I think random BGs just about killed PvP for me

Comon guys =D its not that bad, you got more honor adn you complain?

If u wanna do a single specefic bg it is not as good as it used to be, but this im pretty sure is a bug.
If u use the random tool, its swift and u get all the bgs and fast honor. Yeah you do get wsg ab and sota wich is harder for us, but just look at it like some free training. PvP is more than av zergs =)

I'm pretty sure breaking direct queues was intentional for the time being in an effort to get people to try the random queue system and learn to like it, because if everything stayed entrenched queuing for AV all day the whole thing might not work as well as it does. That being said, I like the new system, I like not having to wait 15 minutes between each BG anymore and I was already rotating bg's before this change for two reasons. Faster honor from the marks ( now from the random system ) and learning to adapt my setup to different situations, not just face-rolling on my keyboard behind a wall of team-mates one shotting under-geared people in AV.

Considering we just got a way to farm honor 2x faster or better I'm really surprised how negative some people are about the change. I know the smaller bg's can suck, at first, if your under-geared but they really can make you a better boxer if you learn how to play them competitively I believe.

That's because it's not about the honor gain. I actually dont think anyone is unhappy about the random queuing with extra rewards (at least i'm not). It's about the side effect of that process that makes queue times for a specific battleground very very high, basically forcing everyone to use it when they might want to just queue with some friends for a quick game of WSG before work.

Edit: I can certainly understand some peoples frustration though. Its almost like the XP shut off or the twink BG queues and we all know how that has turned out.


Edit2: On Nightfall I did a queue solo(not random) just now for wsg and waited 6min. Things are not so bad. ;p

There are 2 different motivations to do a battlegrounds which get mixed up here.

1. fun, enjoy it.
2. honor farming.

Yes, it's nice to get more honor. No it's not nice if you get more honor but you don't enjoy it. I don't enjoy sota, i don't care if i get 5 times the honor if we win, i'd rather play 5 AV's because i enjoy them.

I enjoyed the old system for 2 reasons:
1. Play whatever BG i want. See how many Battlegrounds are active atm so you can estimate the queue time. and be able to join a BG friends are in(like point 2).
2. Group up with friends(more then 5 in general) and have a blast.

Both aren't possible anymore.

Advantages from this system that people do more different Battlegrounds now, but whatever BG you liked, you could play them all without a to insane queue. So the only REAL advantage is more honor.

Isn't it possible to combine best of both and merge both systems. It would come down to just having the old system + the 'join random BG option. in the battlegrounds tab.

If you queue for a random BG you get put in a random BG, for example AV. If someone queue'd for AV specificly he can get an invite aswell, instead of having OR people from the random BG, OR having people who queue'd for a specific BG.

Then everyone can do whatever he wants.
+ You're rid of the people who get Sota as random BG and don't even touch a tank in defense or offense, but just mindlessly grind till the BG is over because they don't like BG. Which is only increasing at the moment.

Constructive replies are more then welcome.

Especially the increasing amount of brainless retards ignoring all objectives and just killing alliance.

edit: yes, if this doesn't get changed my wow future seems doubtfull aswell.

I gotta do something while I wait for the queue time that is "unavailable" :P It won't let me queue for a random BG while I wait either.
But seriously, as i said earlier in the thread, as of this moment I still haven't been able to get into any battleground (without using random). So you say there's nothing stopping me, except the number of hours I have to wait I suppose.
