I just built a new rig also and had hoped it would pull my 4 accounts but found that the load on my graphics card was just to much. I was getting 20-25 fps if I was very lucky but it would drop down to about 10 or less many times. The nvidia 580 card was running very hot and GPU usage was sitting at 100%. I have 16gb of memory, a 160gb ssd, 1tb hd drive, I7 2600, Asus p8p67 mb, a FIOS connect to the internet with very low latency, etc. You would think the system would be able to pull 4 accounts but it seemed just too much for my system. So I just cranked the graphics settings to all low, turned off shadows, AA and bloom, and it runs fine now. To tell the truth the lower video quality doesn't bother me that much. In a single character setting I can turn everything up (I always turn off AA) and get really great fps, normally in the 80+fps second range).
IMO BioWare has some issues with their graphics implementation and their forums would tend to support that more than just a few people are unhappy with in-game fps. Of course most of those are just folks playing a single character and a lot of them are probably older systems, but many like yourself are new computers that are struggling with performance.
My consideration was whether it was worth it to buy a second video card and run an SLI config. I have a 2 monitor setup with 24 and 22 in monitors. It doesn't appear that drivers know how to support SWTOR with an SLI config (as I understand it it is the nvidia drivers that make this magic work, not the game), but still wondered if setting up a non-SLI config with a separate card for each monitor would help. Sort of hate to drop another $450 to add a second card only to find it didn't do anything. Particularly just to multi-box this game. Anyone else have experience in going from a single to a two card config and what were your results.
Sorry, Atwaa, not trying to hi-jack your thread but it did seem somewhat related question.
