I'll toss out my peanut gallery comments:
- A minimum post count would just encourage people to grind out their post count. We play Warcraft, it enforces that behavior pretty well, I'd rather not see the same pointless behavior encouraged here as well.
- Lets face it, the average person is average. This usually means the "elite" think they are a waste of oxygen and should be removed from the breeding stock, I know I do, but if we get rid of them then the elite would be average. I don't know about everyone else, but I don't like being average. I want to be a unique and individual snowflake - just like everyone else.
- Stupid people that want to be spoon-fed are a fact of life. A large chunk of people will never use search, will never read the stickies, the wiki, or do any research on what they want to know. We have to live with it unless we shut ourselves up in a tower. I believe the problem with elitist communities that create to high of a barrier of entry is they tend to miss out on a new and interesting solution, or way of looking at a problem, usually proposed by a newer un-indoctrinated individual in the community.
Personally, let everyone speak. The stupid ones will get bashed over the head a couple times. I'm sure most of us don't get to openly bash stupid people in our day jobs, we can only hope we never run out of stupid (and that they decide to post outside of New Multi-Boxers & Support)
- We will always see people asking if X computer can support 5 Warcraft clients unless we start deleting these posts, or moving them into New Multi-Boxers & Support.
- We will always see people complaining about spending a couple bucks for Keyclone.
So long as dual-boxing.com is an open public forum these problems will occur.
Anything cool is flypaper for stupid. Right now, multiboxing is cool.
I still don't understand pre-paid time cards.
