The main business to make gold with requires gold a bags and a banktoon. To really make 10k+ you indeed need to buy things cheap and sell them for more. Mostly trade goods, since they're on the biggest demand. the demand for crafted items is to low to make such huge numbers of gold. There are plenty of video's and guides on that. But in my opinion it's not something you just learn from a book, you really need to get the hang of it. Which i don't. I find it to risky still.

You can always buy raid flasks and stacks of infinite dust/raid gems etc.
    On weekends, particularly Sunday evenings.

And then list them in smaller quantities throughout the week.

When I feel like playing the AH.
I buy 20-25 stacks of infinite dust, at close to or under 1g per dust.
And then list them 20 at a time, for close to the lowest priced dust (average 1g50s to 2g each) in stacks of 1.
Putting 20-40 up at a time, and relisting every few hours.
By the next Sunday, almost always I'm out of dust.
That is 15-20g profit per stack, 300-500g profit in a week for basically doing nothing.

Go to appraiser tab, and refresh the view on my dust.
Price towards the cheaper end of the 1's listings (I don't care if someone is selling stacks of 20's for less per dust).
Appraiser won't list more then "x" (usually set to 20) of the item at once.
    Occasionally, if undercut, cancel auctions.
But mostly.. just update dust, and press Alt + Shift + Control and click the List button.

Yeah that's nonsense. Compared to farming the gold per hour on this is significantly higher, even if you start with a low amount. I started with 500g and in a few hours played have 2500g and about 2000g worth of stuff I will flip within the week. You can't even make that doing 5x dallies, and certainly not on a single toon.

Of course, the more you have to invest, the further it will go. I have about 20k in the guild bank, but I am holding off until I know my market better.

Man! It gets old on one set of toons. I can't barely manage 3 or 4 dallies now, a few times a week.

You can get AH income to be consistent as well, if you are consistent with scanning the AH, buying and relisting items. But yeah there is nothing like on-demand income from dallies. I'm just out of time and patience now.

Question on cancelling auctions, Why do it? You've paid the fee and it costs money to cancel right? So What if you get undercut. You might still sell yours. Only trick I found was to change your stack size and make sure your per item price is close to others. I would pay a little more if I need 4 of an item and the auction was for 4 then paying 4 auctions, just me maybe.
RAF Tour Guide files are obsolete, I went to Zygor
    MultiBoxers play with themselves

On a side note about auctioneer (the addon) - What file do I need to copy between installs/accounts to get the data it mined with me?
5 boxing on Chamber of Aspects, EU (Horde) and Soon on Classic.

well for glyphs and scrolls it's only a few copper. On items for which you are likely to be undercut, use a 12-24 hour listing.

If i remember correctly, the reason you dont want to use QA is that it relentlessy undercuts. So unless you really understand how it works you can hurt yourself.

Lets say there is 5 glyphs worth around 6g each, and 1 glyph worth 2g. We all know that the 2g one will sell first and that you rather not post it for <2g but for something like 5g (and some silver). I believe that auctionator does that more nicely then QA.

Watch out with the post tab in auctioneer, if you add a stack it will always make the price around which the lower items are for that particular item, always also hit refresh and double check your price visually.

Oh yeah I make loads of gold on the ah by selling tank gear (cobalt and tempored sets). Usually sell 1 set each day. Also shields sell for quite some gold.

And for every tip you get here, watch your milage, it may vary enormously per server. Some servers for instance have glyphs running over 40g, on my server they hardly hit 20. If you are just starting out, dont try to corner a market, just do the little things, find the markets which are poorly covered and get into those.

I made a nice little profit over the weekend on Netherweave Bags, which only has 1-2 people on my server really satisfying the markey. I used to be the big supplier here, but I have ignored the AH for a few months. Costs are between 2.5-7g, bags sell for 10-12g normally. It's not sexy, but it's consistent.

I sold 80-90 bags over the course of the weekend and got hate mails from both the other sellers because I undercut them severely and then bought up all of the Netherweave Cloth that was available that would allow them to continue to make a profit.

Looking forward to when they leave the market and I can have it all to myself. I'm perfectly happy to ruin it for them for 2-3 weeks in order for them to move on and try something else.

Even brutally undercutting them (I listed 50 bags at 8g ea., 2-3 gold less than any of their auctions), I still made a few hundred gold while chasing them out.

I make 100-300 a day selling flasks to raiders on my alchemist, too. Again, nothing sexy, but just fulfilling market need.
    Cranky old-timer.
