Cannot figure out how to get follow and assist to work in inner space / ISboxer...

24. Click on “Target Me”. There is NO hotkey for this so leave it blank. Seriously, Don’t do it. Under Steps, and under Actions, make a new mapped key. The “Target” for this key is the OTHER toon. Use the pull down menu and select “Character Slot 2: (tB)”. For the “Key Combination” (again using the keys Riker already attempted to have you use), click on the “<” and press the “`” key.

I am guessing you meant for me to make a new keystroke action instead of a new mapped key? If not I am confused at this point.

Correct! I did this write up from work, and from memory. I got the pictures from the guide I wrote a few months back. Sorry about the wording.

Yes, for the Target Me and Assist Me, you want to use "New Keystroke Action" because you want the software to pass along a keystroke.

For the Follow Me, you want to use "New Do Mapped Key Action", because you want to "DO" or use, and existing mapped key.

I know they wording for some of ISBoxer is awfully confusing, but after a while you get used to it.

NP, so lets get you finished. Im going to download your .XML file and check it out. Give me a little bit to digest... oh, and the F2 and F6 thing... unbind F2, and put the F6 in the top. Else it doesnt work right.

Alright, my review is done. I didnt test it because... well, I need to give the baby a bath.

Error one:

If you go look at your Character Map... what do you see? WAY too much crap in there.
Delete the following:
Always On
Non-Combat
Combat
Toggles

Delete them from your character set. If you want to keep them in the file to use for WoW later, thats fine. But they got no business in our SWTOR setup. Nix them.



Error two: I wrote "Window: All w/Current"... WITH... not WITHOUT. You have it setup to always exclude the window you are in. That helps you for exactly ZIP. Change those all to the correct setting. Activate Toon A, Activate Toon B, All Keys OFF...



Error three: The Target Me, Follow Me, Assist Me, and DPS1 do not belong in the control group. Remember, you have the control group to be ON for all settings... so your toons cant be ON for both, else they'll go all Sybil on you..lol Good note, you did get it right! Just need to put them in the 2 Man Sentinel Toon A and 2 Man Sentinel Toon B.


Note: Looks like you arent finished. You need to finish the DPS1. And you also need to remember... 2 Man Sentinel Toon A needs the FTL modifiers (Follow Me, Assist Me, Target Me) as well as 2 Man Sentinel Toon B does too. But when you copy and paste them into Toon B, dont forget to change them from Character slot 2 to Character slot 1... Because when you Activate Toon B, you ARE character slot 2... you dont want to send commands to yourself... you can directly control that one, when you are on that window. You want to send commands to the other one... Remember, when you "Activate" a keymap, by pressing the Home and Page Up... you need keys in there.

Make those adjustments, and I think you should be good. IF you want to upload the corrected file, Ill be happy to make a couple toons with your names, on some random server, and test it. Should be easy enough. But thatll be later, after baby goes to bed.

The main problem was / is that even tho you press the Home key, for example... the window swap, cause you got that right, and it activates the toon A... you got that right... but there isnt anything in "2 Man Sentinel Toon A" or "B"... you put the follow, target, and assist in the wrong sub category. so mashing buttons doesnt do jack.

Does the DPS1 key go in Toon A and Toon B or in Control?

I put them one each under Toon A and Toon B and did them the same as follow me.

Correct. DPS keys are used for your toons specific. So 2 Man Sentinel Toon A and Toon B should each have their own DPS keys. They each have their own Follow, Target, and Assist.

Remember, your Controls are what is loading your key sets.

The Main Control is the one that says what goes where.
When you press Home for Activate toon A... it activates everything in 2 man sentinel toon a. which is all the follow commands that tell toon b who to follow... assist that tells toon b what to assist, and target which tells toon b who to target... plus your dps keys, so you can tell your toon b what to do

when you press PAge Up fo Activate toon B... it does the opposite... and loads all the stuff under 2 man sentinel toon B... also deactivating the toon A stuff.

I thought I had it.

I changed my key binding and removed F2 completely and replaced it with F6 for targeting player number two in group.

Only my main window follows the commands. Re - exported to inner space to make sure it was correct afterward and still the same.

Also I had made a mouse repeater key binding, but never assigned anything to it. I'm just used to clicking on the buttons that are normally located at the top left corner of Inner Space to turn on "broadcasting" which is both mouse and keyboard repeating. Since I only use that when interacting with NPCs it's not a hassle. However when I loaded these up now, there is no button set up there. I googled how to turn it back on so I could see them and came up with nothing. I searched the ISBoxer wiki and didn't locate it either.

But there is something odd about the setup for the target me, assist me, and follow, and dps.

You have this one wrong... very close.. but you have a conflict with the way you did the key maps... so just switch it and use the keystrokes like i typed it above.

when youre done updating, do the drag and drop thing i wrote about for these items into your character set in the lower left panel... and, be sure to save... export, and press your home key a couple times to ensure it got loaded.

also please double check BOTH accounts for the in game keybinds.

the tilde should be your Acquire Target of Target
F6 should be your Target Party Member 1
F7 should be your follow.

****Edit, oh yeah, and your dps key... change the first line item for your target from Character slot to "Window Current". Basically, you want to "run" your command for assist, which is already sending to the other toon. If you try to send dps1 assist to the other toon, to run for the other toon, well, that wont work, because we deactivated those commands with the window hotkey swap... plus Toon B doesnt have assist for Toon B... its got it for Toon A. <--- that can get confusing quick.

Do you know how I can get my "broadcasting" button back at the top left? I completely removed Mouse Repeat that we made earlier since I never completed it.

Okay Tested with the changes you made.

Window Swap: Check (Home takes me to toon 1 screen and Page Up takes me to toon 2 screen).
You mentioned Activates? I don't know which those are so couldn't test them. Remember I removed the Mouse Repeat you had me start but had said we'd get back to that. Since we didn't I removed it.
I am able to turn off all with ALT+End.

Now once they are loaded up I hit Home several times. I targeted toon 2 and invited him to group. I hit Home again a couple times.
I made sure neither had a target.
I hit F6 which should make toon 2 target player 1 in the group. Only player one targets player 2 instead.
I hit Page Up and switch to toon 2 screen and same thing. I leave him targeting toon 1 and hit HOME and switch back. When I hit F7 or ` toon 2 does nothing from toon 1 screen and toon 1 gets different messages depending upon what he has targeted.

I checked my key bindings in game. They are ` is acquire target of target, F6 is target player 2, F7 is follow target. All are in the first spot in the key bindings.
