I have completed this on my 5 druid multibox.
TLDR: If you did hivemind on that chracter you can only hivemind with others from the group. If you didn't do hivemind on that character anyone who didnt' do hivemind on that character can join. Hivemind speed bonus does not stack with other effects such as Paladin Crusader or Pathfinder.
Numbers below are based on Deja numbers for movement speed.
In Zandalar with pathfinder part 1. Hivemind mount (0 inside) - 220%
Hivemind mount (1 inside) - 220%
Hivemind mount (2 inside) - 220%
Hivemind mount (3 inside) - 230%
Hivemind mount (4 inside) - 240%
In Dalaran (Legion,280% flying) with pathfinder part 2
Hivemind mount (0 inside) - 390%
Hivemind mount (1 inside) - 390%
Hivemind mount (2 inside) - 400%
Hivemind mount (3 inside) - 410%
Hivemind mount (4 inside) - 420%
In Pandara (280% flying) Hivemind mount (0 inside) - 390%
Hivemind mount (1 inside) - 400%
Hivemind mount (2 inside) - 410%
Hivemind mount (3 inside) - 420%
Hivemind mount (4 inside) - 420%
I then logged onto my paladin (who was not part of the hivemind group) and my druids could not enter his hivemind mount. Next I logged into an entirely different group (but on the same accounts) and they were able to join the hivemind together (they are level 43). At this point I swapped back to my paladin for speed tests.
