Instance grinding vs quests

I currently have a 70 mage and am wondering what is the fastest way to help level my 16 drood. It seems that running my toon through instances and not doing the quests may be the fastest way to use my /played time.

I was thinking...

WC 16-19
SFK 20 - 21
BFD 22-25
RFK 26-28
Quests 28- 33
RFD 33-34
SM 34-40
Ulda 40-43
ZF 44-48
Mara 49-50
ST - 51-53
BRD - 54-55

for power leveling aoe'ing an instance will be faster than quests. And you can just stay in SM for a long time instead of moving around unless you need gear from RFD. just do SM starting with GY at 28 and end at cath at 40. Same goes for ulda, I personally like ZF over ulda so just go there early and stay longer then go to mara. And you can go to mara before 49 easily since you are just PLing. Make sure to bring an enchanter though since you will have a lot of loot you cant use, might as well make some money off it to pay for training

You put Mara way to late. Purple can be done at 43ish and at 49 wouldn't be worth it. One thing you can do is run orange/purple at 45 to get keyed for Inner Mara and then go back to ZF.

Also the list is kinda dependant on your group, depending on drops you may prefer one over the other (I only ran Uld once). But overall up to ZF, which is where I'm at currently, it looks good.

hehe read the OP again, he is talkig about PLing a single 16 drood with a 70 mage, no groups involved But i agree. id say remove ulda and do ZF from 40-44 then mara till 48/49 then move to ST for 49-53 then BRD till whenever, and depending on your mage maybe even LBRS

I still say do Ulda at least once (well you would need a 3rd) simply because the quest after Archaides gives mad XP.

your right it does (like 12k I think) but Id say with the time lost in travel to the instance, getting a 2nd person even if they /follow the whole time and traveling around to finish that quest outweighs its benefit when you instead would just be zoning out of ZF or mara, clicking 'reset all instances' and running right back in for another clear. If ulda were closer in level to BRD id say go with nothing but ulda over mara because once you hit the level cap there you can run over to BRM and keep going but making the trek down there for one or a few runs before having to go back to desolace/tanaris kills the benefits.

70 tauren fury warrior power leveling threw these instances

20-25 in RFK
25-40 in Scarlet Monetary (Library -> Armory -> Cath, reset)

Crap. Voted before I saw the "PL with 70 mage" thing.

With a 70 to PL you (especially AoE classes) instance bombing runs are the fastest and best in terms of money from loot.

Without a 70, straight questing is the fastest way to solo/duo/trio to 70.

With a 4-/5-box group, quest until it's instance time then run the instances at your level or just when the lowest quest starts turning green to you.

With the changes to the 20-60 XP rates, questing positively FLIES through the levels, even multiboxing AND doing the collection quests.

From lvl 10-40 powerlevelign is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY faster, specially if you have a mage and better yet a epic one

Seems like we all have different opinions.. So far I think Instances.. But Im not 70 yet so I dono.
