Addons with following functionality works in MOP
I just started dual-boxing and have my main toon (lvl90 DK) and slave (lvl80 mage) leveling up in some CTM dungeons. I am looking for an WoW addon that supports "toggle following" and maybe follow in a range distance (to avoid any AE damage from mobs). I've tried Jamba and FollowFelankor, they both fails on toggling following feature. It could be Blizzard change the API/macro of stop following. Does there any addon have this feature?
Lots of things are out-dated, like Jamba documentation link is broken (http://wow.jafula.com/addons/jamba/). Can the community help me? Thanks.

Follow only comes in one flavor, there is no variable distance. Also, the only way to terminate follow is by moving to physically break it {slave moving a step, interacting with target, melee attacks or some channeled spells, or the main moving out of follow distance}, there is no "stay here"-style command in the game. All that's available is the command to follow. Toggling off the follow in addons like Jamba is nothing more than the addon not reissuing the follow command.
The Jamba site has been down for about a week, but his Curseforge is still working

I have a sticky thread here for some documentation from a user perspective

And Jafula always puts up a new sticky thread here for the current version on Jamba

@Khatovar, thanks for the clarification. Now I get the idea of how multiboxing addon implements following mechanism. However, back to my original issue, how do I make slave toon to not get into melee range in order to avoid the AE damage?

You need to send a movement key to the slave. Many people use modified movement keys {CTRL/ATL/Shift + W, A, S, D, Q, E} or the arrow keys as slave movement keys. I personally send Q and E to all my characters and I just tap one of them to strafe while I'm running my main up to pull. The slaves strafe as well and that breaks follow.
Unless you're using Jamba's Follow Strobing, in which case you need to issue a command to stop follow strobing {/jamba-follow strobeoff all}, then send a movement key to break follow.
