Even if they "earn" S2 or S3, they should still be able to win against someone in pvp blues. And how is losing in a BG over and over for S1 any different?

It's not bad compared to the S1 set. In fact I'd rather spend a few gold and get the blue honor sets than do the S1 set grind. My problem is just that the stats for casters are complete crapwhen it comes t ospelldamage, the dps priest has 121 spelldamage, the druid dpscaster has 141, druid s1 dpscaster has 204.

The hunter blue honored set is reasonable, 102 agility, 110 attack power, 68 critrating. Theorycrafting right now how to level my doomkin duo, looks like it's honored set at level 70 and S1/S2 staff for pvp and then I have a pretty good start. Unlike between march 07 until whenever 2.4 comes out. You can't get a premade without 150+ resilience, you can't get 150+ resilience without painful horrible grinds, you can't even do arena since every S3 bastard ever sells games and you encounter full S3 people in your 1500 rank games. Screw people like those arena pvp elitists who quit the game at this.

Does anyone know if they will have to original HWL/GM looks? I dont like how now all the pvp gear looks like tier gear. I miss the days when you could spot an alliance paladin or warrior from across AV from their golden ealgles on the shoulders.
All these sets look the same. Seriously. Every class side by side can look exactly the same except for pets or class-specific visual enhancements.

Although these are nice for fresh 70's and amazing for multiboxer's, just assuming your already going to be honored with all 5 @ 70. The game is getting way too easy, blizzard is basically giving away free gear, now that you can gem with BT Gems its pretty much ridiculous, anyone can spend a set amount of time farming badges and go into BT with a nice set of badge gear gemmed with BT gems.

2.0.1 [PvP and Arena gear that you had to work for]
2.1[Black Temple, Which you had to work towards to get in.][Nerfed Gruul]
2.2.2[Pretty Damn Nice Badge Gear.][Removements from SSC/TK Attunments] [Nerfed Kael'Thas]
2.3[ZA *(Free Loot imo)*][Leveling faster to 60][Even MORE badge loot]
2.4[Remove Attunments from the game entirely][Give BT Quality badge gear for doing easy heroics][Give BT quality Gems for doing easy Heroics][Make Magtheridon Easier(WTFF!!!!)][Give (Basically Free) Blue PvP Set upon hitting 70]

So we went from having Attunments all the way from SSC to BT, Having to do content in Blues/Greens [Not Badge Gear], Having to start Arena in Blues/Greens [No S1], Having to BUY BT gems, which the BT guilds earned respectively, and having to do the bosses on a pretty difficult scale too:
    -Free Gear
    -Free Gems
-Free Entry into higher level Raids.
    -Easy bosses

Personally, im really dissapointed blizzard eventually made TBC for the casual player, during the original game alot of boss nerfs went through but not much other than that.

    OMG!! What R they thinking??!!1

Gee, I wonder if it has anything to do with that expansion coming up? Maybe they want people who never got a chance to experience some of the more tedious and time consuming things in TBC to get a chance for a little while before everything becomes obsolete anyway.

I think what you see are two things:

1.) "Casual" players are a HUGE percentage of the player base. A very, very, very small percentage of accounts has ever stepped foot in Black Temple, for example. For a lot of people 10-man raids are all they have the guild size for (and a lot of that is by design-- my guild for example likes to stay small). Blizzard provides high-end raid content for people who want that, high-end PvP/Arena content for people who want that, and badge rewards for people who want to consistently farm badges in smaller groups and still get reasonably good gear.

2.) I think these requirements are dropping so that more of the player base can get geared in anticipation for the WotLK expansion. Level 71 content can then be designed for people who have blues and some purples instead of greens/blues. Burning Crusade suffered from many "hardcore raiders" not needing to upgrade their gear for 5-6 levels and the early L61+ instances were just a cakewalk for them. That content was designed around the assumption that L60 players were (on average) geared a certain way. So yes, I think that they are evening the gear-level for most folks, but the hope is that WotLK content will be something that won't be way too hard for non-raiders and way too easy for folks in T5/6 raid gear.

The new, blue PvP gear from Reputation is just a great way for people to enjoy PvP without having to painfully slog it out for several weeks/months (again, think casual player) to get enough resilience/HP to be anything other than a speed bump for a S3 geared player. As a multiboxer with some reasonably fresh L70s, I am looking forward to the items so I can have more than 25 Resilience.
    Cranky old-timer.

Did people forget the patches before TBC? Everybody suddenly able to buy HWL gear provided they had honour and marks?

I know some people IRL that are quitting basically because of this coming out. They think that "It's bullshit there basically handing out pvp gear to ppl now, make them EARN it like WE had to!"

I for one am happy as hell they bringing this out! :D
Tell the people you know IRL that I think they're stupid hypocritical fucksmudges ;D "EARN IT LIKE WE HAD TO BY BUYING ARENAS TEAMS OR SIMPLY DUELING EVERY DAY LIKE WE DID OUTSIDE IF ANYWAYS BEFORE ARENAS!"...riiiight like cave campers "earned" their gear by "spending time" or like ANY arena gearer "earned" their gear by, again, dueling in known odds just like they've done for years outside IF/Orgrimmar. You only "earn" gear by cooperating to down a common goal, not by dueling 10 times a week and not ever having to worry about repairs pots reagents or other people.

L2play n00bs! Gear don't mean shit if the player behind it is good...if you need the gear, YOU SUCK. End of story. I will DESTROY you in a relatively fair fight with my raiding gear vs your pvp gear ;p Unless you're a really smart stunlocking rogue, anyways...fucking unable to act till dead bullshit...grumble grumble lolz

But yeah, people in general are stupid. They overreact to and bitch about everything they can and not even bother to think it through, just like they bitch about us and call us bots or char-sellers. This pvp-whiney-bitch and anti-attunement-removal crowd is no different and just as stupid. Once the content's been fully downed and out for awhile, fuck attunements, let everyone see what blizz spent months and months developing instead of letting it rot to 1% of 10million players like Naxxramas did. Ony-style attunements though I say leave in as it's heavily intertwined with storyline; uncovering Ony herself among other things. Plus it's an ITEM that allows entrance, not simply "NPC: POOF UR ATTUNED AND HAVE NO PHYSICAL PROOF LOLOLOL" like MC/BWL/SSC/TK/BT/MH.

Keep in mind you wont be matched agains Season 3 geared players with 300+ resiliance in the 1500 bracket anymore... not unless they REALLY suck at least.

Speaking as a raider in BT/MH, I think Blizzard's strategy is fine.

Casual players aren't farming heroics or Kara 24x7. That's why they're called casual. They get maybe a few badges a week. It will take them weeks/months to save up 100-150 for a single piece of new badge loot. And as far as getting 'all BT gemmed out'; I kinda doubt people will be throwing away a week's worth of badges on +3 more damage. So honestly, this change helps hardcore players more than casual players.

The real raiders will be in Sunwell, or at the end of BT/MH still, which the 'casuals' still do not have access to. Do you really care whether Magtheridon is easier? We stopped doing Mag something like half a year ago. I've been there only once since then, in a PUG. I couldn't care less that he's becoming easier. I think it's great that more people get to experience fun encounters.

If they were giving out casual Warglaives, then I could see your point, but otherwise no.

Yeah that's my stance on gems in general...50g is NOT worth +2dmg...that's why I have green gems in my off-sets and alts and had green gems in some of my raid gear till I went apeshit and super-gemmed/enchanted everything spending 400g and ending up #1 DPS on Lurker because of it awhile back lol; BT gems don't interest me at all even though there's a bunch of BT guilds selling them on mag; not worth the gold, I have better things to spend on.

The flaw with the attunement-whiners' arguments is "Oh you're giving them free shit", no, they're not. Casuals will NOT just "walk into BT and get epics", they STILL have to learn to cooperate as a raid, and act and react to boss skills. As I've said before, you can have all the gear you want, but if you're too damn stupid to use it you're not gonna get anywhere in pvp or pve. It ain't MC where you can fuck around and afk at random and still win anymore :p

S'all good, yo, quitcher bitchin ;) Not directed AT anyone, just at the whining on forums I've seen in general
