True enough but I think we can conclude that a P55 system is not a horrible choice when compared to a X58 system.

That would vary upon the other system parts, Tom's Hardware has stated many times the the i5-750 has all the CPU power you need to run almost every game. That CPU runs on the 1156 socket MB. Unless you need 3-4 graphics cards or your software makes use of Hyper-Threading, The x55 MB's will do just fine.

Or maybe you'd rather use add-in cards that use pci-e. Remember, not only graphics cards use pcie!
