    Absolutely agree. Never buy open box pc components, too much of a risk (and why are they open box to begin with?).



    Also, anyone know if the i7's benefit from even number of sticks of ram? Remember how in the q6600's if you had 3 sticks it would not run as fast unless it had 4? Something about the channels....so you either had 2 sticks, or 4 sticks. I see he is purchasing 3....

    Socket 1156 still utilizes dual channel, Socket 1366 utilizes triple channel. Even though you can find motherboards that can sport both an 1156 or a 1366, they'll use dual channel because of the 1156 restrictions.

    Ah haha, what I meant was you can find 1156 i7's which use dual channel instead of the real i7's which use triple channel. Sorry it has been a very long day.
