I've never really understood the attraction to really long numbers as a minigame. I remember being on cloud 9 for a week straight when I won a roll for a +3mp5 piece of armor on my first toon. I was recently back in EQ2 and the bloat there is just absurd, I was upgrading stats 100 at a time between expansion gates. At that point, nothing means anything - it's like this stat/my damage matters so little that I need extreme amounts to have any impact. I don't think that's fun, I think it's a cluttered mindgame, lol. I don't even run Recount, I prefer to gauge my uberness on how much more smoothly I handle a fight. I'm happy enough with DBM telling me I have a new record.

That said, nothing about the expansion is exciting for me and I don't think I'll be picking it up this time around. It's just not clicking with me. Maybe after a few solid content patches, but what they're offering right now just doesn't feel very interesting to me.

I hated it too.. but I'm getting used to it. .. and I see it as a fresh much needed challenge from having it too easy.

I have had to go with the x3 Hunters Disc Priest and Guardian druid, because for me I think that's the only way I will have a hope in hell of clearing anything, with the pets offtanking it helps with damage reduction... this will most likely be my only team as I have solo toons also.

I understand the limitations - such as new dungeon mechanics that will make it impossible.. but I will still have fun with what I can.. when it stops being fun to box then I will quit.

don't get me wrong, im not bothered about big numbers, but as it stands now the gear improves so slowly that it takes away the sense of progression when earning gear from completing a higher level / harder dungeon. For example, As has been discussed on the wow forums, a lot of BC slotted gear is better than almost all the levelling wotlk gear due to gems boosting stats far more than higher ilevels. And some items have zero improved stats despite being 20-30 ilevels higher.
