    Default Questions concerning shamans etc

    Hello!

So i've been playing around with ISBoxer and i have come to both love and hate MiRai! The videos he made are just wonderful!(But since i know nothing about coding, programming and macros it's been a rollercoaster).

My plan is to multibox a team of shamans.. I think...

I've tried multiboxing in the retail version in low levels, but since they changed the game so much it's not even an effort to clear dungeons when 5 healing totems. They outheal every single boss i've encountered so far.

I've also tried 5 shamans on an alternative server in scholomance just to get the feel of it. Completely different ballgame.. Not impossible tho..

Would a 5 man shaman group be able to clear all the 5 man instances in classic?

The build im thinking about is to have my driver specced into full resto and have the other 4 to go elemental/enhance with various builds to benefit from all the talents that includes buffing totems.. Specc as much defence with parry, item armor, block etc.. And maby switch them out when i get a hang of things..

Drop totems, pull with chained lightning, cast a lightning bolts, chock and then get into melee and hope for some windfury proccs to finish the mobs off..
If i change into melee i would save alot of mana instead of just spamming more lightning bolts.

If extra healing is needed i would just add some macros with roundrobin and stopcasting on my other shamans.

Which leads to my next question.. I tried out an addon named Quickheal on an alternative 1.12 server and it worked like a charm... My lord that one is powerful.. Targets the member with lowest life and casts the best suited spell in terms of mana contra health.. Does anyone know if that one will be available in classic?

I also got some ideas to switch in some warriors in the group.. Drive from 1 warrior + 4 shamans .. 4 warriors + 1 resto shaman.. Can't decide..

What do you think about an all shaman group? Viable for pve, stupid, awesome? What is your experience in the matter?

I know it's not as optimal as tank, healer, 3 dps group with warlock, priest, mage.. But that compilation just doesn't interest me at the moment.

Hope to get some input from you guys!

    Thank you in advance!

I did a 5 Shaman group for BC and WoTLK and it was a lot of fun (especially for PVP with Chain Lightning and Chain Healing). I did take them in some instances with some success but I think we had things like Earth Shield that Classic does not... Even with Earth Shield I remember things being tougher as I got to the more challenging content and I swapped in a Tank...

I would consider at least adding a Druid to your group as that opens up a real tank option for you and should make things much smoother. In PVP you can have the druid be your stealth scout and either run interference as a Bear or join your group as a caster adding a buff and DoTs & HoTs. You could also use your Druid as a single client to join some stealth groups of other players for an alternative experience. In BattleGrounds you will only be able to really use 1 character anyway and the Druid would give you a top notch WSG Flag Runner option and some alternative play instead of being forced to only play Shaman. In AV and AB your Druid could join a stealth group that focuses on capturing Nodes &/or Grave Yards... Just so flexible and opens up lots of options for you.

Alternatively you could do the 5 Shaman group now and level the Druid later as druids are one of the fastest classes to level (or do a team of druids or a mix of other classes in the 2nd group).

To be fair, most low-level dungeons aren't difficult, regardless of Retail or Classic. After Asmongold—like him or not—and his party cleared The Deadmines on his stream, there was a major uproar that Classic was "too easy" and that the numbers "had to be wrong," only for Blizzard to come forth with their own test on their internal 1.12.1 server, which showed that the numbers are exactly where they should be, and that whatever people remember from 15 years ago, or from private servers, is flawed.

This next statement is slightly off topic, but if you're looking for a challenge on Retail, you're going to have to level until you reach the TBC/Wrath expansions. After the implementation of level scaling, back in Legion, the TBC/Wrath dungeons are where things can begin to pick up, and even more so as you move into Cata/Mists/Warlords, where actual mechanics are present, while leveling.

I don't want to minimize anyone's excitement to jump into Classic when it finally launches, because I plan to be there myself, but Retail dungeons, without a doubt, are much more demanding when it comes to managing the Tank, Healer, and DPS roles.

No, such things are purposely disabled and unavailable on Classic.

I went dow the same thoughts as you and ended up with a 3x war, 2 shammy team from thread feedback.

    Why.

In the future I want to run with the one team. When the next retail expansion ins released and no one like it, they may release B.C as a fix.

I want to shift between charging i , aoe slashing pulls for clearing and be able to recover fast with shammy self rez.
I want to be able to shift to classic team for later content.

I want the least mix of classes and pet management.

I went warriors for dps and advice from others.

I have played druid from the start. Love hate relationship as your tanks become squish when be shifts out for.....
Boxing management of forms is fun, and you can use he pro heal system to make them shift at will.
Druid tank with shammy heals did have a good synergy.

All shammy group would be fun. Loving the shammy on test, however it is frustrating when you hit the upper content and your team struggles or worse, just isnt viable for th harder content your lust aspires too. Having at least one tank will make your life a lot easier.

Drive from your tank, and use the pro heal on youtube to setup your shammies with a lower level haling wave. They will all cadt on your tank a once and give you a huge heal at low cost.

Other prefer to drive from healer and use iwt macro set to just the tank, so the range toons can heal and dos from afar. This is easier for avoiding ground fire and other dangers as you can pull your tank back.

Wont my defence specced shamans be able to tank BRD, Scholomance, stratholme in an all shaman group? Watched some crazy clips of "Shaman tanks" back in the days but can't remember i've ever played with one back in vanilla.

Why do you recommend a druid instead of a warrior to my group? Wouldn't a warrior be more beneficial then a druid?
Like plate armor, windfury totem and better defensive stats? Or am i missing something?

I will more then likely level up several teams once i'm on farm status on some instances with my main setup.

I don't like what they did to the game after naxxrammas so i wount try the retail im afraid.
I know that all instances will be quite easy untill your level 50 or so..
My plan is to multibox instances for gear and gold.. Level all the professions and then start raiding with one of my shamans as resto. (Elemental or enhancemnet if able but its not likely that will happen).
Keep farming and eventually start to level up other teams..

But if 4 defence specced shamans can't tank the lvl 60 instances i need to rethink things..

Maby i should just add a warrior and have him as a driver.. Or leave the 5 shaman thing completely and have 4 warriors and drive from a resto shaman.
But if i go with 4 warriors wouldnt it then be possible to have 4 enhancement/elemental shamans with all the defensive talents instead? GAH! Im panicing and we only got 2 more months untill release..

An ISBoxer question.. If im having trouble to setup things like pro healing with clickbars or a fx setup for fishing. Is it possible if i just use someone else's setup and import it to my profile? I'm really struggling with understanding the program..

Maybe a shaman can tank those but likely will need to be higher level and/or with better gear compared to a real tank like a druid or warrior. Plus I don't like recommending maybes... We know a warrior/druid can...

Warrior likely better than druid if you just want that slot used for pve tank... My assumption was that you wanted an all caster group option and the druid could tank in pve and then cast in pvp and in the process double buff the 4 shamen casters with motw and 3% crit.

Pros/cons either way... just depends on your goals.

So you dont think it will be doable with a 5 shaman group in level 60 dungeons?

Im starting to rethink as well.. 1,2,3,4 warriors or 1,2,3,4,5 shamans.. I will never be able to decide

Correct me if I am wrong but the Feral Tank Leader of the Pack does not apply to spell crit. Unless you mean balance druid for pvp.

Yes I meant MoonKin form to boost your 4 Shamen (and the MoonKin) for max damage in PVP.

Since we can't dual-spec and changing specs frequently can get expensive you should be able to run something like the following spec to be both an effective PVP caster (boosting all the casters in your group including the Druid) and still be a decent PVE bear tank (with a swap of gear):

    https://classicdb.ch/?talent#0t0xbMvotxxxc0M

Normally I would place a high value on getting 21 in Restoration on a Druid but I figured you would be running all 4 Shaman in Ele/Resto specs with maybe one more heavy in Resto to be the main healer (making the rest of the party off healers). Maybe something like this for at least 3 of the Shaman:
