Thread: Gcp

  1. #1

    Default Gcp

    I am somewhat new to multiboxing. I have only been doing it for about three months. I really like using this software. But I dont see anything about it on these forums. Is it bad software and I should get ISboxer like everyone else (I tried it and didnt like that you cant remap the controller keys). Any ideas?

    Which controller keys are you trying to remap? Isboxer will work with any input device that has hardware level control. Lax has a utility for mapping out new devices if yours isn't supported. I submitted the hardware map for the X-Keys 64 usb model, for example.

    As for GCP, I don't recognize the name. Could you expand the acronym for me please.

    It's been around for a while now, pretty good. Disclaimer: I use ISBoxer.

    Oh, I remember that software. The developer came on here and introduced it to the community. Looked pretty good too. Haven't heard much from him since then. That was over 2 years ago wasn't it.

    Well, all software is open for discussion. Ask away OP.

    I guess my main question is what sets isboxer above the others out there. I Imagine my setup would work with it. I like gcp for the window sizing and the fact that it recognizes num pad entries since I use a razer naga.

    I'm guessing this question might answer itself if you apply for a 7-day free trial.

    The documentation for Game Commander Pro was quite extensive.
    But I've never used it, so cannot comment on how well it works.

    I believe it has a free trial, like most of the non-free boxing software tools.
    I know IS Boxer has a free trial too.
    And HKN is a completely free program, if you're willing to go with the default script and modify it based on tutorials on the site or community support.

    Sample a few programs and see what works for you.

    I know Keyclone and IS Boxer give good support.
    For KC, you need to go onto his site and phone him (PH # is listed on his site).
    IS Boxer has good forum support here and its own site, plus IRC support on its site too.

    Some programs to check out:

    IS Boxer = www.isboxer.com
    HKN = www.hotkeynet.com
    GCP = www.gamecommanderpro.com
    Keyclone = www.solidice.com/keyclone
    AHK = www.autohotkey.com
    Pwnboxer = www.pwnboxer.com
    Not sure on the URL for Octopus.

    Any boxing software with a trial is a good candidate to try yourself.
    There's a reason IS Boxer is so popular amongst boxers...

    Thanks for the feed back I'll give it a free trial and see if I like it better than GCP.
