My Non RAF Boosting Plan

* slaves dont need to follow too deep (example: SM: Cathedral)
* heavy concentrations of mobs per square unit (not so much idle moving. example: lower blackrock spire)
* able to lockout in less than an hour (example: SM: Cathedral)

Found this great addon. When you enter an instance for the 5th time in an hour it will tell you how much time till 5/hr limitation will reset.

Would like to add for alliance, 10-15 SFK. I get my warlock + 2 others there to summon the group. Can't use the summoning stone until 15.

And 15-20ish, Stockades.

I believe you need to be lvl 11 to enter shadow fang keep. That instance is made for boosting. Would go there asap.

I tend to stay a bit longer in the first tbc dungeon, till about lvl 63 after which I start with mana tombs.

In wotlk an awesome dungeon to boost is Drak'thraron keep, definitely if you have a tank. (since you can skip 2 bosses).

deleted nexus from my list. and extended UK to 71. nexus was just too much running around and the density of mobs was less than i thought I remembered. UT had same or similar xp per kill.

I would also recommend you add in the Sunken Temple at level 45. All you have to do is the top portion, leave boostees at entrance, have tank run around (one circle) and gather all the dragonkins, kill them back at the entrance, profit. If you want to do the trolls, you can too, not too far of a run. I do this circle, kill trolls, and the five dragons. FYI, if you want leathers, this is the place to get it, leveling skinning and the leathers...forgot what kind of leather for level 50 mobs...

I posted this today in another thread.. but it's relevant here.

This is what I do, and have been doing all week with my new RAF groups. ( I am Alliance, horde must substitute their own lowbie instances)

10-15: Deadmines - move alts to the first boss when you kill him, stay there until second boss is dead etc. Leave them at the mouth of the final cave for all the exp and then collect them for the run back (through the instance, it's faster than going outside again)

15-23: Stockades - Don't move unless you are getting / turning in quests

23-33: SM Cathedral - Yes, I move them to the first door, and then leave them there the whole instance (you can pull the last boss out of the cathedral to get full exp)

33-42: Scholomance - Move alts 10 feet in to the area with the quest givers. Then stay there for the second-best boosting area in the game.

42-48: BRD - I usually just follow my main through the instance. Be careful of patrols, they will one shot a fresh no gear no talents lvl 42 lol.

48-57: LBRS / UBRS - For LBRS, I clear the first room (patrol and the pack at the back) and head to LBRS with my main, alts following. Then I drop them off at the first ledge you see in the main .. area of LBRS (you will see on the video) Clear LBRS, and then I follow my main through UBRS, but staying a boss behind, so they dont pull aggro and die so easily.

57-63: Hellfire Ramparts - nope.. enter.. kill.. leave repeat. then WAIT a long time because instance timers will ramp up fast.

63-65: Sethekk Halls - Yes, follow the main again staying one boss behind, so you don't pull aggro when you are new. (You CAN skip this if you like, but it's actually faster to go here than to slug through another instance lock of Hellfire to get the last couple levels in there.

65-68: MAgister's Terrace - I move my alts to where i killed the first set of mobs, and then leave them there. GREAT EXP!!

68-71: Utgarde Keep - I have my alts auto-run about 20 seconds after my DK, so they both just basically auto-run through the while instance. DK stops to kill, but he has unholy aura, so he's faster anyway. This is a good spot to stop boosting.

71-80: Quest.. or Dungeon Finder if you have enough gear and an appropriate group (I never plan that far ahead, and I'm always naked when I get here haha) I find questing from 71-80 a lot more interesting, since you no longer get a lvl or two per run, I find grinding UK and other WotLK instances really REALLY boring. And if you have RAF... it's really easy and you can skip most collection quests.

I run with Master Looter always on and always loot bosses and distribute.

My teams are all blood elves, so I always get the Silvermoon tabard first... followed by Org/Bilgewater/Darkspears. Undercity/Thunderbluff when I remember.

You can easily max out all 6 factions by running some of the heroic instances in TBC, just one heroic run per instance makes it so you max out all 6 factions.

I did this with RAF, but no heirlooms whatsoever and with a mediocre-geared paladin, with just a few season 11 honour pieces.

01-11 Quests in starting area. For Blood Elves, 2 hours-ish, ends in Falconwing Square.
11-15 RFC - Slaves on follow, 2 full clears if you go back for the quests at 13, 2.5-3 clears otherwise.
15-20 SFK - Leave slaves on entrance at 15. One full clear, then pick up quests on second run. Second clear with quests gets you to 20.
20-40 SM - I do full clears of all four instances, doing quests when available.
- Graveyard leave at entrance, clear to stairs before graveyeard and leave slaves at top of stairs.
- Library leave at entrance clear to next quest giver, move to quest giver and leave slaves there.
- Armory Leave at entrance, clear to stairs after courtyard, leave at stairs.
Seven full clears, includes quests.
40-45 Scholomance - 4 full clears, including all quests
45-50 Stratholme - 1 run 'live' side, 3 runs 'dead' side. All quests included.
50-60 BRS - 4 full clears, includes quests. For Upper, leave toons at the bridge by the entrance. For Lower, bring toons to the ogre section, leave them on the bridge in there.
60-61 Hellfire Ramparts. - 1 run with quests.
61-63 Blood Furnace - 2 runs, including quests.
63-65 Mana Tombs. - 2 runs -> 64, get quests. 3rd run -> 65
65-66 Auchenai Crypts - 2 runs with quests.
66-68 Sethek Halls - 5 runs with quests.
68-70 Shadow Labyrinth - 4 runs with quests.

You can do HoL three times, or UP twice, up to you, either way works.

RaF experience does not stack with rested experience.

I'm still confused on what you mean by the "cost of RaF." RaF is the suggested route for new multiboxers to take advantage of the 300% increased experience -- Not for people who already have 5 accounts and want to keep them. If someone who is new to multiboxing was willing to start up multiple accounts, they're paying the exact same price whether they start them up linked via RaF or not.

I didn't notice this before but, your initial post states "My Non RAF Boosting Plan." Are you crazy enough to boost w/o RaF? I would personally find boosting w/o RaF a very painful endeavor and would never recommend that leveling route to anyone -- That high level character is going to drain your XP w/o that 300% bonus. I guess if you loot everything you'll have thousands and thousands of cloth to sell which might make it worth your time (doubtful), but that's also going to increase your time ten fold.

If someone didn't have RaF, I would suggest to them to quest instead of boost in instances. Unless something has changed, the experience that the high level character takes from the party just doesn't make it worth it in my opinion.

If someone had 5 existing accounts and wanted to take advantage of RaF, then yes, they would have to purchase new accounts with the expansion they wanted to be able to RaF to (e.g. Vanilla/BC for 70 or Wrath for 80). You don't have to transfer any characters over to the new accounts if you split up your boosting.

You'll throw away the accounts in red after you're done and you're only out the cost of the base game and any expansions (currently $40 per account to enable RaF to 80) with no need to transfer a single character. If you're only looking to boost a single team then this method really isn't worth it for the cost and I would, again, recommend to just quest a single team up to max level w/o RaF. If you needed to boost multiple teams then, you have to ask yourself is my time and ~$160 worth it?

I notice alot of people mention Hellfire Ramparts but they neglect to mention that you can pull the ENTIRE instance with a DK. When you enter the instance there is a ledge to the right park your slaves at the door right there jump on the ledge with a DK and DnD up above you. It may take a couple tries to get it to allow this (you have to have the center of DnD on the side of the bridge almost. This will pull every mob in the instance including the first boss.

The main problem with this strat is it only takes 5 minutes to full clear the instance at that point, unless you go kill the other two bosses then its 10 tops. I used this when I got tired of questing in outlands.

I came back to WoW four months ago after a nine month hiatus. I was inspired by both NoLife's mixed team videos and my failure to beat mid to endgame content with a melee heavy team. This led me to start adding more classes to my accounts. I'm still leveling toons. Being away from the game for so long questing from 1-65 was fresh and fun. But for low to mid levels its not as fast as non RAF boosting. I cant really speak for RAF though because I don't have enough disposable income to do that.

For me non RAF boosting is not quite as hellish as you say. You'r Alliance I'm Horde so that could be another factor. I'm just say'n. I can sit and watch Netflix while boosting in an instance. And your right about the loot. The loot from boosting in instance is another motivating factor. For those of you that are squeamish about looting all that you can look forward to aoe looting in the near future. Untill then other mitgating factor to the hells of looting are a couple addons i recomend.

To each their own, but you haven't done all 80 levels yet so you can't really speak on that front. After you've done 80 levels of non-RaF boosting, you might end up changing your story. ;)

This changes like... 2 instances at the very beginning of the game.

I've leveled one team without RAF.
It wasn't a very fun process.
That was two years ago.

I'm very slowly leveling another team, also without RAF.
This is a sporadic process, where the team is played for an afternoon or evening... and then gets logged for a couple of weeks.
I do have some of the bonus experience heirlooms, I think +20% experience... plus always full rested.
These are 66th now, and I'd like them to be 85th before MoP.

I have another team I would like to play.
But they're 22nd or so, and I cannot see leveling another team without RAF.
Especially given that I'm leveling the first team now, and its going to be a very long process.

It's more a case of wanting to have a given composition for MoP.
But the process of getting them to maximum level... in a word, sucks.





Rested experience and RAF experience does not stack.
You get the better of the two (RAF).
However, you will earn (and not spend) rested experience, during the RAF process.
So you would want to log your team off, for a week of logged out time, in an inn or home city.
Just so, when you reach 80th and have no more RAF, you do have 1.5 levels worth of rested (double) experience.

If the RAF process is fast, and you boost up to 80th in a weekend...
You won't necessarily have full rested, but that doesn't really matter; you'd still like to have as much as possible.

I'm doing RaF now, and can confirm that rested xp doesn't get used at all while boosting. My paladins are 50 now, and still show +2500 bonus xp from the last time I used them at lvl 20 I think. And they went from 20-50 last night in an extremely casual night of boosting(afk half the time).

I dumped 4 accounts, which had 2 high level toons each, and started 4 new ones. Have an account with 4-5 80+ toons, and that became my booster account. $50 each for the upgrade to cata, so that's $200. I get 3 months to boost new teams, and each team takes something like 2-3 days of normal play time. At this rate I'll get have 5 accounts with all the classes on each well before RaF ends in 90 days. Free level grants cuts that time down some more. Maybe I'll get bored of it after a while, but that's the plan at least.

I had the same idea as you Jack, then asked for help in another thread. They recommended RaF and dumping the old accounts. Might seem like it's not worth it, but it is. Indeed.
