I wouldn't use mouse passing for targetting NPCs/picking up quests. For things like that, you want to set up Click to Move and Interact with Target. See the bottom of this post and into the next one. Using mouse passing means the slaves need to have the same view as the master. If their point of view is slightly off or obstructed, your mouse will pass to the wrong location.
I would also use Jamba for the actual quest NPC interaction so you don't have to pass your mouse to select every individual quest. Jamba automatically mirrors whatever you select on your master to your slaves. My Jamba guide is mostly up to date. The only thing that's actually changed from when I wrote the guide is the re-addition of the Jamba-Target section, which has documentation here.
