    Default slaves on follow

Ok, im going to apoligize from the start for the completly noob question......

I see videos of boxers and many of their slaves are following very close to the leader. I cant figure out wtf im doing wrong, if anything, but my slaves are following me but are (or seem to be) a good way away from me.
How do they get slaves to follow really close?

AFAIK there is nothing you can do. Lag. Do the slaves seem close to the leader on the slaves screen?

nope. when i get a chance to log in ill do some screen shots. Its really weird. Im playing on a 100mb connection with no apearent lag (just norm lag like when i jump and they jump after on my screen) also have a top of the line comp and video card.

i noticed that my hunter would lose my slaves after running around. didn't take me long to realize the reason was due to the fact he was BM and had the speed buff while hit pet was out. Make sure your leader doesn't have any speed enhancements that your slaves don't have. But you will also see a lag difference between what you see on your main and what you see on your slaves. If your main stops and your slaves are taking longer than they should to stop behind him/her, It might be network lag. But watch their window when your main stops. If they stop on their screens, but are still moving on your main's screen then it's visual lag on your main.I keep my slaves' windows just above my main like 3 rear view mirrors. I watch them at all times when running around to make sure they don't fall behind.

The points in bold are completely irrelevant to your symptoms. My slaves follow about 20 yards behind me. Far enough back that at the default camera zoom, I can't even see them in the screen most of the time when on epic flyers. That lag is entirely due to latency. If your ping is like mine (8-12ms) to the server, then you won't see much lag except when the zone is going "WTF WHY ARE YOU DOING WINTERGRASP WHILE I'M TRYING TO QUEST YOU NOOBS?!?" If your ping is around 40-80ms, you'll see them jump about half a second behind you and follow distance will appear to be about 30 yards or so. If your ping is 200ms+, best of luck.

not completely relevant, but after finishing a flight (i noticed this after the 'interact with target' feature was made available, and all my toons land at the exact same time) so after i land, and mount up, and press the follow key, all of my alts are literally right on top of my main, and whenever i make a course correction, they keep goign straight for a second, then are right back on top of me. Weird.

But yeah, the lag is your problem. I'm guessing that the "100mb" connection is a college LAN? If so, i bet the latency is through the roof, what with the entire student body downloading torrents, pronz, real homework/research, other games, etc.

And Im loving the new forums, the little report button on the left is nice to report spambots!

    What's your latency?
    What's your computer spec?

latency is never a problem. Im norm between 40 and 100. never over 100. im not in school either. im in my house. there is no one using any speed chants or anything like that. today was much better really. no one was left behind. whatever it was seemed to fix itself........

Heh, sometimes, when things in a weird sync mode, my alts will actually run in FRONT of me for a while. It's hilarious. Usually after I hearth or teleport somewhere.
