Thank you massive multiboxers that farmed gold

You are the reason, just so everyone knows. What do you think was gonna happen when you are farming 10 mill gold a month? Doesn't matter what you did with the gold, it is something a game company doesn't like. This is one of the reasons why most games outright ban multiboxing. If you were doing under 20ish accounts farming gold you are fine, but 60+... come on. To the 1 massive multi boxer gold farming streamer that got mad and ignored me in chat, now you understand. So thanks, you ruined the game for all the multi boxers. Blizzard did overreact, could've just limited the numbers but it is done...




Update: Blizzard CAN give you a refund but you have employees there that don't like multiboxers so they won't give you a refund, so be nice and hope you get a nonbias customer support. The support person I got was very nice and wasn't bias at all, but when he said he had to talk to his peers they told him not to give me a refund on this topic, at the end he did say he'll refund me (after talking to him about the hate that multiboxers get) but we'll see in 3-10 business days. But guys please don't refund isboxer/innerspace they are a good group of guys and it's only like $15.

The only one responsible for banning multiboxing is Blizzard. Noone else.

I don't agree, Blizzard was kind enough to leave us use a third party program run through their client for so many years. What killed multiboxing are the people trying to make a living of farming golds, be it with actual gold reselling or trying to reach maximum audience be it on youtube or Twitch so they actually shared the methodology widely, which outside of multiboxing being a niche, made a lot of people see it as the only way to make golds.

That's what killed us, golds farming and overfarming of the shared nodes with the community.

What actually kills the World of Warcraft multiboxing community is the fact that key broadcasting software was prohibited by Blizzard.

Blizzard could have solved the farming problem other ways. As like limiting looting nodes to one char. As lilke personal nodes based on the player. They implemented personal loot, so why not personal spawns, which are either different for every char, or limited to one char per player?

Do not blame other players. Blame the game company for removing a feature you liked to play.

To be totally honest, this won't sit well with some people here but any boxer that has primarily subbed their accounts with tokens bought by gold farming have contributed towards this.

BFA it became a total joke, farming gave us a bad name and got us to a pinnacle moment - multi boxing is not a legitimate way to play game as the overwhelming view of normal players is we are all gold farming bots.

Act like a bot, farm all day and flood AH - you was part of the problem.

Well, i was neither farming nor playing pvp in my multiboxing sessions, yet, every of those problems could have been solved differently. As i wrote in my last post, personal random node spawns for a char would be the solution for farming (one node active per character, out of a whole range of nodes). And for PVP.. well, disable interact with target and assist in pvp gameplay. Every problem solved.

Blizzard actually disabled Multiboxing because it is a popular demand. While the solution is not really smart, just destroying the fun of normal multiboxers, and removing multiboxing farming with a sledgehammer with a lot of collateral damage. A smart fix looks different.

if you think "personal spawns" was the issue/a fix with the mass multibox gold farming you have no idea how a game economy works. also world pvp has been dead since around WoD, wpvp was never a big issue cause you simple just leave the area or phase over. We're talking about the big deal breakers not talking petty crap here, petty crap never got us banned for 16 years. The massive stand still multiboxing gold farmers is a big deal cause of game economy.

But as i said, this could have been easily solved by personal nodes for the player. While it was not shared among chars of the same player, but uniquely harvested per player. Currently, a node spawn continues to exist no matter if the same player farms it over and over.

Actually, pvp was one of the biggest issues why people complain. But the bigger issue is the economy, because blizzards implemented spawn system allows the same player to harvest the same node with all of his chars. And the best fix would have been just to limit the node to one pick per player id.

And not to completly disallow Key broadcasting. It is the sledgehammer against a problem which could have been solved way smarter.

Without the massive amount of collateral damage blizzard created now. And yes, the only one responsible for this change are not players who used bad implemented game mechanics blizzard added, but blizzard themself by creating another bad system and removing a complete playstyle with a large banhammer.

I know what you are saying with the nodes, there is a a lot they could've done to fix things instead of banning the software. But we can all agree that multiboxing 60+ accounts to farm gold is a MAJOR MAJOR issue. but i can tell you that no one mass multibox to farm gold till legion or BFA, i heard about it in BFA cause of the 2 streamers. What is the most recent thing that caused this policy change toward multiboxing? not world pvp cause that has been going on for MANY MANY years, its the GOLD FARMING. blizzard is going about it as ALL or NOTHING, totally unacceptable. Many other ways to handle things, which we all have an opinion on how things should be done. for me its to limit number of accounts, for me i think wpvp should be maxed out at 40 and gold farming at 20 (or both at 20). But the facts are facts, mass gold farming is the reason cause that is the most recent new trend.

It is only an issue because blizzard allows that player to farm a single node with 60 characters.

Also.. sorry, but 60 accounts is a very rare occassion. I wonder if there are even 5 multiboxers on the world with a team sized like that.

Actually, blizzard talked about a lot of problems, and not just the economy in their bluepost. And as i said, there is a way better solution to all of those issues than just banning our playstyle and our whole small community and hurting everyone who uses software like isboxer even just for playing 5 man dungeons for a challenge.

Picking a node should just simply be limited to 1 char per player. Thats all it needs to solve the problem. And, well, random spawns for characters, means, your characters do not see the same spawns.

How about... they created a realm or two just for multiboxers.. any items/gold earned there cant be transferred and you cant use the gold to use the store / buy tokens etc. Black auction house = disabled. Basically: if you pay each sub with real money = you can play like you used to do.

yeah so many ways to handle things, just blizzard as a whole is going down hill cause of the people they are hiring. They have a lot of customer support that don't like multiboxers and arn't giving them a refund, that is why its a 50/50 chance of getting a refund cause it depends on who you get. I got lucky, in WoD i did not on a whole another set of accounts. The things going on in the world and blizzard are hiring those types of people. not giving names for a reason.

I never saw a real difference myself. I mean between what I saw in other expansions and BFA when it came to hyperspawn farming. I think WoD had the same and that was 7 years ago.

The constant here if there is one is that the company sucks worse every year. Morhaime is gone and with that comes a lot of unsavory decisions made by people who think too highly of themselves. It was only a matter of time as their corporate machine kicked into high gear that they would start betraying their core audience. What the normies don't understand is post-pandemic the fairweather fans are gone. What's going to be left are the hardcore audience and that number is now remarkably smaller after this. I will laugh and probably cry simultaneously if a year or two from now they start issuing pleas for us to sign back up. Fuck them.

You win by checking out. Seriously multiboxing may be dead but there are a lot of really great games out there that you probably never noticed because you were glued to WoW.

I started playing wow during MoP and quit mid way WoD. MoP was full of mid to mass wpvp multiboxers, I did 40 at the end of mop and the start of wod. WPVP only. Never farmed gold, i don't even remember what i did to get gold. I just came back on Nov 1st for shadowlands, i waited till i could buy shadowlands without buying BFA first. I was enjoying the new leveling system, got to level 42-43. At end of MOP and start of WOD me and preparedwow was the only two 40 boxers playing. There was a streamer named peach he farmed gold with like 10 druids. After i quit and heard they basiclly killed wpvp with no follow during combat, war mode and removed pvp servers during legion/bfa. I was very disappointed, no reason to mass multibox anymore. But something happen when all these gold farmers came up doing 5-20 accounts then you have those two streamers that did over 60 accounts. When i heard that i knew it was instantly bad news. Blizzard will die with their young new customers they are hiring.

While I agree Blizzard went overkill, you're kidding yourself if you think the large multiboxers, as few as they may have been, didn't have a huge negative effect on everyone who gave a damn about WoW. I never played on a server with one of these mega idiots, but when a single video of Prepared gains views back when he first started terrorizing players, I was disgusted at what I saw. I never boxed more than 5, and never liked the idea of people boxing more than that. But never said anything cuz frankly it ain't my place. But the terrible image we have today was just exacerbated by the d-bags who copied that idiot. As few as those instances may have been, players across a region did not like seeing others being bullied even though it wasn't their server and they were never faced with that problem on their own server. I put no blame on Blizzard for this, as much as it sucks, it was way out of hand. I have never seen so many multiboxers crawling around everywhere. Most I'm sure kept to themselves, but the "loud minority" just soured our reputation. The bots just made it 100x worse than it was, and it was already very, very bad.

That's the thing. There have been 40 and 80 boxers before. Sam and Prepared are two that come to mind. Both did all of these things.

Why it's become an issue since WoD is why the game has also sucked since WoD. It's also why they praise the numbers on WoW having more female than male players. Why they're shooting for as much non-white, non-male content they can churn out. Why mobile games (predominately a female activity) are showing up all over WoW.

It's 100% corporate driven interests. It's all about money. Yes, what keeps these games afloat for years are dedicated players who nolife the game, typically men and boys. However it's not all the money in the world. So they're chasing the money regardless of whatever hardcore percentage is offended by their changes.

Don't like mission tables, dailies, nerfing dungeon rewards and heroic gear in world quest content? Tough shit. This is the direction their corporate handlers are telling them to go in. Get those ladies with disposable cash to sign up and buy virtual furry costumes or the new pony on the store.

Of course I have no issues with women playing WoW and all that was fine for years. As the product was designed for both hardcore gaming men and women. It just didn't have as many women. That was also fine. That's not fine to the corporate leadership however.

And so I look at this change in the context of this discussion and it's abundantly clear why multiboxing is now the big bad. They've exhausted their audience cred on botters and now they're going to smash multiboxing. If for no other reason than to appeal to the headless masses who think boxing = botting.

And that I hope explains why I'm pretty indifferent to it. I think in the end Activision was a bad deal for Blizzard and the corporate profit at all cost monster has only started to rear its ugly head. Who knows in 2-3 years WoW will have a P2W shop. It has MTX already on top of being a paid game and a subscription based game. Remember all the money in the world is what they're after.

Make sure it isn't your money they get. That's my advice anyway.
