Thread: New and Lost

OK, I have ISBoxer (not running jamba until it's fixed by the D) and it's really pretty, but I'm near tears.

    I'm so overwhelmed.

My mages are adorable - three of them. I ran the wizard, and the program opens them up. (WoW)

From there - I'm lost. If I'm broadcasting, whatever I do on one screen, the other screens do - only, I'll tab target and two of my mages will target the wrong mob. Follows break when I'm broadcasting, they stay while I'm not broadcasting but only one mage does anything . . .

    The toolkit speaks greek.

It's possible I'm just not cut out for this, but where is a step by step guide to make this work? The video makes it look so easy, but I can see him shift clicking and alt clicking and none of it is explained.

I may not know a lot about computers, but I'm not a stupid person. This should be something I can catch onto.

Would someone be willing to get on vent or skype or a chatroom with me and help walk me through the basics? From there I can learn as I go, but right now I just can't seem to figure out what the basics even ARE (there's just too much).

    phew. Ok. Deep breaths.

    Thanks.

I'd recommend the guide in my signature.

Basically you have Mapped Keys (Keymaps are groups of Mapped Keys) and Repeater Mode.
Between the two, you manage how you want to broadcast.

If both are on, then Keymaps take precedent over Repeater.

You'll probably want Keymaps on and Repeater off, for most of your play.
If you don't have a mapped key for Tab, then with Keymaps on and Repeater off, only the master will Tab.
And when you press "1", then the other toons will assist the master and cast their stuff.

Repeater is used (with Keymaps Off), for having everyone do something like: /Dance or Entering your password.

I leave Keymaps on, and enable Repeater, when I want to have everyone click on a portal or select talent points or configure my UI.

I turn both off, when I want to chat with only a single toon, and not have the other toons cast stuff or repeat what I'm saying.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

I'd say that regardless of what software you use to broadcast your keyclicks / macros / gameclient stuff, you really do need jamba. There is no addon I have come across that made my boxing easier than Jamba. I think that you will agree as well.

ok, a small tip, i felt like you in the begining, try taking it slow, make one thing at a time, like Keymaps is a good start. make sure you have a "basic" understanding of it (ualaa's guide is good very neat), then move on to next area you need to setup, this will take siome time before you can actaully start playing but makes it oh so much better to play

to make a "basic" lvling setup you dont need to do much more then to learn Keymap, how repeater works, maby your own window layout and how to setup a team, go slow and DONT copypaste when you do keymaps and such, write them yourself, helped me alot in learning!

Good luck, if you need any help or chat send me a PM.

There is an option in ISboxer at the bottom that sends you to the ISboxer chat. People there van offer a lot of help.

    Are you us/eu which server?

Might also be worth mentioning that when I switched from Keyclone to IS Boxer, I had problems until I just renamed my WTF directory and reset all my key bindings in WoW to the defaults (for each toon).

This thread just tore at me. Steph, I too have seen the apeal of multiboxing, and I too have decided to invest the time and costs to learn it. I too am starting right out of the cellophane. I do consider myself computer savy, and I am good with WoW. I havnt even started.

How about I do this with you? Kinda a nooblet team...lol. I am in Eredar, a PVP server, however I want to change to a PVE server when I start. I figure if I can box 3, I can do any number...well within reason.

I have the Wow addon, and I have ISboxer.

From what Ive read, some of the original informaion is a little off now with the new patch. Stuff needs updated, and then debugged after updated. (I think some updates are already done.) the keybindings and emulators are gonna be my only tricky spot.

I love youtube. Its so easy to SEE someone do it, and then pause it, and go do it myself.

    So...
Me = using software to copy functions from mouse and keyboard... using ISboxer... starting on a new server.. dunno which yet. (if you like to PM me, and tell me which server you are on, id be happy to do it with you)

Good luck to both of us.!

Well - things are definitely broken

Apparently, it's just me. My roommate downloaded the software and set up his three accounts using the wizard. Popped in game with no problems: toons autofollowed, they assisted, everything was magical.

SAME SETTINGS, SAME STEPS, MINE DOESN'T WORK

We uninstalled and reinstalled ISBoxer, thinking maybe I just broke it beyond repair.

We are both running Windows 7. We are both running the same version of ISBoxer and Inner Space. Everything about our computers is nearly identical when it comes to software. (his hardware is slightly more advanced and expensive). We even made mage teams on both computers beginning at level 1 so everything would be identical.

When I load my team, I cannot get my characters to autofollow on character switch, or assist me in killing a target. I can't get them to do anything, tbh.

I've spent probably 10-15 hours trying to get mine to work, using all available guides - he loads the program and runs the wizard and it's flawless, exactly how I imagined.

I'm not sure what to do at this point.

To answer some earlier questions, I'm on US-Doomhammer, and I'd be more than happy to share my in game information with anyone who would be willing to assist me. I'm also open to desktop sharing with someone who has that capability that could troubleshoot my ISBoxer. I'd even put you up in my house and feed you 3 square meals a day, if that's what it takes. Anything at this point, as both my roommate and myself are completely baffled.

Sounds like your ISBoxer addon isn't turned on if they won't do anything. You should really join the ISBoxer IRC chat and speak to Lax directly about your issue. He's not always around 24-7 because he has a family and is constantly fixing or adding things into ISBoxer and JMB.
