Herald Volazj - 18 seconds

So, Old Kingdom was the daily today, downed Volazj in 18 seconds, probably not a record but I was pretty happy with the DPS I got from the team.

Somehow I don't believe this. He starts to cast the first insanity at 66% and it's a 5 second cast. I don't think you can do about 300k damage in 5 seconds.

Maybe this is 18 seconds after the last insanity ends? Or is there now a way to interrupt his insanity?

If you dps him into his next cast of insanity he will start the cast of insanity #2. so you get 10secs or so to get in some damage.

edit" also insanity#1 starts casting at 66% if memory serves me.

editx2: also this one of the few fights where a warrior tank shines. Reflect his dot and it makes it mucho easier.

Zoiks! Thats fast! Pitty you dont have any dps meters on screen to show the dps - Im curious to see what numbers you pull.

They changed the mechanic so that if you push him into his 2nd insanity before his 1st goes off you don't get shadows (perhaps it was always like that)

The only consequence though is that you don't get the normal loot cursor, you have to sort of hunt and peck on the boss to get the loot.

I'll re-run it Friday and post the meters. Maybe I'll fraps it if I can get it setup.

I've done some serious DPS on this fight as well, and I thought that the insanity was not "out runable" - meaning, no matter how much DPS you lay down, you're going to get 2x Insanity phases.

I'll have to try it again though and see.

Its been this way from the start as far as I know. Ive been doing it for a while like this and the first person on these boards that did it this way was Niley in 16s

You can push through both phases, but you will most likely wipe after he dies as there will be double the amount of adds to kill. Boss is still lootable though =D

I went back in and FRAP'd the fight, unfortunately I decided to upgrade my video editing software and its now hosed. So here's a screenshot of the meters for now. Note that I got the kill down to 16 seconds the last 2 nights.
