nothing more. but my outcome was alot different than his.

My groups didnt join up and follow automatically, and therefore couldnt assist. I could turn mouse and keymaps on and off, make all the other toons jump, etc. but the invite wouldnt work, and of course the accept didnt either.

so, im not sure what the hell i am doing wrong, but ive been playing with this for 3 days.

Jamba needs to be aquired to make the auto follow/assist/join things to work i take it. my question is what do i do with Jamba? i unzipped the folder called jamba into the proper WOW folder, but what confused me was the directions told me to do that for each character, master and slave. thats where i am totally lost and need it explained to me like I am 2.

I am thinking that because i dont have jamba in right, that my follow/join/assist/etc wont work right. any help would be appreciated. and as for my ramblings up til this point, if i dont make sense, please ask questions. i dont explain things very good sometimes.

Thanks in advance.

Hey and welcome to the forums!

From your post, I'm not sure that you have your team set up correctly:

http://wow.jafula.com/addons/1-jamba/15-how-to-configure-your-group

This lets your team members trust each other (and thus be able to communicate).

To invite your group; type

/jamba-group invite

on your master toon.

Once this is set up correctly, you should be able to get them to follow the master by typing this command on the master character.

/jamba-follow master all

With quests, you need to open the quest dialog from the NPC on each character before you start doing actions on your master. Your slave toons should mirror the master actions.

Hope that helps a bit, please post if you are still having trouble.

when i follow Lax's video on how easy it is to use the quick wizard and immediately have a fuctional group in 30 seconds. i have followed that video, and wizard identically. and there is automatically a keyset to invite the group. i checked the macro and all the names are correct and all. but when i hit that key, it does nothing.

After playing around with this for a few days, i can only assume that i didnt install Jamba correctly. I followed your directions to unzip it in the WoW, interface/addons folder. so now in that folder i have a Jamba folder and a ISBoxer folder. is that correct? and if so, why doesnt the predetermined key work like it does in the video?

I know i could get this thing running with my group without using all of these newer features. i used to play EQ and ran a 5 man team there for awhile. But all of these newer features seem real nice and would make alot of things easier once i get the problem figured out.

oh, and btw...nice idea on your addon and what it does. i saw the video and was floored on how i could just switch toons and the rest would just follow whichever group member i chose without any hastle.

If Lax would explain in a little more detail what he does and what needs to be pressed and what to do to get a certain result he is trying to show.
thanks

You can tell if Jamba is installed correctly by typing

/jamba

If a configuration screen appears, then Jamba is installed correctly. I have no idea about ISBoxer sorry - and this will be where your predetermined key is not working. You might like to ask on the IS forums or here on the new multiboxers forum.

Hi Jafula, have you planned to add the feature I asked you about a while ago ? selling the same item (with or without a modifier key) over all toons at the same time (ie : a green quest item reward which is only valuable by it's selling value, and that we must sell one toon at a time).

this could be a super huge feature, and you promised me to add it to the 0.5 release.

This has been reported for a while, but I can never reproduce it, whereas others have been able to. I have made changes to Jamba-Taxi in 0.5 to make sure that the player is not already on a taxi and that the taxi frame is open before attempting to take a flight. No one has reported crashes in the 0.5 version that I can remember.

Anyway, I have backported the fix for the taxis to Jamba 0.4h, which you can download from http://wow.jafula.com/

I'm not sure if this has been suggested before (or if it's already possible to do), but I'd find it rather handy if there was a way to setup the Jamba item bar (on a per-item basis) to make the item "round robin" through the characters (aka first press will activate it on ToonA, second on ToonB, etc., instead of all activating at once).

Is there any chance of something similar to this happening at some point?

No, not within the Jamba Addon. If you wanted this behavior you could use your favorite key clone software to implement it.

One thing I would love to see with that is just expanding the comparison tooltip that already exists. Just add a few tooltip windows that instead of "Currently Equipped" say "ToonA has equipped". Have a look at the options in the Jamba Follow options screen. There is a checkbox for auto follow after combat.

To get a slave to follow you can type (set up a macro) on the master:

Sorry to say that it is on the drawing board. I haven't tried to write it yet.

If I was going to build something it would probably build a static window that you could popup by alt-clicking an item, that showed the icons for the item equipped on each toon in the same slot as the item you clicked on. Mousing over those items would show you the items stats.

Your folder should look like :

Interface\AddOns\Jamba

Inside the Jamba folder should be

Libs, Locals, Modules, Textures, Binding and so on

If you have Interface\AddOns\Jamba\Jamba you need to move everything from the second Jamba folder into the top level Jamba folder

If you have Interface\AddOns and a bunch of files, you need to create a Jamba folder, delete the Libs, Locales, Modules, textures Bindings, Jamba* files and re-extract them to the Jamba folder.

If the abilities of this addon could be expanded (development of a gui, ability to choose whether the macro to be shared should be general or character specific, etc) It would make a great feature.

I definitely agree with you on the ability to share macros. For the 0.5 version I have build Jamba-Macro

http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=24694

It is a lot more powerful than regular macros and probably not what you want.

I'm happy with the Jamba-Macro and I probably will not write a macro sharer for the original WoW macros. But that doesn't stop someone else from building a macro sharing module that hooks into Jamba or a standalone addon. The FTL Helper in Jamba was built by olipcs. Redbeard wanted to build a macro sharing addon and might have made a start on it.

I am trying to get Jamba working and I am having some trouble. I download and unzip the file into my addons file like I do with all my addons. When I go to play wow Jamba does not register as and addon. I have downloaded and reinstalled numerous times with no luck. instillation path is file:///C:/Users/Public/Games/World%20of%20Warcraft/Interface/AddOns/ any suggestions would be helpful.

Sorry, I uploaded the 0.4h version missing the Jamba directory around all the files. If you download it again, you should get a fixed zip file.

Khatovar, thanks for posting the info.

I find myself missing an add-on to keep an eye on the health, mana and castbars of my chars when not grouped with my slaves (in battlegrounds for instance). Is there any chance of having you implement some more unit-frame options in jamba? :-)

Also, I don't know if it's just my imagination, but it seems that the healthbars in the jamba display is updating slower than it is on my party frames - or is that just me? Also, thanks for a great add-on, it's on my must-have list and the work you put into it is very much appreciated!

Jamba 0.5 has health and mana bars for your team. I'm really don't want to move into the unit frame area as there are plenty of good unit frame addons out there already and if I was to build one, I'd have to add feature after feature to keep up with the existing addons (you guys are relentless) and etc. I could probably hack up an existing addon like X-Perl (which has an open source license), but that is probably the extend I would go to.

Having said that, I might change my mind one day.

The health display in Jamba 0.4 is very slow, it uses updates from the team over the wire rather than from the combat log. In Jamba 0.5, the display uses the combat log and now matches the unit frames.

Thanks for the kind words.

Would it be possible (see also "easy") to add support for click-based mods (i.e. Clique) to the team window? Just a thought for those of us that use clicker mods and lose our party frame in raids (and BGs).

I have no idea how clique interacts with other mods. I'll have a look at Clique/Grid and see if I can work out how its done and if it is easy, I'll see if I can add the functionality in.

Make sure there is not another folder inside that folder. I.e. you should have...

For me, its the list of my team members itself. It occurs right when I invite my team via "/jamba-team invite" (im not sure if this happen with just sending and accepting invites manually, since I only use to mod commands to do the group makeup). What happens is only a couple team members will appear in the team window dispite my full team being in the party and being full controllable. It seems that if I force a redraw to occur (via altering the module settings, etc), the rest of my team appears and all is fine and dandy. It just seems like a redraw isnt occuring after my team accepts all their invites.

Hey,

tried jamba for the first time today, and well, i can't get it running smooth...

the "mirror master" thing from quests doesn't seem to work at all for me.

how exactly do i get it to work ?
does it even work at all if i'm running 2 clients on the same machine ?
or would it need 2 different pcs ? ( to keep both clients "open" at the same time)

same goes for "push settings"....doesn't seem to work...
(getting "settings received from..." on my master, but literally nothing on my 2nd toon)

everything that should work on both clients simultaneous, doesn't seem to work...
all i can manage to do is autoaccepting party invites so far ;) (yet i had to configure that manually on my 2nd toon )

i'm sorry if i missed something in this thread so far, looks like a great addon, and this is not meant to be a complaint, rather a call for help :-)

I know in the current Dev version, you need to create your teams before anything else will work. That is, add your slaves to the team section on the main, add your main to the teams on your slave, set your main as master on both. Then you can push settings and things will work properly.

Am I missing something? I used to be able to click on a place on ver .4's bar for my group and selec that person. I can't seem to find a way to do that with .5.

Also, can I put anything I want in the item bar, so my alts will use it, or does it have to be a quest item. If I can put stuff in there, how?

I dropped the click on the bar to select a person in favour of putting a macro there instead, but I never got the macro gui input stuff into the UI.

You can put items (not actions) into the item bar. Drag them from your bag into a slot on the bar. Quest items, potions, hearth stones, equipable weapons should all work. To use, make sure that you have bound keys to all item slots on all your characters and that those keys are broadcasted to the each toon. Press a key associated with the item slot position and your toons should all use that item.

So the only difference to the item bar over putting items in a normal action bar slot is that you only have to drop it there on the main and everyone will have it in right?

I'm new to boxing and Jamba. I had just started to use the previous version over the weekend, the 3.3 hits and new Jamba released. So I install it. Some quick things I don't quite understand. I can no longer move the jamba-team window around by dragging it. It's stuck in the center of the screen. There's an item interface with 5 slots in it which not only do I not know what it does, but can't seem to move it either. I've turned off the displays for both of these interfaces for now. Am I missing something on how to use these now?

Thanks for writing Jamba! I hope to get better using it soon.

Hold down ALT and left click to move windows.

On one of your toons, you can drag items (not actions/spells) from your bags to the bars and every one in your team will try and put the same item in their bar as well. You need to go into keybindings and assign a key to each item on the bar on all your toons. Make sure these keys are broadcast to all your toons. Pressing the appropriate key will make every one use the item you placed in the bar.

What kind of help do you need ? setting a repository there is pretty straightforward - then you got to webui and tag the repository, if the message starts with for instance

"1.1.8
blah blah blah"

it will make the 1.1.8 release available on curse (I use that for my WhoTracker for instance) and svn commit directly to them - if you want to keep locally your source control system (which may be wise) you can still probably push files to auto build and auto release

Is there a chance we could put macros in the item bar? And can we click on items in item bar in addition to keybinds? I would put the lance for the tournament in a slot, but I don't need to use it quickly or very often. It wastes a keybind just to use something that I don't need to use fast. Same with a macro (/script LeaveParty()) when WG is over. I don't need to do it quickly. I don't need to do it in middle of battle. I just would like to use items/macros on alts through clicking on an item on my main.

Not something I want to do. I just want it to be an item bar.

...
I just would like to use items/macros on alts through clicking on an item on my main.

Addons cannot cast spells / use items for you. Hence the keyboard (hardware input) to use the items. To do this you need to use software like HKN, ISBoxer to broadcast mouse clicks.

I would put the lance for the tournament in a slot, but I don't need to use it quickly or very often. It wastes a keybind just to use something that I don't need to use fast.

Hence, you can drag the lance onto the item bar when you want to use it and drag it out when you are finished. With the item bar, you only need to do this on one character and the rest will follow.

thinus,

FWIW: I have completed quests across characters (with 3.3) without errors.

It seems that the quest name is not being sent with the quest selection command for some reason.

Can you tell me what other quest mods you are running?

Just QuestHelper. The only addons I am using at the moment is Jamba, QuestHelper and SmartBuff.

EDIT: I'll try without QuestHelper and see if I still get errors.

I'm getting the quest completion error too, when trying to select reward. Not using questhelper or other quest add-ons, I'll post the complete error message the next time I get it :)

I'm at work, but I also get errors when attempting to complete quesets. This is both for reward and non-reward choosing quests.

I don't have the error messages, as I'm at work. And I haven't downloaded any newer version of Jamba that may have come out after the release, if that makes a difference.

Only options I have selected are to complete quests when another party member complete a quest, as well as selecting the same reward (Unless chosen separately by the slave itself).

I'll post errors tonight, if I can remember.

Solutions

a) Take out /script AcceptQuest() from the big button that you use to trade.
b) Don't use Jamba-Quest.

Ok, thanks, guess I don't really need it in the big button since I broadcast my quest selections anyway. :)
With jamba 0.4 the message only appeared once for each character though, not 4 times.

Jamba 0.5b released. I've fixed the quest reward lua error. Everything seems to be working now with the quests. There was a problem with the auto select and auto complete which I have fixed as well.

Jamba Proc no longer sends messages, but shows timer bars. Its a work in progress. Currently there is a bug with an Blizzards Combat Log api function where they are not returning proc information. MSBT is affected amongst other addons, and Mik has posted on the official forums with a bug report, so its wait and see if Blizzard fix the problem. FWIW, Paladins Art of War works really well.

Following issue on master. I have updated my macros to use the new iammaster syntax and master/leader switches correctly on PIP out of combat. But as soon as the master enters combat the master starts strobing on whichever toon was the last master. Only the master does this, the others stay on the proper/current master. I can't turn it off until am out of combat. This is a 1 second strobe, not the 3 second melee strobe.

I updated to the latest build this morning and the issue persists. Any suggestions?

moosejaw
12-12-2009, 02:31 PM
Update: I checked the box "always use master as the strobe target" in the follow module. After a reload this seems to have corrected the issue.

But the prior matter still persists that every toon had the same master and the master itself was following something upon entering combat. The master should never follow anything automatically, only if you manually select a follow target. If you don't check that box the master will follow another toon.

Search these forums for the phrase: Interact With Target

TheFallenOne

This bug still seems to be persisting, so I figured I would bring it up... I'm using the following macro to set the current follow target and initialize my macros:

/jamba-macro use FTL #VarName#
/stopmacro [mod]
/jamba-team invite
/jamba-follow strobeonme all
/jamba-follow strobeoff

It will only execute the bottom 3 commands if the toon executing the command is the one currently in focus, due to the FTL setup.

Now, the issue is that I have "follow after combat" enabled. When I execute this on my main toon only, things work great and all is fine. However, say my main toon dies, and I run this macro on one of my slaves until I can res my main toon. That works fine, until I res my main toon and then hit this macro again on him.

Everyone follows him as intended, but from that point on, UNTIL I log out (even with the "strobeoff" command I have in there), after combat every time, my main toon will turn around and start following the slave I executed it on while he was dead. Everyone else will still be following my leader. It's really annoying when he randomly turns around, it's walked me off a cliff a couple times. :p

If there's anything I can do to help track the issue down, or if there's a chance I'm doing something wrong, let me know.

EDIT: Just to clarify, I am never changing which toon Jamba thinks is the master, so I don't think that's relevant. I think it may be that "strobeoff" and "strobeonme" aren't properly clearing the post-combat follow target.

Cheers, I'll look into when I get the chance. The follow strobe code is a bit of a monster and grown somewhat over the year!

For further trouble shooting. If you change masters a lot, such as with pip switching in Innerspace, The current master will follow the last known master. So the current master isn't getting the update when "Iammaster" is processed even though the core group list shows them as master.

Hope this helps.

BTW the new module setup is terrific. Excellent work.

Hey Jaf,
Nice to be back boxing! First, I've searched the forums using Jamba, Razer Naga and got one hit that had nothing to do with my problem sooooo... Here's my problem:
I use the Razer Naga mouse (12 keys right at my thumb). Bound to those 12 keys, I have the num pad N0-N9 plus N- N+ . I was playing with the macro module last night and trying to bind keys. Unless I'm doing something wrong, Jamba is not recognizing the keystrokes from the mouse as numpad keystrokes. It sees them as 0-9 rather than N0 - N9. If I bind actions to the keys via the in game keybinds menu, the keystrokes are recognized as N0 - N9 etc, but in Jamba they are not.. Am i missing something?

I've said this to you privately, but its worth saying over and over what a godsend this mod is, and how cool you are for offering it for free. I can, and will, work around this issue if I have to, but I just wanted to let you know this was happening.

Ok I see the list let me ask another question, but first thanks for the link and help. I notice some of the actual in game keybinds are gone for setting master and setting master as focus. I used to through 3 key clicks make new master leader and focus, so that no matter what window I had to jump to from deaths or what ever I was set. Is there now an easier way to do this, and if so I would greatly appreciate any help with how to set it up. Thanks in advance.

This functionality is gone. You can replace it with Jamba Macro, but you'll need to write your macros. Using Jamba Macro, you will be able to switch masters and set focus in one key press.

Here is a howto post I made for switching masters:

I'm not sure I can help in this case. I use the Ace3 GUI library key binding control. I don't know how it works, but it obviously is a little different to regular wow key bindings (based on your experience). I'll have a look at the code for the control when I get a chance and see if its doing any key/mouse filtering.

I see that example, I guess it's non intuitive in that its more steps upfront than normal. Especially if you mix groups and cannot reuse the toon1-5.

But to be clear on the defacto example, the master you want me to setup a variable for each character (your tom, dick -> #toon1#, #toon2#) then use those variables just like someone might normally /focus tom or /focus dick. Then push those to the slaves (again if you swap in characters your going to need to augment this procedure since the names are defined it seems)

/jamba-team master #toon1#
/focus #toon1#
/jamba-follow masterThis seems quite intensive, is there a mechanism to allow the master to set a variable and then push it (out of combat). Something akin to this

/jamba-macro iammastervar #MASTER#
/jamba-macro push
/focus #MASTER#
/jamba-follow master

This wouldn't help the pvp people that want to swap characters i understand or work during combat since your rewriting the internal macro upon iammastervar.

Re: you cannot reuse toon1-5.

The idea is that you tag your characters with these toon1, toon2, toon3, toon4, toon5 tags. When you change your group composition, you rearrange the tags on your characters appropriately. All you do is change the tags on your toons, push the updated tag settings, the run the /jamba-macro use xxx yyy all command. Note that you don't push the jamba macro settings as these are already defined on your toons.

If this is too much bother, you can use profiles to predefine these.

Edit:

jamba-macro looks for variables as tags on your toons first, before using the variables defined in jamba-macro.

Another way would be to setup several macro sets, one for each unique group of characters.

Ok maybe I did something wrong but I am sure I did the exact same thing on all 4 toons I made the....
master1

/jamba-team master #toon1#

slave1

/jamba-team master #toon1#
/focus #toon1#
/jamba-follow master

With each toon tagged all my toons did the !toon1 !toon2 till toon 4 I checked they all say the right things according to the post, or my interpretation of it....lol but when I swap lets say I am on toon 1 swap to toon 2 I have differant toons following differant people for some reason.1 and 2 swap fine but 3 and 4 follow 1 or 2 not who ever is set as master and then if I swap to 3 or 4 1 and 2 mess up. All this being said has anyone got a screen shot of 4 or 5 toons with the macro set up working that I can take a peek at? I am sure I just fudged something up somewhere just not sure where. Thanks for all the help so far guys. Oh and do the # go around the names I tried with and without I belive?

Ok maybe I did something wrong but I am sure I did the exact same thing on all 4 toons I made the....
master1

/jamba-team master #toon1#

slave1

/jamba-team master #toon1#
/focus #toon1#
/jamba-follow master

Make sure you only make the macros up on one toon and then push the settings to all the other toons. You need to make sure that all toons get the macro on the correct keys. When you hit the master key, the master should run the master macro and all the other slaves should run the slave macro.

The #'s go around the variables or toon tags.

I love this addon.

That could you add a way to configure what options are available with the Jamba Quest log..? I hit abandon all and didn't think things through and just thought it meant abandon on all characters not ALL quests. I hate this button more then any other button ever, why would anyone even want this button. After cussing at my computer for a few minutes as I had just completed 8 dailies on my team and hadn't turned them in yet, I edited the jamba quest file so the Abandon All button just calls the normal abandon button function so I never ever do that again.

I am not sure how to get procs set up. I put in Rune Strike for my DKs, and it doesn't do anything. The pally one defaulted in works. But when I want to put in procs from gear, it doesn't seem to work. I tried Kill Shot in hunters, but I think that is more of a conditional use more than a proc. Yeah, you can tell me that I don't need notice for rune strike (put it in every macro or make a /click macro), but I am trying to figure out how to do things, so I can put in what I want. Those are just the things I tried to experiment with.

Sorry, procs is really broken at the moment. Blizzard broke the method I was using for certain procs, like mage hot streak (no longer comes up in the combat log) and I'm not sure that they have fixed it yet.

I suggest using MSBT (updated with workaround for Blizzards bug) or Proculas for your proc needs.

In Jamba-talk module what does the option "Fake Whispers For Clickable Player Names" do?

I'm having problems with my toons accepting quests from NPCs and completing quests.
This was working for me until just recently. I must have messed some setting up. At present, I'm having inconsistant results. Some toons auto complete, auto accept and do nothing at all.

I have all the toons speak to the NPC before I accept, etc.

Here is what I want:
1. Toons to accept quest from NPCs when one of them accepts the quest. I don't want them to auto accept quest.
2. Toons to complete quest when one complets it. If I'm pressing shift when I complete a quest, I want all the toons to take the same quest reward.

I've tried a lot of differnet settting and nothing is working consistently.
I may have another addon with a conflict, not sure.

Here are the options I've selected for Quest and Quest completion. If anyone sees something wrong, I would appreciate a reply.

Quest:
Toon Select & Decline Quest with Team
Accept Quests
Toon Accept Quest from Team
Only Auto Accept Quests From:
Team
Master Auto Shares Quest When accepted
Toon Auto Accept Escort Quest from Team

Quest Completion:
Enable Auto Quest Completion
Quest Has No Rewards Or One Reward:
Toon Complete quest with team
Quest has more than one reward
Toon Complete quest with team
If modifier Key pressed, toon chooses Same reward
as team otherwise toon must choose own reward
I selected Shift
Override if toon already has reward selected, choose that reward.

Turn off: "Master Auto Share Quests When Accepted" - as you are selecting and declining with team; there is no point sharing a quest everyone will already have.

You are missing "Toon Must Choose Own Reward" in your description.

Apart from that, everything seems fine.

Check that your toons do not have different settings from each other. Get the settings the way you want on one toon and push your settings to all your team members and make sure that they get them (in the default chat window, they should say Jamba-Quest: Settings received from xxx).

In Jamba-talk module what does the option "Fake Whispers For Clickable Player Names" do?

Some people want to be able to click a player name to whisper directly to them rather than using the chat relay functionality.

Whispers cannot be sent with clickable player names in them.

Rather than send a whisper, Jamba sends its own internal whisper command which is then displayed in the default chat window as text (not a whisper, but same colour as a whisper) with clickable player names.

What I will do is change the wording on the are you sure dialog to say that it will work across all toons and all quests.

Ah yes the abandon all function got me the first time. Luckily it was on my lowbie team. When I first saw it I thought nah there is no way it means abandon all quest surely it means abandon this quest on all toons.

putting back some suggestion I made in the macro thread:

the communication channel thing seems broken (I haven't upgraded to 0.5c yet maybe it's better/fixed) - toons go offline/online randomly - I think the work around I found is to use your own channel and password but setting that is inconvenient - I'm wondering also if the channel / pass is a security hazard (can someone make your alt do something or at minimum snoop on you if they are in the channel ?) - could you replace that with pairing UI like bluetooth for instance - or just an initial setup command - when you want to add toons together in team for the first time:

/jamba-setup master <optionalpassword>
typed once in the master would generate an 8 digits random number and show it on screen if you haven't specified one and enter pairing mode

/jamba-setup slave <mastername> <password>

would talk to the master and send it (privmsg) the password and pair

that way a new team addition is just typing 2 command (the second one is broadcasted to everybody so it's really done quick - would help with not having to type all the slaves anyway)

what do you think?

I think this might be used more so out of party/raid where he has private channels that people cannot hijack. i am thinking of ungrouped boosting.

jamba can still use a channel instead of pair wise communication after that setup but the command and method I suggested is about to pick said channel and boostrap the team list effetively - the party addition is nice too but typically on a new team I setup jamba first and then jamba-team invite - so I'd like to do all that with 2 commands as above or similar

I had a team
Toon1 slave
Toon2 master
-- No other toons in the ilist

When I click the SHOW button on the macro /assist #Master# - it showed this as
/assist toon3

Ie it was translating master to a toon name I didnt have
I believe this was due to me removeing the toon3 who was marked as master - it appears as if that toon is rememberd as the master even when I set different toons to master

When I added toon3 back in it was slave/offline -but the problem went away

You need to rebuild the macros after you have changed masters. Jamba-Macro does not automatically rebuild macros.

This could be done. Its not a high priority for me as its a bit of work as I would have to add special methods to send information that bypass the team online checks.

The communication channel is only used to see which toons in your team are online, it cannot be used to make your toons do anything.

Anyway, here is a ticket for your suggestion; at least you know its on the todo list now.

I'm amazed by your work !!

Jafula,
I absolutely LOVE this addon!! It's the best thing since sliced bread! REALLY!

I was wondering if there was any way to add in an option to turn off follow strobing when in a vehicle? I sometimes cart around low level toons with my lvl 80 on my Grand Ice Mammoth and the follow strobing will send a follow broken error message to the master every second, which is what my strobing interval is set to. The only way to stop the error is by turning of the message if follow strobing, which kind of defeats the purpose. If the slave gets stuck on something when not mounted and breaks follow I won't get an error message on the Master with that turned off. Hope you can work that in somewhere in a future release.

Thanks!

ElectronDF

You might have to look up the actual commands, but there should be a slash command for stop following, so
/cast mammoth
/jamba-follow(something that turns it off)

Seems like it would mount and turn off follow strobe, then just do a slash command to turn it on when you dismount.
/dismount [mounted]
/jamba-follow(something to turn it on)
