PiP doesn't matter. The point of mouse passing is that it does go to the other windows as defined in the key. If you're leading with the hunter, then there's no reason to pass mouseclicks. If you're leading from the monk, then the mouse position is always going to be relative between the characters. Clicking at the monk's feet isn't going to cast the trap at the monk's feet because the relative position {assuming the view and facing are the same on both characters} for the hunter is placing it at the hunter's feet.

I can't speak to dual mages, but you can look up "Team Beeq" here. He was running 5 mages and farming raid-trash for current-tier raids in Cata. It's more about being able to burst things down before they can do much damage. Of course this isn't Cata anymore and 5>2 so it's not perfect information, but depending on what you do, gear will take negate a lot at this point. I mean, there's not much that people can't solo these days, so dual-boxing should still allow quite a bit of old content farming.
