I wonder if lag on the follower is making him a touch slower? I notice in long conversations, the non-active screen lags behind slightly by the end.

Thing is, for me at least, that's the way every game I've ever 2-boxed has been, so I'm used to just running to the other side of the mob I want to attack and then turning to attack it.
Long convos - Thats your computer processing the flash. If you can increase your systems stats, you will see this go away.

WoW has the IWT that is very helpful with melee groups. Until SWTOR introduces an IWT option, this will likely always be the remedy. Plus keep in mind, that the use of follow with assist and dps keys will help (but not eliminate), this issue. You will never be as efficient or effective to drive with your healer as long as you have a melee member in your team, unless IWT is added.

Plus, I think some classes have larger melee ranges than others. I tested this. Sith Inquisitors have a bigger melee range than Sith Warriors. go figure. If you operate say, (2) Sith Assassins, there is no need for the "run past mob" method. I dunno if this is meant to be that way or if its an oversight of the Assassin vs the warrior... thought it was interesting tho.
