    Default Affinity Problem in Vista

    Had 4 WoW windows launched and out of sheer curiosity (due to strange performance issues I've noticed recently) checked the affinity of my WoW instances. All 4 of them were running on cores 1 and 2. So I had to manually change them, despite it being defined in Keyclone.

    I checked with a guildy and they are runing XP and Keyclone is apparently setting the affinity correctly.

    Latest version of Keyclone, so perhaps it was broken from a recent update? But at least I solved my FPS issues! Once all 4 WoWs are running on 4 seperate cores, it increases performance quite a bit.

    Small question from me here, I am not sure where but I read a bluepost regarding the affinity and that world of warcraft is only able to address two cores by standard.
    I guess this is the case if you don't tell keyclone to assign client 1 to core 1 (and so on...) so he just goes and takes two cores by himself leaving 2 cores unused?

    Yes, World of Warcraft uses core 0 and 1 by default.

    But it is possible to assign other cores through keyclone so WOW will use them or is it limited to two cores?

    You can scratch this Keyclone, I figured out what I was doing wrong. Sorry about that!!

    Yes Xorn it is possible.

    I was using Maximizer to do my commands in keyclone. When I had one monitor I guess this worked fine and Keyclone was able to set the affinities right even though for my commands I was making Keyclone launch Maximizer.exe --blah blah blah

    So instead I decided to figure out how to use Keyclones built in Maximizer thingy.

    Hard to explain but I'll post some screenshots of what I was doing wrong. Whoops!

    @d0z3rr
    thanks for letting me off the hook...
    i was staring at it going "it's one line.. how'd i mess that up??"

    i hope the maximizer was simple enough to figure out.
    let me know if you have any questions

    btw, there is a beta if you would like to give it a whirl. so far, 1 bug reported... otherwise, seems happier
