Lvl 38 with exactly 6 days played. 1 Warrior, 3 Mages, 1 Priest - did not AoE grind anything. Am in SM since lvl 31. All traidskills around 175-200ish.

8days 23hours 1-60, took longer than expected, pretty much only dungeon grind and abit of questing for pre-qs 58-60.
Prot warr, holy priest, ele shaman, arcane/frost mage, ruin/sacrifice lock
I like the setup now for the dungeons at 60 but the levelling itself was abit gimped because of the shaman having no real aoe, it did 1/4 of what the warlock and mage pulled, also ran warrior as arms 1-50ish which was a big mistake since I couldn't gather more than 1-2 grps at a time for the aoe.
Done a few UBRS runs with randoms on the server and only had 2 wipes, one of which was my fault not dismissing totems before rend
All in all I like the setup, but for MC I will be going fury warrior instead of also tanking.
I'm level 42. I have been questing, mixing in dungeons. Alliance on a PvP server that is has one of the higher horde dominated ratios, so STV has been filled with craziness. Enjoying it really. I am specifically not initiating PvP but if someone messes with me I just add them to my list and take note for next time. If a group get the jump on me its basically over, but if I do initiate I have a decent shot. 90% of horde leave me completely alone. 1% get quite obsessive about chasing me.
Biggest annoyance so far - last night running Armory, was about the 6-7th time - Scarlet legs drop and I pop back up top to AoE the small guys coming in - then I just walk out and reset without looting them! Ran Arms/Cath a bunch more times and they never dropped but I have everything else so will probably just move on.
I'm multi-boxing as a challenge, but I also want to be able to help my friends @ 60 so I have played 5 different classes that can sub into their groups at any time. It has meant I'm not really set up for AoEing dungeons, so I am a bit slow. Its not far off an AoE comp though by chance - Warrior / Mage / Lock / Priest / Paladin. Tanking with warrior as arms, healing with pally as holy. Mage/Lock/Priest mostly single target spam. Priest goes oom a lot and I don't think holy nova would cut it for AoE contribution.
Gold was an issue, I could afford 4/5 mounts @ 40 - but couldn't get 5th until 41.
Level 30 on my Pally, Priest, 3x Mage team. I gathered all the quests for Stockades before I went in at 24, and spent the last few days running around finishing up all the quest lines. That really slowed me down, but my OCD can't let me continue with any kind of grinding until my quest logs are clean. Next time I log on I have to finish the quests in Duskwood, finish the Test of Rightousness Paladin quest, and then I can finally farm Stockades to milk the last few levels out of it.
Are there any indications yet at higher level regarding the optimal 4 casters/1 healer setups. Are there any major differences in clearing ability with a lock team compared to mages?
I haven't been able to play as much as I've wanted, but so far I've leveled 3 teams a little bit.
5x shaman: meh. Level 12 or so and just beginning to be able to take things up to the first boss of RFC, but I'm just not feeling it.
5x paladin: a little better, leveled to 16 but they're still squishy enough that I need to heal a bunch and they run oom all the dang time.
5x hunter: saweeeeeet! Before pets they were just wrecking stuff before it could get to me, and with pets just forget about it. Level 11 now and the Defias Pillagers in Westfall have been dying usually before they can get off a pyroblast.
It's hard to say, noone has 2 teams with both setups at 60 to compare it for them self, lock vs mage in my mixed team I can say they do close to equal damage on single target, on AoE my lock is abit ahead but needs way more healing since there is no threat reduction.
Interrupting mobs are also a thing, so mages arcane explosion is better in that case.
Im running arcane/frost so the mage never runs out of mana single target before the fight is over, the warlock needs to life tap in the rotation but it seems to equal out dmg wise.
Thank you for your insights. I'd guess a warlock setup is a fair bit more tanky considering the voids, especially in boss encounters. I still can't decide and fully commit to a 4 mage versus 4 warlock setup. Both are tempting, so I keep jumping back and forth. Rather annoying.
I hit a wall lvl 32 Alliance team. Everywhere I go in contested I get camped by skulls. Right now I am living in SM trying to instance grind but it's boring as hell.
