Default Warsong Gulch with a 5 man team.. What to do.

So.. As a fresh 5-man player, having 5 warlocks, I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how I should approach my first Battleground, WSG.
I'm thinking of things like tabbing through players and dotting them up, before moving on to the next person.

I'd also love to hear what experiences you've had from other players with regards to attitude etc..

Wear flame-retardant suit... Your teammates will probably not like you.

I'd say that you might try staying on defense and just fearing the heck out of everyone who tries to go for the flag. You're gonna get owned by rogues after (or during) the first assault, but it might buy time for your team.

What works for me with 4xShaman is to go with the offense (not actually run the flag, mind you) and support my flag runner until we get near mid-field. Then I break off and go pop the Enemy Flag Carrier with insane burst damage to drop/return the flag. That will often score the first cap for my team. Subsequent points I either repeat that strategy, or I hang back on Defense and prevent the other team from grabbing the flag. This defense strategy is only working now that my guys have much more gear, however. (And it requires your teammates to actually mount an effective offense.)

5xWarlocks in WSG is going to suck. Just be prepared for that.
    Cranky old-timer.

I'm going to have to man up pretty soon and run some wsg. My plan is to take my guys into the game in teams of two instead of going for the entire thing at once. It may be a little slower, but if it increases the chance of winning I'm hoping that I will at least end up even for tokens/time. Any other ideas for increasing the wsg token rate?

    Go with all 5..
Try to get a friend or 2 with you, I usually go with a holy pally or a resto drood :P
I run up to the tunnel, then up to the speed buff, he grabs it, calls me if there is 2+ defenders, he grabs flag, comes back down.
Then we take the tunnel out, call "ping enemy flagcarrier on map please" go there, kill him, return flag.. I hold back their ppl, while my pally/druid runs home.

But seriously.. Go with all 5.... If you have so sucky gear that you cant contribute, do some other BGs for honor/marks and get that gear first.

With my pally or drood with me, my 4 shaman now have a 95% winrate in WSG... When i was fresh, it was 99% loss.

Thanks for the advice. I've been running AV a lot to work out the kinks in my playstyle as well as to gear up so hopefully I won't be completely worthless

I did my first WSG's 2 days ago with my 5 Shamans (at level 39). Even though my damage output was fairly good(In one match (out of the 5 i did) I placed: 1:st, 2:nd, 3:rd, 4:th and 6:th in the alliance team) people didnt like my precense at all. I had multiple comments about multiboxers not beloning in BG. I have to admit that I wasnet 100% focued on the goal (to capture / defend the flag) ... I really wanted to melt some faces, but hey 90% of all people act that way in a random BG.

I play alliance, and what i discovered was that almost infront oh the Hord tunnel there is some "bushes" or what ever thats supost to be, which you can stand inside.. i pop out totems and its all covered by it.. and normaly it takes the hord some time to discover that i am standing inside it with 4 guys. As they will have to have Enemy Names or Name Plates or somthing like that on to truly see me. From that posision i ofter can just shot everything that passes out from their GY and north and when EFC comes runing i mount inside and just rush him and burst him down with NS bolts + shock and grap the flag directly... Trying to nuke him on range might fail.. or.. yeah you will for sure kill him.. but one of his suporter will retake the flag and continue... so its kinda wasted.. Go for the rush into melee range and brust him down.

In general i have found that WSG is the place where we quad boxers are most hated etc.. since there will only be 6 others they normaly will suck and kinda full up... but if you do get them all to fo and run the flags as 1 grp of 6 guys it can work really good with the tack i just discribed anyway.. a defence should be cose to the enemys entrence of tunnel or ramp.. Not in your flag room.

Warsong gulch - level 10-19 range

The 19 is the most heavily twinked brackets - and the two classes that are the worst for warlocks pretty much rule the roost there. (rogues and hunters). I found it very frustrating on any clothie I've tried at that level.

I suppose running as a group of 5 will help.

I would probably suggest running with imps for the extra damage. Ideally you want room to move about. Flag room fights can be very very hectic, and 2 or 3 enemy should be able to get you involved in a fight, and have a speedy rogue rush in and be out of the flag room before you can even dot them up.

Instead I would go quite aggressive with 5 locks. Running around mad, tab targetting and dotting multi targets. After you've got a load dotted switch to a clothie and concentrate on taking them out.. if you get any time left unharrassed 5x shadowbolt. If you have it at level 19 searing pain is a great spell to spam.

Make sure you have 5 points in improved corruption. That way you don't need to plant your feet to get 2 dots on all the enemy you see.

I would suggest having your fear on a round robin - and remember to use fear on the enemy flag carrier if you can, but also consider using fear on the support healers that a decent team will have running with them.

If you want a bit of variety try going up on the enemys roof and multi dot any defenders you see. Those that cant heal will be dead before they get up there to you, and you can always skip back out of sight after dotting them. (not sure if you need grim reach for that) but you can do something similar from the roof of the room in the flag room (if that makes sense). But they can get to you faster. Great for softening up defense before your team mates take the flag (with a coordinated team).
