    Default 5x Huntard wack spec?

Well, I'll be 70 soon, and want to try arena of course, I've been thinking of non traditional specs that will help in different ways. I'm currently thinking of a 21/24/16 spec:

    http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/hunter/talents.html?tal=50203000505010000000005052012053100000000033030320 11000000000000

This of course leaves out the BW/ TBW free anti crowd control "Iwin" button that my hunters love. But, my thinking is that by having many close quarters escape mechanisms, not just the 15sec of immunity will help against the warrs/ rogues/ priests/ warlox that get too close and either decimate 1 or more chars or screw me over with aoefear. The macro I normally use is the Steady shot/ auto shot rotation, I'm thinking if I can get 2 of the hunters to weave in aimed shot for the 50% reduction in healing it will be harder to dispel. Also, the concussive barrage should lead to a (up to) 30% chance for enemies to be dazed every shot rotation, right?

I figure having a round robin scatter or intimidate macro with very good traps might actually be viable (in theory anyway). The improved wing clip may save me once a year too.

Feel free to rip me a new 1 if you think is no good for whatever reason, I'm open to criticism.

In BG's (only lvl 39), I use pets as hand granades (with 50-70 yard throw range). I send pets at 50 yards and then just run away. If they try and stop to kill pets, I walk up to 38 yards and unload into them while healing pet (draenei). If they turn to me, fine, you can have few hits before I feign and you have to retarget me while pets are chewing you up. It takes a few times to get the hang of when to just let pets eat them and when to turn and fight. I am not saying this is the best way (not sure if you have room to run in arenas). Just saying, it works for me. Of course I get rogues on me cause they are the only ones that can get close without me seeming them. I just try to trap them (drop 3 and then 2 on castsequence) or just back up my alts and walk my main forward (so they can have range). They usually die. One quick bandage and move on. Even if they kill a pet, there are 4 others and I am still safe. And they are hurt. Again, might not be the best, but it works for me. I am more defensive than rush in and attack.

    Default Huntard's

Specificaly im trying to refine my boxing right now for hunters. also im looking specificaly at arena and yes i believe the best way to go is either bm straight out or mm.

Now the reason why is w/ bm you can put alot of damage very fast not to mention that the cc immunity is godly in arena 5 Xs multi shot on a critty day can be as much as 15k per target Xs 3 is omg wtf bbq for every thing else if i was a healer and my team just took 45k damage i would just / afk.

now if you can sick all the pets on 1 person hes dead no matter what class and 5 multi shot will kill some one a few traps and full mm spec should by default w/ damn near any healer drop any class palli bubble aside the advantage boxers have is FF (focused fire) ie. every thing focused on 1 target.

even if 2 toons are disabled the other 3 are shot for shot on the same target making multi boxing very viable in arena. as long as you dont get spam feared you should be able to hold your own relativly well and i would love to see your team make some great progress. cheers and happy hunting

also for the listed spec i would say no lol sory just my opinion not enough hp and w/ no heals 2 or 3 of your hunters could be relativly easily dispatched and as the other team will likely have heals.

this is bad w/ no heals your team will have to over power and dominate from the start full force explosion of damage and chaos the pets will help especialy because the other team will not have a chance to size you up all my teams charge in and explode and w/ more FF due to multi boxing i think you can easily overpower.

That does not look like a good 5-box spec to me. You will not have time to properly use all that CC.

Also, improved concussive shot is -AWESOME-. It gives you an almost certain 3-second stun every 12 seconds.

I would probably go with 41/5/15 (BW fun), OR 0/41+/*, which gives you -very- heavy multishots.. 5 hunters with multishot spec and arena gloves bonus are sure to drop many targets.

The cool thing about multishot compared to chain lightning is that it's SUPER EASY to get off, and you will do ridiculous amounts of damage.

Edit: Also, as a hunter very little of your dps output in arena is from auto and steady, which makes Concussive barrage pretty useless for aren, I THINK.. might be worth it for the autoshots, but you usually don't want to touch steady shot in arena due to all interrupts. Improved concussive is vastly more useful.

So wouldn't a decent solution be to drop one hunter for a healer? Either a 5th toon of your own, or an outside healer. 4x hunters should still deal quite a whallup. And if your healer is a hybrid, they can help with the initial attack (resto shaman maybe? or Holy pally adding a holy shock? Priest for extra DoT/fear?)

My 5 man team (non multiboxing, friends and relatives) went up against a NE Hunter x 4 and NE Druid in the Arenas... Holy Hunters Batman (since disbanded). Yes they all shadowmelded, and had prowl on their kitties. They all pop out of shadowmeld and got a pretty good initial barrage down. Last time I checked they were at about a 41% win rate. Interesting concept nonetheless...

My shaman+pally partner team absolutely obliterated a 5 Hunter team (non multiboxed) over and over and over again until we couldn't really farm them for points anymore. They weren't the best players, but they certainly didn't put down as much multi-shot ownage as I would have expected.

if the 5 can survive the first 15 secs and kill the healer(s) at the same time , they should win. if one hunter would put of aspect of nature , the shammy 4 or 5 grps would be a lot more interesting. pets would have to be BM. I was going 41 BM and 20 Marks this gives aimshoot that just too fun x 5. I have 70 hunter in full s1 gear and he does very well 1vs 3 if only 1 healer on other team. key is right pet selection for grp 1 owl 1 pig, 1 wolf , 1 ravanger, one aoe.

I have been running in AV with 4 hunters and 1 priest lvl 61 now. will try areana 5 man with they hit 70 with 5 hunters

One good grp would be 4 hunters and 1 enhan shammy for buff on ap and agi. that grp is really fun.

This is what I'd do, although I don't believe it's possible to have much success with 5 hunters in arena, I would spec them all TBW and start the fight by sending all 5 dps pets after their healer with a mend pet already ticking, then I'd drop 1 frost trap where i stand and wait for their dps to come, when they arrive I'd pop TBW and lay a string of frost traps every ten yards on my way towards the healer/target as I hunt him down and the dps has to work their way through my frost traps behind me giving me a little extra time to start taking down their heals, casters in the back. You have 18 seconds to take down at least 2-3 of them or consider it a loss. 5 pets alone should be able to drop most average healers and definitely rip apart any undergeared healer/player within a short span.

When/if you drop a couple of them before TBW expires you can now take down the others fairly easily with 5 pets, raptor strikes, and immo traps. If they're range classes, they are in for a hurtin. The key is to CC their dps with frost traps, and take a couple down during TBW when you can't be cc'ed yourself.

I'd expect to hang around 1500-1600 with this strategy. You won't be getting your season weapons unless you're extremely skilled, but you will trounce any undergeared and/or uncoordinated team with your dps and ability to not be cc'ed for 18 seconds alone. 1500-1600 doesn't seem like much, but with a comp like this, and 5 boxing them you can't expect amazing things unless you overachieve. I'd be impressed by a 5xhunter squad hanging around 1600.

Now, if you are adamant about specing different, I could only suggest a wyvern sting + scatter shot spec for massive crowd control. I'd use scorpions and viper sting the crud out of the opposing casters (dps to remove them from the fight as serious threats, and healers because they're healers) while trapping/wyvernsting/scattershot the other threats.

    Hope i helped some.
