I'm using:
1 x Paladin consecrate - /laugh @ %t
1 x Shaman healing totem, stoneclaw totem, fire nova totem (will work magma totem into the rotation when I get it).
3 x Mages AoE their little hearts out.
I've yet to have the mages take any damage..but they are only 21 right now too.. Things could change later in the game.

I didn't form my group with AoE in mind, but have been able to AoE effectively at times. Since I'm powerleveling with the 70 shaman, I usually have him pull a group of mobs and drop an aggro totem and then a fire nova totem. The I use consecrate with the paladin and hellfire with the warlock, and after that I start spamming arcane explosion with the mage and holy nova with the priest. It turned out to be a lot of fun, but probably not very practical once I hit Outland instances.

I ae farm with my 4 shaman and paly all the time. Magma Totems FTW+CL 8) 4xmagmas do a lot of dps..might not be as fast as locks or mages BUT i can do anything and everything else with the same team!

I have Pally, Priest, Mage x3. Kill quests are a joke, Pally mounts up, gathers them up then I have frost nova staggered on the mages with Arcane Explosion and Holy Nova on the Priest works like a charm, if you arcane power before that your laughing.

How about 4 Hunters and a Priest?
4 Explosive Traps + 4 Volleys + 4 Pets on Aggressive (even better w/Screech). PoM and Holy Nova as aggro free heals, CoH for emergencies.
Drop traps, send pets to far off mobs that will aggro other nearby mobs, bring the pets back, traps go off, feign, start volleying, pets chomping the whole time.

5 mages ftw.. Seed of corruption takes to much time, just spam AE. But respawns make 5 AoE farm teams kinda useless. Just farming instances would be more money i think. Especially heroics. 1-2 epic gems/nether vortices(from badges) an hour or DAILIES!!!!.
I know there's a spot in SWP to grind aldor/scryer rep that has instant spawns, but i fail to recall where it was exactly. :\
My pally's consecration doesn't hold agro against my 3 mages continuous AOE...
I have my pally gather up everyone, consecrate while my shaman drops totems... then mages AOE.

Prot pally, 3 mages, holy priest, all aoe damage, and speccing the pally full prot and the mages full - threat arcane means the paladin can actually hold aggro.
I can pull everything on the top two layers of the scryer side of BT and nuke it down with no effort in shitty blue gear.
