Farming spots for cloth/leather/motes?

The turtles at Pools of Purity in Valley of the Four Winds. Insta respawn and the mobs are close to each other. I run 10 toons and just positioned each of them so someone else was covering his back and made a special button in ISBoxer to target the turtles instead of assisting the lead.

Across 10 toons I made oh, about 300 motes in an hour.

Well I must have shit luck...every time someone posts a good spot and says they got "X-hundred motes" i think.. " well if i get half that many, Ill be happy" Then i go and spend an hour and get next to nothing. I got ZERO motes at the turtles in an hour. And a handful at the stoneplow fields. I got some greens, cloth..but i could care less about those.. i want the motes lol!

Well, there *is* a difference between running 5 and running 10. Plus, my guys are all melee so they kill stupidly fast with no downtime.

Edit: I may make a video and post it. No promises--I leave for vacation tomorrow and I'll be gone a week.

I dont think its possible to kill any faster than i was killing them.. I had my guys spread out and i killed them so fast there were moments of no turtles to hit. You are talking about the little turtles up top right? And i mean.. zero motes in an hour compared to your 300? no way! Even if i were killing them some what slower than you ( i doubt it ) I should have gotten something close to that.. not "zero"! So I must be in the wrong spot, or it got hotfixed this morning.

No, they're down to the east a bit. There's a quest to gather like 30 strips of turtle meat for the area.

Windwool Cloth is like 50s each on my server, and there's like 6k auctions of it. We got lots of farmers around, or did Blizz f*** up the droprate?

Btw, have you noticed that if you're on a quest and kill quest mobs, they spawn much faster than without the quest? Or if there are people around with the quest and the mobs are under heavy farming, so they have to spawn instantly to make questers happy? Later if you are there alone without the quest, the mobs won't spawn instantly because "they don't have to"

If ANYONE is on the quest in the area they respawn faster.

Also @ mosg's spot. 40 motes in 20 mins (small sample size) and got me my 8% rested exp from the exp.

I was just there for an hour, solo on my dk, probably killed a few hundred turtles, and got 5 motes. was plenty of turtles due to questers, was no downtime and I typically was pulling 5-6 at a time.
get the quest, and don't turn it in and farm with a team and its probably alot more turtles.
