ahhh k is it the same with the flight paths as well??

i still havent found a combo im happy with atm got 2 mages lvl 10, 2 locks lvl 11, and now working on 2 shammies lvl6 at time of post might lvl them all slowly.yes. with flight masters, you have to open the dialog with both of them first, then the main can choose a destination and the slave will automatically follow (if he also knows the destination flight path).

This is a very nice mod. It helps not having the big white box now that was multiboxer.

Im just wondering though, With the new gui that you have for experience. Is there a way to provide an option to make them health bars instead? Its just that once you reach cap, the experience bars are required as much.

This would alleviate alot of the drama that comes in battlegrounds and raids when your not in the same group.

Aside from that im really liking this mod so far.

Hmmm. Searched back and did not see anyone else with my problem. I use

/focus Toon1
/jamba setmeasmaster all
/jamba-follow strobeonme all

on leader with a corresponding

/focus Toon1

on other toons. Duplicated properly on all 5 to match my PiP swap with keyclone. Worked flawlessly on .2

I can no longer switch leaders, as my party continues to follow the last leader. Sometimes it will switch after 30 seconds or so, sometimes it won't. Sometimes my toons will revert back to an old leader. This did not occur before .3 (or .3a). It was tested with no other addons. I am gonna go back to .2 for now. The gui is nice but not nice enough to make my leader changes stop. Thanks for your dedication, and I love Jamba still.

Your add on just rock !!

But I really miss the way "Multiboxer v2" is forwarding the wisps...
You receive a 'green' notification with a link with the name of the wisper.. you can clic this link and instantely start to chat with the wisper ... with your main guy.. the wisps aren't sent to the clone and then to the wisper ... the main can easily chat with people wipsering your clones by itself.. this is way easy than the wisp relaying..

And by this way people can add the main char to the friend list instead of one of your clones ...

Please add this function !! i really miss it !!

So after installing, I'm running around killing stuff and then I talk to a vendor.

All my toons autorepaired and paid after my main clicked on the vendor. Awesome.

Great addon but is there any info about jamba-target? how this works?See this post ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=130514#post130514') . And read below...

Go into key bindings. Scroll down until you see the Jamba-Target header. Bind a key to mark target (press and hold). Bind another key to clear target and 8 more keys to target 1 - 8.
I use numpad 0 for clear target and numpad 1-8 for targets 1-8.

Make sure that whatever key you use for mark target is a "movement" key when it comes to the likes of hotkeynet, keyclone. You must be able to have up,down states for this key.

Now, go find some mob. Select a mob. Hold down the mark target key. 8 raid icons appear. Click on one of the raid icons; say star (target 1). Now a target list appears on the screen with that mob and that mob is marked with a star. Select another mob (different name), mark it with a moon.

Now when you press the target 1 key, all your characters will target the star target. Likewise with moon, and all the other targets.

Clear target; just clears the toons target, so they are not targeting anything.

Your welcome, I hope future Jamba updates are useful to you.

To turn on following use

(on a single toon and all your toons will follow the master)

/jamba-follow master all

(or on each toon individually use)

/jamba-follow master

and to turn it off follow, press a movement key (you cannot stop following from an addon).

As another poster here - i'm using the strobeonme all - meaning that they'll autofollow again for each strobe. - Now if there was a quick way to enable/disable strobing ... :)

I use this for my parade formation, Samarri follows Sarnarn
follows Samarn follows Sarnam follows Samam... here's one for a 10+
boxer to try, did you know if you ran a big enough circle in a line
like this that if you /follow on the last person with the first person
the entire circle keeps moving for a little bit, a 5 boxer moves for
about 5 seconds more until the circle collapses and stops orbiting....
I'd wager a 30+ boxer could go for at least 15 seconds after hitting
that last follow command!

/jamba-follow strobeonme <tag>

I've placed this in my PIP hotkey to make a toon the master.

/jamba-follow strobeoff <tag>

This is used in my stop following macro so I can eat/drink successfully.

/jamba-follow strobeonlast <tag>

And this of course is used after I eat or drink to start following again.

**EDIT*** LOL I just realized that in copying the info from the other thread, it looks like I am using all of those names and such. No, someone else posted the thread and gets credit for spelling it out, I just copied it. Sorry.***
Where <tag> is "all"
It takes time, but it's best to read the threads...Jafula is good about answering issues and many people have come in here to post their setups/use of Jamba. I think this was on Pg 18

I haven't had much time to test out all the features, but I am running into 1 error.
And this ins't going to be helpful to track it down because I'm at work and can't get you the exact error.

I'm using the focusless-leaderless-etc.etc. setup via keyclone and when I hit my follow macro, I get an error popup on the slaves.
They do follow, and the party display updates. I think the error message has something to do with targets...I know..not helpful. :p I'll try to post a screen shot when I get home.
BUT, I know I downloaded a new version of Jamba last night (I thought was 3a), but these boards are showing that you just posted a version a few hours ago..my timestamps could be wrong though. :p

The odd thing is, my assist macro is set up just like my follow macro, and causes no errors. So I think it has something to do with the actual follow comman, or perhaps the target they are supposed to follow.

You assign tags to a toon, like all of my shaman have a tag called Shaman and my paladin has a tag called Paladin. That's in the group setup screen.

That tag is then linked to other actions, like in the merchant section for buying items automatically I have Naruu Rations taged with Shaman and Paladin for 100 items with allowing overflow so they always have at least 100 of them. Ankhs are tagged with just Shaman since the paladin can't use them, and the same thing with candles for the paladin, they only have a Paladin tag.

AtroxCasus
10-18-2008, 04:14 AM
Tags are also used to assign actions within Jamba in the <follow> commands, for example on my setup, my toons are just "ALL" so when I hit my jamba follow macro, the toons know it applies to all of them, however you could modify the tags like the poster above did for specific actions.
One thing I am going to try is making one of my toons melee, and modifying the jambafollow macro so that the 2 mages will stop following but the elem/healer shaman will follow the melee. It's very handy and a great feature.

I seem to have weird problems when trying to swap master .. it won't register on some chars until suddenly a few minutes later it'll start following new master...

FIrst of all, great addon! Thank yuo!

I searched and couldn't find this.....

I'm trying to get the push-to-characters to work. I have them all in my team list, and they're all in each other's friends list. However, I run my MB setup differently than most. I have three seperate directories for my instances. Instance1 gets its own, 2 and 3 get their own folder of WoW, and 4 and 5 get their own. Will the push to characters not work in that way?

Edit: nvm, it works, I'm a nub

Heenan

You said you have all of your characters in the master's list. Do you have the master in ALL of the alts list and the drop-down with the master selected? After that you should be able to pushdown settings.

Hey boss, I'm haivng some odd behavior with the display on the newest jamba...

The follow strobes... a lot. I'm also getting delayed master changes soemtimes... I'd wager it has to do with too much data going back and forth, haven't looked at the code but depending how realtime that jamba-ui is it may be throttling.

After quite some time of using Jamba tonight I started getting REALLY wierd behavior, random leader changes. Reload ui fixed it.

a) turn off the team gui that shows the follow status/experience bars

-or-

b)turn off the follow status option for the team gui.

Ok, so extra data being sent now; is
Mob health data if you have marked targets with Jamba-Target. (should not be sending data otherwise). Every kill will send experience updates if you have the team gui and experience bars options on. Follow status updates if you have the team gui follow status option on (everytime auto-follow starts and stops).
I'll make sure that turning these switches off do stop the flow of extra data.

I'm guessing that follow strobing and team gui follow status option will flood the communication channel, so not recommended.

Does that help any?

Hi,

this maybe a dumb question ;) , but i use TwoMultiboxToolkit and there you can whisper your toons with "followme" to set them to follow modus? How do you set your Toons with Jamba to Auto-Follow after break? Can you control that from the master or do you need a macro on each toon?

Thanks

^What Zanthor explains above is the problem i had with 0.3 as well. i would give up trying to set char b as leader, and just kept running with char a as leader.. after a few minutes char a stops and starts following b - without me doing anything (not even having wow active).

I went back to 0.2 and i don't experience this problem, but i've added a 5th and might have accidentally "fixed" some macro issues that might or might not have been an issue.

I will try 0.3a again and tell how it went

0.3a did not work on first team swap.

the new leader keeps following the old leader.

(edit2: update)I think ive found the source of this problem Jafula !

I have a feeling it is caused by the followstrobe, and a backlog of strobe requests
i mainly had this problem when i had the followstrobe set to 1 or 2 seconds
i LOVED the feeling, i never lost follow no matter what

but if EVER i had 1 char to break follow to walk away/drink/interact with... i would press the /jamba-follow strobeoff macro, YET STILL it would continue to followstrobe the old char for about 30 seconds up to 1 minute

the same happens when switching mains, i press my pip switch macro, and this macro contains /jamba-follow strobeonme all
some of my 5 start following straight away, others are still following the old char
this takes again up to a minute before they switch

I have a feeling it is caused by a backlog of follow requests
you can replicate this even withouth the strobe function
when you have AN addon that shows a color if one is following or not
rapidly press the follow macro button
and see the lights turn up and down and up, processing each and every follow request.

I have a feeling this is a limitation of wow itself, not of jamba
seeing how i had the same problem with other addon's which showed follow lights

Hey everyone,

I've been away for a while and my website seems to have got itself tangled in the web and gone for a walk ... (lol). I've fixed the problem and it's back up for me. Hopefully you all can see it too.

To everyone with master follow problems, I believe the problem comes from the fix I made for the auto follow after combat bug on 0.3. I'll get onto that now. Also I'll make sure that when you turn the follow status / experience bars / gui off that no unnecessary data is being sent over the wire. Likewise for the data that Jamba target sends.

Ok, I found the problem, I was sending follow status updates regardless of whether you wanted them or not. For those that use follow strobing, this will kill your performance (as you have noticed). It will also explain why you are getting random master changes (they are happening, but getting queued up and taking some time to filter through). I've fixed this problem, but I want to test it and check for some other bugs.

Edits:

@Talos - great quality assurance work there; you worked out exactly what was going wrong. Thank you for posting such a detailed explanation. And yes, my fault, not wow's fault. Did you know the follow strobing was zanthor's idea.. It's awesome huh :-).

@zanthor, @cairnz - cheers likewise for the bug reports!

I'm really sorry for the bugs, but thanks so much for reporting them and I'll try and get a bug fix version (0.3b) out in the next 24 hours (or sooner!).

Cheers,
Jafula.

[what's that "targetButton" ?]Ah, another silly bug. My bad. I've fixed this one for you. Fix is in 0.3b (soon).

Targetbutton is a variable that holds the button that I use to display your toons portrait and their follow status. You use Jamba slightly differently to me (from what I can tell from your posts) so this bug only manifested itself with your setup. Thanks for reporting it.

What box are you referring to? Is it something Jamba does or something WoW does? I don't recall a box appearing for reward choice... Ah, hold on, it could be a bug from a fix I made because of the changes to the wow api in patch 3.0.2? Is it the Jamba-Quest box with the select, abandon, add/remove watch buttons or something different?

I have a question that might sound strange to hardcore multiboxers, but worth a shot anyways :)

Both my wife and myself are eager multiboxers, she has 3 accounts with shamans and I have 4 accounts where I have a team of shamans and a team of mages setup. However, when we do instances, we like to combine where she run 3 shamans and I run 2. We used to use the Multiboxer addon until 3.02 but now changed to Jamba and love the setup, seems very streamlined and it solved some issues for me. However, we have not yet tried to "duo" in an instance yet, so I wanted to ask what kinda problems we would get with 2 x Jamba users in one team, and how do we go about solving them, anyone have any experience with it?

The first thing I'd see is that we both have Follow on master in our seperate teams, that wont work too well here since I assume just one of us can be master of a team? Is there a way to "isolate" those two Jamba installations within the team and just dont make master the team leader?

There are more things that will appear when we try it, but just wanted to get a head start and ask here if anyone have any experience with it, or if you all box solo.

Thanks.

Perfect, i will be having a go at this in the afternoon.

However, I still haven't understood how to toggle following on slaves. I would like a "something" keypress that'll turn off strobing on the master so that all the slaves can go and position themselves accordingly.

I read that i should try the /jamba-follow strobeonme off - but that didn't help. How can i turn off/turn on/toggle following strobing on the slave(s).

Minor cosmetic bug:

You seem to be showing experience in the range 1-100%, rather than 0-99%. i.e. when my toon has just gained a level he's shown at 1%, not 0%. When she's about to level, she's shown at 100%, not 99%. If you've not reached the next level, then you can't be 100% of the way there! :)

---

Also, I was experiencing some problems with follow (v0.3a), which may be the same as previously reported, but I thought I'd mention it just in case it's something new. NB: I've yet to try 0.3b, so this issue may not be around any more.
I switch leaders reasonably frequently, and I noticed yesterday that my toons would get in a funny state, where there was no clear consensus on who was the leader. The one that *should* be the leader (and was in fact showing the team status indicators, so Jamba thought he was the leader) would start following one of the other toons. Even if I switched master, the new master would be following someone else. A re-log fixed the problem but it ocurred again later.

I also noticed that the Jamba leader wasn't actually being auto-promoted to group leader any more, like it was in 0.2 - is that a change to be expected or perhaps an option I missed somewhere in the config?

Thanks.Don't have her characters in your Jamba and vice verse and you should be OK. Absolute worst case you may need to change teh tags from "all" to "allmine" and "allhers".

The more I think about it, the ability to force her alts to follow you could be useful, and vice verse.

How can i turn off/turn on/toggle following strobing on the slave(s)./jamba-follow strobeonme <tag> - This will cause all players with <tag> to follow you and re-follow once every N seconds as set in the config.

/jamba-follow strobeoff <tag> - This will cause all players with <tag> to STOP issuing the follow strobe. They will NOT stop following, they just won't issue /follow every N seconds until y ou turn the strobe back on.

as well to follow a particular target (the target does NOT have to be set up in Jamba)

Example:

/jamba-follow target NameOfToonToFollow all

If there is anything I can do to help you in this situation Mithryx, please don't hesitate to ask.

So you're saying that as long as I add just "charA" and "charB" in my master, and the same on my slave, I can then Push to Characters without her Jamba clients getting any of it? Currently I have just "all" defined (default), so if I change that to "AllMine" on both my shamans, and then use /jamba-follow master allMine it wont effect her either.

It does make alot of sense, thanks alot :) I will be trying this when we get back home.

Edit: a post got in between, have to read more and edit if needed ;)

This issue (leader switching seems random) is fixed in 0.3b. The auto-promote leader is working for me. The option to set this is in Jamba-Group and it's called "Auto Promote Master To Leader". If you are still having trouble with it, please post back here and I'll look a little deeper for you.

Really loving this addon, thank you so much for making it Jafula!

One thing I noticed when I started playing with it last night though, was that if I have all my alts following the main, and then change main, the previous alts are still following the old main, and thats fine.
But, if i then hit my follow key, making the alts follow the new main, the character that is the new main is still following the old main until I start moving.
Now, the only issue I have with this, is that when I start moving on the new main, that character calls out the follow broken warning.

Could you make it so that a character won't call out breaking follow if they are currently the main?
Or at least a toggleable option.

How do you start moving? Using a movement key? I don't have the follow broken problem you are describing after switching masters. Are you using Jamba to initiate the follow, i.e.

/jamba-follow master all

Jamba shouldn't complain about follow breaking if you break follow with a movement key or another /follow. Initiating follow using Jamba will also stop some annoyances as well.

Let me know your answers to these questions and if you are still having problems, I can add that option in...

Thanks for this add-on Jafula. I had been using twoboxtoolkit & ZQB and never knew about this addon till the others weren't updated and I came here looking.

I have a request about the pop up box that comes up when you turn in a quest that requires a reward choice, is there anyway you could either add an option to not pop up this box?

Oh and thanks for making flight nodes by name!Hey, you are welcome!

It's a big error like window that pops up in the middle of the screen saying that a reward choice is needed. I'm able to choose the reward on my master then complete the quest but then have to click the big red [OK] button on each of the slaves' windows. If you need a SS I can get one later when I do my dailies up in Kil'jaeden area.

Now that I think about it I wonder if the box is coming from Sickofclickingdailies mod instead. Will check it out and let you know.

Thanks again.

In 0.3b, how do you disable the constant, "Not Targeting!" spam? I cannot find an option where they aren't constantly spamming me with this.

My slaves use:
/assist [target=party1]
/cast Whatever

or

/cast [target=party1target] Whatever

Happened while doing a fresh install of jamba on my toons to update to latest version. My slaves preferences weren't updating even though I was pushing stuff through, so I I opened up the jamba prefs in their screens which caused teh pushed updates to cascade in, and then this error started up.

Hello, i might make a post thats already been made by someone, but its so many posts and im really noob at theese kind of things... Anyway ive tried the addon, its working ok i guess.. but i cant get my slaves to /w me when they break follow or when someone msg them. Another problem i got is that my slaves wont fly where i fly. The last thing is that i would like to know how i can change "master" fast. so my slaves will follow the "new" master. I added all my slaves to my jamba list, and promoted my main char to "master". Its like the addon wont do as its told, auto accept ress is working and auto repair/sell grays, thats pretty much it :p

Perhaps the following account will be useful.

It may be co-incidence, but the problem happened only once, and it was just after my first and only wipe (trying to kill Durn when your heal macro doesn't work = bad!).

The auto-promote to group leader was working fine, leading switching was normal, and everything was groovy until Durn flattened the team. I switched leader/PiP to one of the shammies, self-ressed, ressed the paladin, switched back leader to the paladin (my normal leader, toon1) and continued the resses. Heal, rebuff. After everyone was ready again, I hit the follow button, but the paladin was trying to follow one of the shamans (the one that ressed her). I tried switching leader a few times, and noticed that the WoW group leader icon never moved from the shaman that had started the resses.

I saw Jamba messages saying something like

Toon1: Focus target is now toon1 (I forget the exact wording)
Toon2: Focus target is now toon1
Toon3: Focus target is now toon1
... etc ...

whenever I swtiched master, each time correctly indicating the desired master, and the Jamba team display, which is set only to appear on the master, appeared on desired master's screen. Which indicates to me that Jamba believes the right toon is the leader. Yet the "crown" leader icon never got moved back to that toon and the paladin insisted on following the shaman that started the resses.

A re-log on all toons fixed the problem.

Great addon. Just started dualboxing and quite a few of these features are quite nice. Few suggestions:
1. Queue the editing of the macro if you are in combat to occur when you leave combat. I dont know if this would keep it secure or not, but itd be a nice addition.

2. Make an assist hotkey. This is pretty easy(Ive already edited the target one to fit my needs, but I dont want to change it everytime you update). Basically, just check if the char its on is the master, if so leave the macro blank. If not, set it to /assist master.

3. If you do two, please do not give it an insanely long name. I didnt change the name of the button in it for fear I would break it, so for me to call my /assist in my macros for targetting I have to do:
/click JambaSecureButtonSetMasterAsTarget
Thats around 40 more characters for any given macro. Considering the macros have a character limit, itd be nice to have a much smaller name.

Pretty much, those three changes would make my life easy. I basically trade masters all the time as part of my playstyle and changing assists on the fly is important to me. Great addon though.

And by this way people can add the main char to the friend list instead of one of your clones ...Jamba does send a clickable link through with the default settings.

Type /jamba and then select "Jamba-Comms" from the left. Select the "Chat" tab and make sure the option "Show System Messages In Default Chat (On Master)" is checked. Then click "Push To Characters".

Now select "Jamba-Talk" on the left and select the "Options" tab. Make sure that the options "Forward Whispers And Relay" and "Request Who Information" are checked. Then click "Push To Characters".

Now your master will get a clickable link in there default chat window to the original whisperer when one of your slaves gets a whisper.

this maybe a dumb question ;) , but i use TwoMultiboxToolkit and there you can whisper your toons with "followme" to set them to follow modus? How do you set your Toons with Jamba to Auto-Follow after break? Can you control that from the master or do you need a macro on each toon? You can use the command

/jamba-follow master all

to get all the toons to follow the Jamba master. You only need to call this from the master.

There is an option in Jamba-Follow called "Auto Follow After Combat". Make sure you have that checked if you want your toons to auot follow after combat has ended.

Does that answer all your questions?

You seem to be showing experience in the range 1-100%, rather than 0-99%. i.e. when my toon has just gained a level he's shown at 1%, not 0%. When she's about to level, she's shown at 100%, not 99%. If you've not reached the next level, then you can't be 100% of the way there! :) Thanks. I've fixed that issue; will come out in the next release.

I have changed the code to work around this condition and not error. The fix will be available in the next release.

It sounds like there was a bit of lag with wow while pushing. You don't need to open the preferences screen for the pushing to work. The team/comms stuff can take a while to come through.

Besides that, just logging out and back in again on all your toons should fix the issue. Another workaround would be to turn off the team display gui. If you are still having problems let me know.

I found another thing that isn't a bug, but I wanted to know if there was a way to turn off it's messages.

Here's the situation: last night I modified my setup to use the command to switch the master combined to my key to change screens (pip in keyclone). that way when i make toon no3 my main screen, he becomes the master and party leader. I added a keybind to the set focus and that works great, so far so good.

Now, everytime I change screens, I'll get a message in my chat window from each new slave saying that the master has changed and to press my keybind to reset the focus properly. I understand it's use, but is there a way to turn off those messages? Or maybe just make it a single message in the middle of the screen similar to when a slave breaks follow or gets attacked? It's minor, and great the first few times, but once you get used to always hitting your keybind for resetting the focus, those messages feel unecessary.

Thanks!I added this option into 0.3 for you. To stop the messages, go into the /jamba interface, select the "Switch" tab and uncheck the "Display Switch Message On Focus/Target Update" option, and click the "Push To Characters" button.

For both options on changing master, it says "Note: This option is PVE only and you should use it only if you do not frequently change masters."

Does this mean there is no PvP prefered option? (I am currently using a focusless, leaderless system using keyclone's hotstring abilities and the use of various modifiers)

Does this mean there is no PvP prefered option? (I am currently using a focusless, leaderless system using keyclone's hotstring abilities and the use of various modifiers)Addons cannot change macros in combat. Jamba uses macro to /target master and /focus master. Therefore if you PVP and switch masters a lot; Jamba isn't going to update its these macros while you are in combat, making them essentially useless.

Personally I don't PVP, but I set my master as focus and just use /target focus or /cast [target=focustarget] for my macros. So I don't actually use either of those two options anyway.

How you want to run with your team is up to you. I've tried to make Jamba be flexible and not dictate how you should do things. After all Jamba is an assistant.

Jafula

I'll add an assist option in for you. I had target only, because that's what I built for myself (Jamba primarily is built for my use). I don't use /assist (but I might soon, as the new patch makes me want to try my Shamans as melee). Jamba now grows as I want things and as you (the community) request things.

There is a big old backlog of requests though and some small bugs piling up as well as the documentation I need to complete, so plenty of work on.

Hi,

I've been experimenting with Master looter to ensure I don't miss any tradeskill recipes. It's flagged up a wish item and a problem (at least for me).

Firstly would it be possible to get an option to set master looter as well as free-for-all?

and Secondly the Jamba opt out of loot option does not seem to work for me. If I right click each toons portrait in thier session I can set the (can't remember the actual option name) opt out of loot to yes and everything is great. The master can loot every corpse for trash and cash with the option to send any green or better drops straight to another toon. Jamba just does not seem to change this option, or perhaps I'm misreading the intended operation of Jamba group?

I've not tried the master looter settings with quest items, but I assume the individual toons will need to loot those, but then, we have to do that anyway. Overall the advantages of ML & pass on loot are potentially great if you have tradeskills (and possible BOP patterns dropping) on slave toons. Who knows if I've already missed some....

Oh, one last thing. Huge thanks for the effort you're putting in on this addon. It is reducing the addon clutter and complications of my multibox setup enormously.

Your dedication to Jamba is truly appreciated, Jafula. I can't multibox without it anymore, hell, I won't even singlebox without it. Thanks for .3b!Heh, no problem! Anyone want to test the newly added donate button on my website ('http://wow.jafula.com/addons/jamba') ? :P (Jamba will always be free.)

Tested! Thanks for the excellent efforts so far.

I had just downloaded the WoW addon studio kit ( http://www.codeplex.com/WarcraftAddOnStudio/ ) and started looking into hacking multiboxer2 when you posted your first version, thank you for saving me from myself.

Jamba just does not seem to change this option, or perhaps I'm misreading the intended operation of Jamba group?

...

Oh, one last thing. Huge thanks for the effort you're putting in on this addon. It is reducing the addon clutter and complications of my multibox setup enormously.
Sure, the master looter was supposed to come out in the last release. I'll make sure its a priority for the next release. Not sure why opt out of loot is not working, it should work as you assumed. I will take a look when I can. Thanks for describing your loot method; I'm going to try it out for my team. :)

And you're welcome, I'm glad Jamba is useful for folk.

not sure if this is still a pending fix, but my druid is still proclaiming that she's low on mana whenever her rage bar drops too low or whenever her energy bar drops too low. i actually like the warnings now, but would rather have it say Low Rage! when rage is low, or Low Energy! when energy is low instead of Low Mana! whenever any of the three bars are low. thanks a bunch!! addon rocks nonetheless. =]

Just adding in that auto trade accept from Jamba Group might be a useful feature...not that its hard to press one button to accept.

Hi, many thanks for this addon, it has been a real boon. I have a quick question about when I am running on a single toon only though - what I am seeing is a lot of spam on start about my slave/master not being logged on, presumably as the system tries to send messages to them. However, I also see periodic message failures during a session even if I have removed all of the characters from the team list. Is this expected, and/or is there any way to stop it or disable the addon when I am running in single toon mode? If not, would it be possible to have a general on/off switch for everything/particular features?

Also as a general looting question, the discussion on master looter made me wonder if it is possible to run in this mode and allocate quest items to slaves, or do they not turn up as allocatable? (at the moment I simply flick between them to check the loot - or when collecting make sure that I loot from the slaves first so that the master always shows the corpse as sparkling if there are items to grab, which makes searching for things in the environment a little easier)

You used to be able to set master loot threshold to poor (grey) quality items which would have been awesome for looting quest items to alts, but the functionality was removed (around the time people were using it to exploit the vashj encounter) :(

Well first of all, thanks for all the effort you put into your really fantastic mod :)

And speaking of I wonder if it would be possible to get one of these nifty config minimap icons. I know, typing 'jamba' in the console isn't a big deal but especially on my toons I would really love that.

Last but not least, any chances of actually being able to save/load different jamba settings?

I usually run different setups in terms of groups and being able to switch on the fly would come handy.

I do apologize of some of these things have been mentioned before. I usually keep a good eye on this thread but just in case I missed it.

And once again, thanks for all your work and dedication - really appreciated.

This addon is making my life so much easier, so a big thank you.

However, I cannot get any relaying to work. I have checked just about everything in the talk module, as well as the comms module. When a follow is broken, the slave will let me know in party chat but not whisper as I have selected. Also, when someone whispers the slaves it will not relay it in whisper or any other way.

Is there something I am missing? I have "Push"ed the settings to all 3 members of my team.

Now I do have a question or two as well:

How is the auto-promote master supposed to work - when my main leaves and joins the group again or my main gets DCd, Jamba won't promote my main to leader again.. why?

And (my second question) what does the focus actually do, because none of my toons does have a focus set, even if it says "Focus set to....". I always have to set the focus manually to my main.

Edit:
Now this website does seem to have some serious time/date issues... the latest posts, before mine, are in the future, so the order is kinda messed up right now..

Two bugs, but they're sometimes there and sometimes not. No clue why.

1. Warn If Target Not Master On Combat (Slave) is not enabled on either Hunter team or Shaman team.
I never have this issue with the shaman's, but frequently have it with the hunters - basically spammed that the master is not their target.
The only way to disable it, if it decides to spam this, is to exit the game and restart. Sometimes its gone, sometimes its there.
Note: my options are the same in Jamba, regardless of whether I get this spam or not.

2. Rarely after switching my PiP to a new toon, and promoting them to leader of the party, my Jamba follow will insist on following the previous leader.
Sometimes spamming the Jamba commands Make Me Leader and Follow Leader all will fix this, other times I have to exit the game for it to fix.

The frustrating part is that I have no clue what causes this.
Sometimes its there, other times its not, and my options have not changed.

As far as addons since the patch, I'm using:
- Auctioneer 5.1
- EquipCompare
- FuBar (Friend Fu, Guild Fu, Money Fu)
- Jamba 0.3b
- Map Notes
- MozzFullWorldMap

Haven't bothered to find updates to the others, so they're disabled.
- Recount

Hi Jafula,

Thanks for the quick response! All my toons are enabled, for sure. They are all listed and checked on all 3 clients.

Another wonky thing is that I have the GUI showing on all 3 clients even though I pushed "Only Show GUI on Master" to all 3 clients. All 3 clients get the white-text "Settings updated" so I know the pushes are working, but the addon doesn't seem to actually do the things I ask of it. =P

I am using the same wow.exe on all 3 clients (due to the fact that copying my original client does not work and I no longer have the install disc so I'm pooched in that regard). Could this be causing issues?

Perhaps you should do the old Blizzard trick and delete your wtf, interface, cache folders (well just move them away) and see if that solves the problem. Check that wow has permission to write to the wtf folder. Wow in program files on vista causes issues if you are not full administrator (for PCs). Ummm, other than that, a bit stuck for ideas...

Jamba promotes the master to leader only when you change the master (like /jamba setmeasmaster all). Jamba can only promote the master to the leader if one of the other toons is the leader already. So in you case, after a disconnect, just run your make me a master macro again.
And (my second question) what does the focus actually do, because none of my toons does have a focus set, even if it says "Focus set to....". I always have to set the focus manually to my main. You need to keybind Jamba's set focus to master method - read the thread linked below...

"...ce\AddOns\Jamba\Libs\AceComm-3.0\ChatThrottleLib.lua:378: text length cannot exceed 255 byes." This message pops, if the message I am receiving is long.

Another weird thing we experienced, when people whispered me long texts .. I forwarded the whispers' I received to them somehow. Milat whispered Biuy with a long message (and Biuy got the above error) and Sandrina whispered Xiuy (my alt character). Aiuy was master, when Milat whispered Biuy with the long text. Biuy was Master, when Sandrina whispered Xiuy. To sum it up, I changed Master between the 2 whispers, I changed Master to the Biuy (to check the error message) that got the message above.

This is a message that my friend (Milat) received, from Biuy, when Sandrina (another friend) whispered me:
[From Biuy]: Xiuy: Sandrina: Give a bg spot!

From Biuy's interface it looked like this:
[From Aiuy]: Xiuy: Sandrina: Give a bg spot!
[To Milat]: Xiuy: Sandrina: Give a bg spot!

I am not sure if you get it, I am not even sure if I get it :-) I used alot of time to get it correct down with names and such .. double checked and got my friend to check it aswell! Should be right.

EDIT: This is probably easier.
1. Aiuy is master
2. Milat whispers Biuy
3. Aiuy don't receive the message
4. I notice the error on Biuy's screen
5. I switch master to Biuy, while the error is there.
6. Sandrina whispers Xiuy
7. The message is forwarded to Aiuy (from Xiuy), which should not be the leader. (I am not totally sure if they had different masters somehow)
8. Aiuy then forwards the message to Biuy (aka. [From Aiuy]: Xiuy: Sandrina: Give a bg spot!)
9. BUT Biuy also forwards it to Milat, which is not even in my "trust list". (aka. Milat gets [From Biuy]: Xiuy: Sandrina: Give a bg spot!)

It looks like they did have different master, but there's no explanation for forwarding to Milat? And if they did have different masters, I have no clue how.

It happens because I prepend the name of the original sender to the text. I'll add some logic in to split the text over two lines if it gets too big.

As for your problem after the error, my best guess is that once an error occurs, the addons behaviour is undefined. I don't know enough about the internals of wow lua to be able to tell you why the whispers were getting mixed up. I am assuming that without the error occuring, everything works.

~BBI have fixed this problem for the next release. But as a workaround before the release, could you make sure all your toons are in each others team list and enabled? Also turn on the team gui (with experience bars turned on) and make sure all your toons have this option set as well. That should stop the problem. If it doesn't, let me know.

While there are a few errors here and there, you're quick to fix things and add new features.

You can go into the Jamba-Follow options and turn auto follow after combat on if you want your toons to auto follow after combat is over.

Feature Request: Follow-Strobe-Pause-On-Combat.

A simple change to the follow strobe system that would be amazingly useful for hunters, melee, etc... This is a combination of auto-follow after combat and follow strobe. Ideally this would be a configuration setting on the individual client so you could have two casters follow a leader and melee charge in while a hunter stands still and shoots, etc...

When combat starts, follow strobing starts again. But set for individual toons. So if I use the tag system, you can add the tag 'pausestrobe' to your toons as appropriate. Then the Pause Follow Strobe In Combat option will have a single tag associated with it (you would enter 'pausestrobe').

Does that make sense?

(And if you want the current master to also be the party leader, you can set the promote option in Jamba Group.)Makes sense, however not working for me. Could it be conflicting with Keyclone? Since my pIp window change buttons are F8-F12, binding these macros to F8-12 doesn't seem to work.... I tried then binding all the macros to the numberpad, 1-5, and still, keeps playerA as master. I have 'auto promote master to leader' on in all, and I do see that the focus pic, of who is the focus changes correctly to the corresponding macro (i.e.) button 2 shows the focus of player b, button 3 shows the focus of player c, ... but they dont' follow, or auto promote the focus to leader or follow, toonA is kept as leader and followed, even in new windows when the focus is changed. Suggestions?

Suggestions? It seems to me that your toons are ignoring your commands! The only reason they would do this is if they were disabled in the team list. I know the gui's not ideal, but you need to make sure that the toons are checked in the team list. Checking their boxes "enables" them and then they will communicate with each other. Make sure once you have checked everyones boxes, that you click the "Push To Characters" button,

Yeah, I know, I should make a guild with myself already. But figured I'd note it if you haven't found out yet. :DOh, its not working anymore? Thanks, I'll check it out.

Question, I have the /jamba-follow master all macro on all my toons. When I switch windows, from Shockershama to Shockershame, and press it, it follows ShockershamA again instead of ShockershamE, how can I remedy this so that the current open window is the new master and followed as such?

Thanks!Ok, make sure on your each toon that in your macro command to switch that toon to the master that you have

/jamba-follow master all

and on the other toons, for that same key press, don't have any follow command at all.

So to toggle between A and B

F2 to make B master

So I have just got in the habit of double tapping the key when I change PiP.

Verified that each player is checked on all toons. Set leader to master is checked as well, still focuses correctly, but does not set focus as leader or follow focus, still follows Shockershama the main toon.

For all non 'master' toons, I have /focus Shockershama(or b,c,d,e) as the macro. For the toon I want to be leader and followed, I have,
This as my macro, no returns, written exactly as typed (sub the correct name for each toon... so for my 5th toon, Shockershame, this is the macro:

/focus Shockershame /jamba setmeasmaster all /jamba-follow master all

bound to the corresponding key... 1 for shama, 2 for shamb..etc to 5.

When I hit the desired key, it focuses, but does not follow, and still follows shamA.

I have a seperate follow macro bound to 'G' /jamba-follow master all

Suggestions?

Suggestions? All your toons have the "all" tag don't they?

I have been thinking about this some more; and I noticed that my follow macro is not on my set master macro. Perhaps the logic is getting mixed up here internally in Jamba and the master change has not happened when the follow command is issued. I cannot see how this would be the case, but I'll try you macro method with my toons and see what happens...

Could you perhaps try changing the last part of your macro to

/jamba-follow target Shockershame all

and see if that works?

Feature Request: Follow-Strobe-Pause-On-Combat.

A simple change to the follow strobe system that would be amazingly useful for hunters, melee, etc... This is a combination of auto-follow after combat and follow strobe. Ideally this would be a configuration setting on the individual client so you could have two casters follow a leader and melee charge in while a hunter stands still and shoots, etc...So when combat starts, follow strobing stops. When combat starts, follow strobing starts again. But set for individual toons. So if I use the tag system, you can add the tag 'pausestrobe' to your toons as appropriate. Then the Pause Follow Strobe In Combat option will have a single tag associated with it (you would enter 'pausestrobe').

Do I understand you correctly? So IN combat pauses for toons who have the tag "pausestrobe" without any keypress right?

Jafula

So IN combat pauses for toons who have the tag "pausestrobe" without any keypress right? Yes, without a keypress, it will stop strobing the /follow command. (And start strobing the /follow command when combat ends.)

But it won't actually stop any toons from following (you'll need a keypress to do that).

- RecountWow, I missed this post with the time problem. Thanks for reporting these issues. I'll have a look at them for you. I'll try to find out what is causing the not master on combat spam, and look a bit more closely at the follow code.

Can you add something like :
/jamba edit-macro <name> <tag> <content> Who edit the macro with the name specified for all toons with the tag.

The goal is to make on all of the toons, a bind to a "jamba-dynamic-macro" on a single key.
And on the main character, make a bar of button full of macro for non-combat stuff (buffing, emote, mount, invoc food ...)
Then the main will just have to click on the action he want (instead of binding and wasting a key to a non-critical action) and use the unique key binded to the "jamba-dynamic-macro".

I have wanted a command centre for a long time, where you could set up a few key binds, and change them just on one toon and have the other toons update these settings. Macros are it. This is cool and I like it, you have the right idea. I'd rather you set up a whole lot of macros already, then just choose one, and press the special key and it happens, rather than the command line option.

It's something I have wanted to do for a while, hopefully I can get it done sooner rather than later.

Hm, I experienced the forwarding to .. another player, that wasn't even on my trust list once again. It had something to do with master change, but not sure of the order or anything, cause I were in a hurry. Maybe you could check, if there's any flaws, which allows it to send to people not on the trust list? It's weird!

I'm a little late to this party, but I just installed Jamba last night and I'm really liking it. I have a few questions/suggestions, apologies if I'm just being dense.

- Is there a list anywhere of /slash commands Jamba supports? I don't see one on your site. In particular setting up a new group would go a lot faster if I could type /jamba master [name] once with key duplication on.

- Group invites -- Unless I'm just missing something, this is a bit awkward, as I have to bring up the jamba window and click the button to get the group put together.

- The Jamba status window is interesting, it would be nice if it offered some other functionality other than showing follower XP bars (as many of my toons are 70). Showing rep instead/if tracked would be sweet for those "fun" rep grinds. Also doing group invites via a button in that panel, or a right-click menu item, seems like a good addition. Clicking on a follower toon's follow status icon to toggle follow (or at least turn on follow) would rule.

- Fubar plug in to add a menu to fubar -- this would probably solve both the two above issues I have

- Profiles -- I have several boxing groups, because I have alt-itis ;) Setting up new groups is a little tedious tho as I'm using the same set of options for all my gorups, but these are not the default options. I can work around this by copying stuff around inside the jamba.lua data file but a UI for copying profiles (like Bartender, X-perl, etc) would be better. Granted, I only have to do this stuff once per new boxing group, but I'm OCD and hate it when I miss changing one of the options, only to be puzzled later when behaviors are not as I expect.

- The 'push to followers' is great, but does this push all settings, or just the settings on the page being viewed? If the latter, an option to do a global push for all settings would remove some of the tedium of setting up a new group.

- I haven't seen anything like this go off yet, but it would be nice if followers could inform the master of events like rep levelups (now exalted with Darnassus etc), profession skillups, etc.

- Using a channel for communication with the master rather than whispers seems buggy -- when I tell my toons to do that, they end up leaving the channel instead of joining it (they were already in it before I set up Jamba). I'll try it again tonight to make sure this is what I'm really seeing.

Keep up the great work. Paypal donation incoming ;)

First, ensure all your toons are on each others friends list.
Second, ensure all your toons are on your jamba team list (/jamba, team tab, add all toons to this list on each player)
Third, on your main toon, create the following macro: /jamba-group invite
Drag that maco to a bar, one click it, party auto accepts, you're good to go.

/jamba-group invite
/jamba-group disband

/jamba-follow target <toonname> <tag>
/jamba-follow master <tag>

To get your characters to follow your master, use the master command above, replace <tag> with "all". You only need to run this command on one toon. I like your idea about the click to follow. I can add options to change the experience bars to rep. Health as well is in the works.

I want to build a command centre; with some of the options you have mentioned. I'm adding a minimap button that will pop up the command centre / options screens.

At the moment, I'm not going to support FuBar or Titan or anything similar.

Profiles I could do, but I'm not too keen on them. Jamba allows you to add all your toons to the team list, and enable the ones that you are going to use for your current session and disable the rest. What about this system do you not like? I like the mix'n'match, all options configured already way Jamba is set up. Tags can be used to differentiate different types of toons. Sure, tweaking to be done.

A global push is probably not going to happen because of the time it takes. A team push already takes too long as it is. Pushing all the settings would take too long for my liking.

You can get the system information (rep level up,etc) , by adding parts of the information phrases to the system messages tab (?) in Jamba Talk. Have a look.

Let me know if the channel sorts itself out.

Thanks for the donation.

A minor cosmetic change to Jamba...

When you have characters following the master, and all toons have the flight path window open...
The slaves spam the master with, "Follow Broken", even though they're all taking the same flight.

Very minor, but it would be nice if they did not do this.

Jafula,

I was about to start expanding the Dual-Boxing.com wiki page for Jamba, but figured I should chat with you first. Would you mind if I go through and start adding the pertinent items from this post to the Wiki? Such as your slash command list and targeting functions.

Looking great. Im using Jamba (well just started) and the team display showing when autofollow breaks is fabulous, and I assume that it will show HP loss also. Should have been using this from the start. I hope that the merchant thing is as good as SelloMatic. Just knowing when autofollow breaks is a big big help, as is if someone is attacked, better then being sent messages.

Keyclone, Macaroon, Jamba - I'm Sam DeathWalker and I use and approve of these products!

P.S. Ill be sending you $10 soon!

Thanks for the follow and the list of / commands, that helps.

Let me know if the channel sorts itself out.
After using it more this weekend this really isn't that big a deal, I just have to remember to set up all the options when I take over with a different toon as master for the first time. Profiles would just let me do that with a single click, but that first run is all the value a profile system would really add (at least for me).

The channel thing seems fine now, not sure what was up before. Probably ghosts.

At the moment, I'm not going to support FuBar or Titan or anything similar.
Awwww. I'm now a sad panda. But not too sad, cause at least I have Jamba.

Rats the Jamba Team listing dosn't show HP, just Exp ...

HP would be 100 times more nicer then Exp. Still the autofollow fail is excellent.

I would imagine HP would be an easy thing...easy to say since I am not doing the work :)
Either way you could always create a transparent bar with Pitbull and scale it to fit over the experience bar.

I think jamba can have people out of group and out of raid in the team display. I dont think that pitbull can have people out of group or out of raid in display, let me check that though. Dosn't effect 5 boxers but its nice for me heh.

I know you where going to try to add in the shadow trance and the 3.0 patch broke the old code so here is the new code

function NightFallAlert_OnEvent()

if( event == "COMBAT_LOG_EVENT_UNFILTERED" ) then

if (arg2 == "SPELL_AURA_APPLIED") then

if (arg10 == "Shadow Trance") then

end

end

end

Does the /in even work anymore?

I tried /in with /say's and it just said /in was an unrecognized command.

Tynk
11-04-2008, 02:46 AM
/in does work with social commands, /say and the such

for those with a disire for helth in the display, I personally think that is asking for something that would just add redundancy with the unneeded as even the default ui gives you health of your group in the group ui.

moosejaw
11-04-2008, 04:53 AM
I think they were asking for the health in the jamba bars because sometimes your group get scattered when joining a bg. While all the other functions work great (i.e. focus targeting) there is still the issue of watching your clones if you don't do a raid pullout each time.

A minor cosmetic change to Jamba...

When you have characters following the master, and all toons have the flight path window open...
The slaves spam the master with, "Follow Broken", even though they're all taking the same flight.

Very minor, but it would be nice if they did not do this. You can stop this by pressing a movement key before you open the flight masters. But, yes, this is something I will try and fix for the next release.

Heh, I don't use any of those panels and I'd rather spend the time on other parts of Jamba. Ok, cool, profiles will be a hassle for me to code up, so glad your okay with what is there at the moment. Thanks for feeding back that the channel is okay now.

I think jamba can have people out of group and out of raid in the team display.Correct. That was one of the design goals of Jamba. You should be able to do most things in Jamba out of group (although it does not make much sense). The only part of Jamba that requires a group (party/raid) is Jamba-Target.

Thanks for nice addon, but I ran into a pretty annoying bug today. I am boxing 5 shamans and was doing http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=7861 I am using Jamba to complete quests and get same rewards on all chars and had no problems with it so far. But this time my main selected [Deep Woodlands Cloak] as reward and got it. Slave chars got another reward, [Woven Ivy Necklace], which is pretty useless for elem shammies :( All the previous quests were totally fine, but I'd suggest people to use manual reward selection for important quests for now.

There in fact may be a bug in Jamba (it is beta software). Having said that, I'm sorry you had this problem. I'll try and take some time to look at it. If anyone else has experience this, please speak up (here or send me a PM).

Do you have any other addons that could potentially alter the quest functionality?

I have used the different reward quest selection for a long time now and it has not caused me any issues (aside from the earlier bugs which are gone now).

Speaking of the quest reward selection or not, would it be possible to add an option that lets you still broadcast the "complete quest" button even without the reward selection broadcasted?
This would allow me to select the reward on each character before hitting complete on the main and everyone getting the reward they selected. Thus letting everyone still complete the quest at the same time.
I guess this is kind of a minor thing since i have to click something in all the windows anyway, but it would return the satisfaction of having them all level up at the same time in the case of a quest that is the last xp needed to ding ;)

I like it. There are many ways to view health already, but a consolidated minimalistic status display with follow, health, etc...awesome. Having to move and refocus your eyes takes attention, and multiboxers never have enough to go around.

Are you planning to update it with options for mana/rage/energy/runes/runic power? And does this exclude the XP bars you currently have in the follow pane? (Keeping the consolidated XP check is nice, but less pressing to know than health status.)

(Keeping the consolidated XP check is nice, but less pressing to know than health status.)No, not unless someone specifically asks for something. At the moment, you can toggle between health and xp, but not display both. I imagine if you wanted power types (mana, rage, etc) you would want that as well as health, which means more bars making it look less clean, and more addon traffic to send the power information between toons.

although it does not make much sense

I'm the 26 boxor. So I have 6 seperate groups up all the time to take advantage of RAF. Raid exp is very poor so I am in groups.

With the autofollow / health team thing on my main I can keep track of the 25 followers from my mains screen, even though they are in differnt groups. I had been using 3rd person view on all but the main to kinda keep track of whats going on (I have 6 computers to one keyboard and 6 monitors - www.samdeathwalker.com) but this is way way better! Great Work!

I've had a look at this code and made a small change to it (but I'm not 100% sure it will help). After you get the next release of Jamba, please do let me know if you keep getting this problem.

and Secondly the Jamba opt out of loot option does not seem to work for me. Not sure if I've posted this already (silly long thread). You found a bug, where the opt out of loot was not actually working. I've fixed the problem for the next release and made it so the master character does not opt out of loot as well. An auto set master loot option has been added as well (using the master character as the master looter).

Ok, although I am new to this board posting I have lurking this forum for some time now and would like thank all of you but you Jafula in paticulair for creating such a sweet multibox add-on like Jamba. Having blasted through classic/vanilla wow I now find myself in Outland which, I must say, requires some more thorough multibox skill/setup/tools than the one I had been using before and Jamba seems to fit in nicely with that.

One of the things I could really use some help with is Jamba-target; as far as I can tell from what I have been reading thusfar (but don't hasitate to tell me to read certain posts which I might have skipped) Jamba-target is just that, a nice way of targetting your mobs before the pull to help in following the intended kill order once pulled (I currently use /assist <main> macro as to not switch dps everytime my tank switches target). I also understand that the current version is still not ready when confronted with same-named-mobs (not yet onto the unique identifier). I also understand that it is not by-design a CC tool (not meaning it can not be used as such).

So in short my question is when/if you think switching over to unique identifiers for jamba-target will be anytime soon and what your thoughts are in regards to a CC solution (I run a simple palitank,resto-shaman, 3x mage team so could use a better CC solution than the one I am using right now which is 3 buttons for focus/raid-target for each mage).

I am also still still a bit confused about your thoughts in regards to tags in combination with jamba-target so perhaps a little post once you feel jamba-target is ready (gets included in your web page) using examples would be nice (if others already make use of the tags please enlighten me as to how to use them succesfully).

Have you been using Jamba-Target?

Blizzard have made it so an addon cannot target mobs by their unique identifier. However, addons can watch a mobs stats (health) by using their unique identifier and this is what Jamba-Target does, in combination with /targetexact MobName macros.

With regards to CC, I have finished an update to Jamba-Target that lets you edit the internal target macro. So you can make the button press do a polymorph if you wish (as I have done, see screenshot). You will notice the #MOB# in the macro, which is replaced by Jamba with the name of the actual mob.

As for the tags, the tags dictate which characters get the target command. So for the moon raid icon, only my mage sees the target command (even though the warrior is the one that marks the target).

My macros have been changed, so that my slaves all try to dps their existing target before moving onto their focustarget as such. This means, I can target my slaves on a mob, and tank away multiple mobs without the slaves switching target (much like your /assist). In case the slaves target a mob behind them or get stuck on a mob your not interested in, I have added a clear target keybinding, which clears the target for all your toons.

For instance my shaman dps:

/target [target=target, harm, nodead][target=focus-target, harm, nodead]
/castsequence reset=5 Chain Lightning, Lightning Bolt, Lightning Bolt, Lightning Bolt

Also, you can hold a particular target (mob name), rather than tracking a mobs health. This is great for instances where you always sheep a particular named mob. I ran through Ramps and Blood Furnace using this system (not been in any instances since). It was nice, to pretarget the mobs and then leave the tank free to tank.

I'll get onto the docs some time...

Please post other questions if you have any!

Good morning Jafula,

I will add my heartfelt thanks to those of many of the other posters here for a great mod. One suggestion (or maybe just a question).

I see that in your list of commands you have (found here:[Addon] Jamba - An assistant for multiboxers. 7th Update - 0.3b released. ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=142561&highlight=jamba+commands#post142561')) jamba enablemember and jamba disablemember.

I guess my question is this (sorry it takes me a sec to get to the point, bolded the important part below): If you are running with a changing group setup, each time you log in youll have to access the jamba window and check / uncheck the members of your group so that the commands are broadcast to the correct characters (with me so far?). My idea was to have a hotbar setup wtih some different group compositions that I would click depending on who i was going to play with (predetermined teams).

So I would have a macro setup that would say

/jamba enablemember char1
/jamba enablemember char2
...
so on

For my 5 characters for that particular group. However, I am assuming id need to first uncheck any people not in my group. So I am wondering is there any way I can do a global uncheck. Because, i think youll agree that having to put /jamba disablemember charX for ALL of your possible characters would be cumbersome (plus there is a character limit in macros). So I guess I am asking is there any way I can do something like /jamba disableallmembers that would uncheck all characters, and then I can go ahead and add my 5 group members. Or, is there some other way to go about setting up the group that im not thinking of?

Thanks for your time.

**EDIT** Changed it to jamba enablemember instead of jamba addmemeber

There is currently no way to do what you want (global uncheck), but your suggestion of the command to do that is excellent. I'll add that one (/jamba disableallmembers) into Jamba for you. You will have noticed that those commands do not have tags with them, hence they only affect the current character they are executed on. I'll also add a command line option to "push to characters". (Unless you want to setup the same macro on all your toons?)

I'll also shorten the commands as well...

/jamba disableall
/jamba enable char1
/jamba enable char2
/jamba enable char3

I'm going to add a small gui that you can access from a minimap button to do this (as well as /jamba-group invite and /jamba-group disband), but thats not coming in the next release.

Awesome response time..

No your push to character command sounds good, anything to automate stuff is great. One question, I guess this doesnt really matter but... I was under the impression that push to team referred to the specific page you were on ONLY in the jamba configuration module... what would, in the command line scenario, /pushteam refer to (since you have no screens up)? youd have to change how that works no? Thats neither here nor there, however you can make it work would be awesome! =) Push to team and then whoever the current master has checked gets checked on the others, sounds good to me.

Thanks for your help.

So thats master, all characters and their enabled status. The push team command will push all those settings in their current form (e.g. if you have issued a setmaster command, the current master would get pushed).

There is also are tag, switch and display tabs, each with their own internal Jamba push command (which I won't expose to the slash commands).

This has probably been brought up before, but does Jamba constitute "illegal automation"? I never saw it mentioned in the wiki with the various GM conversations.
I tried searching, but there's a lot of mention of Jamba in these forums, makes it hard to weed through.

I'm new to dualboxing, now trying to take advantage of RAF as I reroll on a new server with friends. I'm excited to try Jamba, but some of it seems like it may be in the ToS/EULA grey area.

Can someone clarify this for me?

Thanks.

While a GM / dev hasnt commented on every Add on / piece of software out there, what they have made quite clear is situations in which they think automation is occurring. There are many many experienced boxers on here ( I myself am a newb ) who are very cautious and familiar with the TOS and that wouldnt be endorsing this add on unless it was kosher.

You can see some of the conversations in the stickies at the top of these forums.

Hope that was helpful.

I see Nightfall alert is in the works, that will be so great!

Also any kind of instant spell procs like Backlash, etc... I dualbox with a warlock as my slave and it's been hard to tell when his procs are going. That will be a very nice addition!

Blizzard has made it so you cannot do "illegal automation" in World of Warcraft Addons (addons have to behave according to Blizzard rules). Other software programs that are not addons need to be approached very carefully. Jamba is a WoW addon. Using any WoW addon is fine and shouldn't get you into trouble.

Edit: If Blizzard want to stop certain addon behaviour, they usually change the wow api code that addons can call.

Edit: Well, apparently addons can be used for malicious purposes and it is up to Blizzard to decide what is unfair or not.

I see Nightfall alert is in the works, that will be so great!

Also any kind of instant spell procs like Backlash, etc... I dualbox with a warlock as my slave and it's been hard to tell when his procs are going. That will be a very nice addition!Yup, the plan is to add a new module to handle all that.

Is there any way to not follow when I'm drinking besides using the

/jamba-follow strobeoff all
/in 30 jamba-follow strobeon focus??
/use conjured mana bisket

Ah, zanthors follow strobing. I think you have the best way of doing what you want in that macro

Ok I fixed this real quick... It's dirty and my first lua script lol. I'm sure you can come up with a more elegant way to integrate this, but this solution works great and solves my slaves from moving when I start drinking.... The /in workaround causes a lot of bad side effects, especially when I'm trying to blaze through a dungeon fast.

This has probably been brought up before, but does Jamba constitute "illegal automation"?Blizzard has made it so you cannot do "illegal automation" in World of Warcraft Addons (addons have to behave according to Blizzard rules). Other software programs that are not addons need to be approached very carefully. Jamba is a WoW addon. Using any WoW addon is fine and shouldn't get you into trouble.

Edit: If Blizzard want to stop certain addon behaviour, they usually change the wow api code that addons can call.
That's not true. There are many things that one could do with addons that are illegal. The scripting system is of course made in such a way that these possibilities are minimized, but you can definitely be creative enough to get yourself banned.

Some examples of addons that might get you a ban:
- An addon that spams players.
- An addon that gathers names of players (or other info) and saves it into settings files (just like the auctioneer tool saves its statistics). (datamining is illegal)
- An addon that is like the minimap but offers a complete command-center interface and automatically keeps sending messages to players with the directives that were decided by the raid leader. The raid leader could select people or groups of people and then click on the action they should be doing. This addon would track all the behavior and would tell people what to do (e.g. go to X) until they do it (e.g. when they are in a 10 yard range).

Customer Service GM's have repeatedly stated that you can NOT be banned for using WoW addons :)

Any GM that would state such a thing would be a liar. (assuming that he knows the Blizzard policies)
Let me quote from http://www.wow-europe.com/en/policy/exploitation.html

We definitely want people to create their own UIs utilizing custom menu configurations, graphics, and even sounds. Anything that can be coded to modify the style and the look of the UI is fair game, as long as the modifications are done to the sanctioned internal files of the game. However, anything done to the UI to gain any sort of an unfair advantage over other players is unacceptable.

If a player is found to have modified a UI so that they gain an unfair advantage in the game over others, he/she may:

* Be temporarily suspended from the game
* Have further action taken, up to and including account closure, based on the intent of the modification

UI modifications go through script, so this proves that you could script something that can get your account banned.
Of course what is "unfair" is completely decided by Blizzard.

I found a minor issue:
When you have a player in your team, but this player is not online, then you get a lot of warnings on the other characters that this player does not exist. The warning messages are system messages(yellow) in the main chat log.
At this point I solve it by unchecking the checkbox of a character when he's not in my team, but it would be awesome if you could somehow implement a "Exists" validation before trying to send stuff to a character.

Im not losing any sleep over getting banned from using an add on. They are faily tight in what you can modify or do with an addon. And has anyone in fact been banned for using a add on?

Ya I get that spam about offline guys also.

I can well understand that you dont want to add to much in (as it is Jamba is very very cpu friendly) but adding mana and hp bars, and a target and target of target frame in the team display would allow users to junk X-pearl or Pitbull. Also as your product keeps growing at some point you can just plain charge like $9.99 or something. I mean I dont see why someone would not pay a minimal price for a ready to roll multibox add on set up. If you had a pre made full UI similar to Cath or something (keeping CPU usagae to a minimum which is obviously critical to boxers) with Jamba you easy could just charge a flat fee (exspically if you had a way for the slaves to get the UI also with ease when there is a update).

I was under the impression that data mining is when you exploit the data in a stream that is not already available to the public. Auctioneer is not showing you information that is private or privy only to Blizzard it is only organizing that public information for you. At least that is the way I understand it, perhaps I am wrong.

Either way Blizzard has left it general enough to take whatever action they deem necessary.

now back to talk of Jamba!

in the wow it reads they add ons in the add on folder which are frames and and api& event triggers within lue. xml. tog. you can not make any new api's that blizzard has not put in it is not possible for a add on to be "illegal" if it was BLizzard would change it so those triggers can not be implemented into wow.... now on other notes for what this forum is about

I love this add on it is amazing if I would like to see anything it would be casting bars and members targets I love you even if you do not put that in hehe

Yow! I'm glad to hear that you've email wowaccountadmin@blizzard.com regarding this situation, and it might be a very good idea to let them know that you believe that your account was compromised when this situation occurred.

Unfortunately, there isn't much more I'm able to do on this end, but I genuinely wish you the very best of luck.

Edit: For reference, this had nothing at all to do with Addons.

Well, if it's a true 'addon', then it should be fine. You can consult our UI & Macros forum for more information, though will state that we do not typically ban for Addons, and that there is likely much more going on.

No, because, as I stated earlier, we do not ban for the use of mods or addons. If you have questions about a particular addon, then it's a good idea to check our UI & Macro forum for more information.

I had a system to do this in place in the very first release of Jamba. It worked fine for some users (including me) and other users couldn't even play the game (see the first two pages in this thread). The system used the friends list to see if the character was connected. T've since tried to find out if a character exists or not with other methods. There is a wow API command called UnitExists, but it only works for party/raid and potentially characters you have interacted with. I know its not good enough for Jamba's purposes, so you are stuck with disabling offline characters.

Building Unitframes is a full time job all in itself or could be. Pitbull and others allow enough custom abilities to create the bars you want. I fear that this mod might grow to large myself. The addition of buy and sell is outstanding but again there are mods that do that very effectively now and while this has allowed me to do away with those mods I would have been just as happy without this feature.

what I am excited about is the targetting featues. I do not use them yet but I see so much potential.

Keep up the great work I can not tell you how much we appreciate it.

Jamba target:
- the jamba bind for clear target just seems the same as pressing escape. Isnt it meant to clear the target #? Atm relogging seems to be the way to clear the list :(
- the macro's don't do anything. I cleared the /targetexact line replaced it with /polymorph, but the slave toon's jamba bind to target just targetted the mob as before... no poly with or without a /targetexact line. The macro was on the slave.
- the /jamba settarget command on the wiki doesn't register.

what if, jamba-follow had an option to form a follow chain automatically. :)

ok, can't wait to try this new version some more. Howeve4r, you are refering to jamba-target and macro's, a quick glance over the options menu does not show me the tab I saw in one of your screenshots for jamba-target. Are we supposed to make macro's using wow's own macro feature or is there supposed to be a seperate macro screen which I am missing ?

edited:

Ok, it seemed by just copying over the new version not all files got updated by Vista which resulted in a mixed bag. I have now deleted the original folder in my interface dir and cleanly installed Jamba 0.4 and I now have the additional macro tab inside my jamba-target settings.

Absolutely LOVING this add-on - thanks much - it's much superior to MultiBoxer :-)

A few feature suggestions:

- Showing reputation-bar in main window (instead of healt/experience)

- Option to count amount of accepted quests. When doing dailies, sometimes the add-on due to lag or whatever, misses a click and only 4 of 5 chars accept the quest - it would be great if the chat on the master could read something like "Accepted quest: The AIrstrikes Must Continue (5)" instead of five individual lines. That way I wouldn't have to check the individual screens or the main questlog every time :)

- Option to warn of full inventory on slaves (I'm not sure if this already exists)

I absolutely love:

- The sheer amount of configuration options
- The autobuy option (/cheer)

Hello Jafula,

I'm actually thinking about a new feature that could be really cool to have included into your wonderfull addon:

It's the group target display 8)

Let me develop, I had one time an addon that was allowing me to see what was the target of any player in the group, I think the addon was X-perl or something... by that time I was not multiboxing, but re-thinking about that possibilty, I think that could be really cool to see at one glance what is the target of each slaves before entering combat mode :D

Else ... Just keep up the good work Jafula !

... there can be only one! Perl Classic Unit Frames ('http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/perl-classic-unit-frames.aspx') has a "group target frame" so you can always see what alle the other toons has targeted - priceless ^^

Im having an issue with master looting wtih jamba and im not sure if its because im misunderstanding what the addon is supposed to do in that regard.

My thoughts are... if you have it to auto select master looter... and you have it set to change group leader to master, that it should also change the master looter to the group leader when you switch. So if char1 is leader and masterlooter.. if i switch to char2, it will switch him to master looter. It doesnt appear to be behaving this way at this time.

I can right click my portrait and select a new master looter that way.

Am I misunderstanding what the add on is supposed to be doing with master looting?

Thanks for your help.
