2,3,5 boxing wow with Wow Open Box and MAMA, give them a try!
(was 8 Boxing Wow with HotKeyNet and ISBoxer)
Was streaming on twitch.tv/MooreaTv
I thinks its doable, once geared, but that can turn into a catch 22. You will need to mod your strats, and time your self rez’s. With that being said, does the self rez work in combat in classic. If so, is there a debuff timer etc.
Simple is smooth and smooth is fast. Well thats what Im hoping for with a few cannon fodder tanks to taunt swap on rotation and chain healing for large fights.
That being said, I may run a 2nd group of 1 war 4x shammans for fun, or a ‘lockout’ team which I can switch to when waiting for instance resets.
For lockouts my thought was to summon my team to another instance using my 5 level 20+ Warlocks. I figured taking them to 20 (or 35 for cool-down crafting) and summoning my main team to a different instance would be more efficient than leveling a second team to 60 and fully gearing them. I personally would also be a little worried about having multiple types of rotations, cool-downs, tricks, etc. in my muscle memory in PVP and using the wrong ones for the wrong class(es) in the heat of the moment.
I agree that for PVP having 3-5 Shaman being able to pop Elemental Mastery before a Chain Lighting or what not could be hell of a lot of one shot fun.
Also curious whether self rez works in combat and what timers there are (if any).

So i just tried out an 4 warrior + resto shaman setup in retail and leveled them up to 15.
Pulling mobs when you have charge on cooldown is just painful.
Tried to pull with Flamechock but when all the warriors used IWT to take aggro it just felt akward.. Sometimes they missed the target.. Sometimes they ran all over the place etc..
Once in RFC things became even more interesting.. I know i don't have things like Whirlwind or cleave but.. Charging in and trying to have taunt on round robin just wount work for me at the moment.. When my shaman took aggro from a mob i tried to get it back with my warriors and they ran all over the place again..
I guess this setup would work for an seasoned multiboxer but i wount try it as my first group.
Next setup i will test is to drive from a warrior and have 4 shamans specced elemental/resto..
Stick with it. You just have to get used to handling IWT's odd behavior sometimes. It's second nature to me to hit my follow hotkey every time a target dies so my characters don't run off into the horizon. When/if they fix battle shout threat it will help a lot with making sure the initial agro stays on your warriors and once things are in melee range 4 warriors shouldn't have any problem out TPSing heals.
Your weapon is also a game changer on a warrior team. A lot of your skills are based on weapon damage and will increase your DPS a ton even if you're otherwise completely naked. It's worth going out of your way a little to pick up a nice upgrade. There's a decent weapon progression guide here: https://www.wowisclassic.com/en/clas.../#horde-weapon that might be helpful while leveling.
Things are slow at first for every class but once you get more tools like mocking blow, intercept and cleave things really start to ramp up.

since follow is off the table I would just spec resto shamans after having all the preraid bis gear which you can farm with elemental (almost everything depending on balance eventually). 5 resto shamans are perfectly viable in 40 mans and zg with 2-3, if you put 11-20 points in the enhance tree you can also enjoy windfury gameplay or stick to fast 1h flametongue. And even without elemental spec 5 ns chainlightings with 5 firenova totems will still have double oneshot potential
what i found most annoying about cleave and hs, from p.s. experience, that it cancels if you press twice and i think that was also like that on live. So if your melee swings are desynched idk if it goes through all the time if you spam it or just ignore missing a few. its definetly worth using though since stuff like bloodthirst doesnt do damage without proper ap gear. In general i found it very hard to optimize this comp in early levels, for example battlestance vs berserker stance in single target, access to overpower vs 3% crit. I didnt really see a notable difference but i know there has to be one, it just seems insignificant. The worst part is when you throw windfury or improved wf into the equation it gets really weird in the single target case, as hamstring spam seems to outdps every other ability up to lvl 60 in bad gear, since we can't go 2h slam build because the swing timer reset stuff will be too difficult to manage, i makes sense that hamstring spam is then probably better for boxing... while searching for 2h builds with windfury i came across a 3/5 sword 3/5 flurry spec with hamstring spam which seems really fun to try with hand of justice. After all the only way to find out is having each warrior in one of the possible specs, similar gear, and observe their dps for a long time
Isn't there something you can macro to work around that? Like, for example, my hunter can use
and spam a macro with that in it and it will never cancel out like just clicking the Auto Shot button does. I haven't tried pure melee yet in beta to see if that works with normal melee attacks. Like this maybe? (works for my hunter melee spam anyway)Code:/cast !Auto Shot
Code:#showtooltip /startattack /cast Mongoose Bite /cast Raptor Strike
Now playing: WoW (Garona)
if that works it would be great, will have to try it
/startattack does work in classic with the updated client. That will solve that issue entirely. Overpower consistency will always be less optimal with multiple warriors as their attacks getting dodged is individual (to proc it); however, if they’re arms spec sitting in battle stance you could likely spam it between cds to catch procs with no downside. With windfury, hamstring spam is definitely a thing and was in vanilla as well.
Other than utilizing charge and sweeping strikes I intend to have my wars in berserker stance and use WW on CD. Switching back to battle stance for random overpower procs between wars instead of always having access to ww when coming off CD sounds like too much of a dps loss (and potentially significant rage waste across multiple wars) imo. I’d like to hear other’s opinions though!
I haven't played retail in a long time but those macros worked last time I was subscribed.Code:#showtooltip /cast Whirlwind /cast !Cleave #showtooltip /cast Bloodthirst /cast !Heroic Strike
You're right that bloodthirst is heavily dependent on total AP from gear. If it's not doing worthwhile damage 40+ we could switch to arms for mortal strike, which is based on weapon damage like whirlwind. I'm reasonably sure the increased white damage from flurry and enrage would result in greater total DPS though. How often do you even have enough rage to cleave while keeping whirlwind on cooldown at 40-50?
At 60 with 8% hit or so once we start dual wielding it won't be an issue. You build rage super fast duel wielding decent weapons.
