So, Old Kingdom was the daily today, downed Volazj in 18 seconds, probably not a record but I was pretty happy with the DPS I got from the team.

Somehow I don't believe this. He starts to cast the first insanity at 66% and it's a 5 second cast. I don't think you can do about 300k damage in 5 seconds.
Maybe this is 18 seconds after the last insanity ends? Or is there now a way to interrupt his insanity?
If you dps him into his next cast of insanity he will start the cast of insanity #2. so you get 10secs or so to get in some damage.
edit" also insanity#1 starts casting at 66% if memory serves me.
editx2: also this one of the few fights where a warrior tank shines. Reflect his dot and it makes it mucho easier.
Zoiks! Thats fast! Pitty you dont have any dps meters on screen to show the dps - Im curious to see what numbers you pull.
They changed the mechanic so that if you push him into his 2nd insanity before his 1st goes off you don't get shadows (perhaps it was always like that)
The only consequence though is that you don't get the normal loot cursor, you have to sort of hunt and peck on the boss to get the loot.
I'll re-run it Friday and post the meters. Maybe I'll fraps it if I can get it setup.
I've done some serious DPS on this fight as well, and I thought that the insanity was not "out runable" - meaning, no matter how much DPS you lay down, you're going to get 2x Insanity phases.
I'll have to try it again though and see.
Its been this way from the start as far as I know. Ive been doing it for a while like this and the first person on these boards that did it this way was Niley in 16s

You can push through both phases, but you will most likely wipe after he dies as there will be double the amount of adds to kill. Boss is still lootable though =D

300.000/5chars/10seconds=6k on each char. Well a paladin tank won`t get that much so I`d say around 7k on the dps. Which doesn`t go with the preciously posted dps screenshot + prettymuch impossible on a single target rofl. Guess I`m missing something here.
btw could you post your armory and dps macro? I`m wondering how your shamans are doing this much damage:rolleyes:
He has at most 431,392hps
You need to dps the last 66% in 10s so
287595 in 10s ie 28759.5 group dps if we take an arbitrary value of 2K dps for the tank (frankly this is on the low side)
then you 4 dps need to put out 6690dps (remember this is maximum)
In the SS the Total hps were slightly lower at 428007 and recount is showing that the time on the boss was longer than 16s which is why the dps numbers look lower than you would expect
Pally was on the boss for 20s and the others for around 17.5s going by recounts total damage/dps

Well it looks like you have 2200SP without weapon enchant on. I have 2k with so there is a difference.
My macro is about the same, only difference is that I have CL on castrandom and LB in the castsequence. I should try yours. Maybe I`ll get higher then what I`m now.
I would be very surprised if your dps increased using that macro as it is very inefficient
I assume you are referring to the build in delay castsequence brings and /click is better (which I am too lazy to setup) but if you mean something else I would be interested in seeing the details. Thanks.
Well theres 2 points
1st is the one you mention ie the server/client nature of wow last time I ran the numbers a 50ms latency can afftect your dps by around 5% and obviously gets worse the higher your latency
2nd You effectively are using a fixed rotation which has not been optimal dps for a while when they buffed Lightning overload in a hotfix after 3.1. Back then it was more dps to delay a LB to make sure you cast LvB on cooldown. These days it is a dps loss to do that. The cooldowns just do not line up nicely to model a priority rotation in a castsequence. A fixed rotation also benefits less from Blood Lust or any temporary haste effect. On a short fight it probably does not make much of a difference (except when using Blood Lust) but you will notice the improvement on a longer fight using a priority rotation
The last thing is more of a nitpicking thing that shouldnt really affect dps and that is there is no need to have the last line as a /castrandom just use /cast

Try using drums of the wild for druid buff as well :)
I think its cool for everyone that can push it this fast, i usually see insanity pop when he is at 10%.
Whats your moonkin macro look like? your moonkin is doing much higher dps then mine (you also have better gear hehe).

I have mouse button 4 (I use a 5 button mouse) with ISBoxer to swap cast bars when I press the mouse button, and switches back when I do it again. Normally I just use the wrath bar for trash, but I switch as eclipse procs for boss fights.

So if you're using the macro the whole time, it will just reset at the end, when you're between battles, and it takes like 10 seconds before you hit your key again, then you macro has been reset (because 10 > 5 :p)

I have never been a fan of Castsequence since when I meet a boss which took longer to down than I had spells in my castsequence, resulting in my DPS just stopping.....
But this is nice to add in the end, ill definetly remember this:

Nice work, I hate Volazj so rarely go there.
I've downed him once by burning through the insanities but had the most bizarre thing happen. On my tank, priest and one shaman he hadn't died (had about 5k hp left) when he ended the second insanity, but on my other shamans he had died. I was able to kill the images that were up on my pally (although there didn't seem to be two lots of them), then finished off Volazj. Once I'd killed him this time, his body was in two different places (one for the toons with the first death, and the other for the second death). Weird!
Anyone else come across this?

I've tried burning him down before he finishes any insanity casts, but don't have the dps for it just yet, sometimes though, it seems that some characters get to continue dpsing him even after some of the others get insanity, so i suspect he can be rather buggy when burning him into double insanity mode.Quote:

I dont box too much right now, i just do daily heroic boxing so i dont have deal with retarded pugs, so on live i havent cleared it(i got FoS as my daily yesterday, so i cleared it, was super easy, 15 mins clear - if that), but i did it all on the ptr with much less geared toons and when adds in HoR had 40% more hp, ive posted videos of first two in movies section.Quote:
