I guess we all had bad experiences in pugs, I once had a paladin that refused to use mana. And I don't mean to off heal when he was ret I mean plain and simple no skills used ever

A couple of months later I tanked one of the new dungeons on my 80 tauren druid, with my guild's new 80-something goblin alts, expecting it to be tough thanks to the swipe nerf. No CC was needed anywhere anymore. No-one died. I didn't have a clue what I was supposed to be doing, and wasn't keeping aggro, but my guild know how to play, and could solo the mobs they'd pulled. Even the healer.

GG Bliz. Nice nerfs. The retarded developer for retarded players.
Well, arguably, people liked it the way it was in WotLK judging by the accelerated loss of account subs. So A) people liked it that way and B) Blizzard trained people to do it that way, so it's no surprise that people were surprised when Cata dungeons didn't react well to the same style of play. If they'd roll back the 4.0 talent homogenization in addition to the other recent changes (read: nerfs), I might actually re-sub.

But it really, really irks me when a tank pulls when I'm out of mana after a long fight and then is surprised when he dies. I said oom in party chat. Of course he quits group, right at the last boss. FFS, can't anyone pay attention to mana bars anymore?

Or is it the case, that despite me being able to keep everyone alive, other healers at level have oodles of mana. Bah.

There are only two things I feel compelled to write here.

Jafula, dude, you got a craptacular tank. Unfortunately, (and I know this is like preaching to the choir), we all know that you're playing Russian roulette when you PUG. Very good experienced players know how to tank, watch for key triggers, dps and know how to drop aggro, or stop dpsing to save a tank or healer or CC if needed, and healers who know how to manage mana effectively and generally keep themselves out of trouble for the tank AND dps. Those good players are few...

which seugways into the few. I have seen, and continue to see, from my experiences from beta wow, to today, a multiboxer has the standard understanding and skills to do what is needed to accomplish a task, and ignore the noobish tactics of , as an example "being top dpser". I have stated and continue to maintain through so many examples, how Blizz's cater to its client base shows us, the more than average player is a complete bafoon. They are there for themselves, focused on the instant gratification of their own toon, and worried solely about what they are doing and how they top a chart, or pull fast, or generally blow shit up.

I do find myself on occasion to have to level a toon solo to keep up with a particular team. Its almost unavoidable.

When I heal solo, I warn the team early on. "if Im 30% mana or more, please pull, if not, you risk your own toons death."
If I get kicked. fine. it was a group I neednt be in, in the first place.
If I stay and they do it anyway, I continue to drink as each one of them perish. "Inc rez."

Ive had to adapt my play style some, to play in the "all for me" game. Especially in PUGs.

Greedy Goblin has a good post today titled 'The fact of the bad group'.

Quoting: "With 2 hard mode kills I'm a fairly good WoW player, up in the top 5%. Your chance to bump into me at a random Zandalari heroic is exactly 0 as I never go with a non full guild team (actually I don't go at all). On the other hand the worst players are rejected from every teams, so they are overrepresented in random groups where they cannot be booted instantly after their first stunt."

There is a lot of truth in that statement, many good players avoid using the lfd tool and run with premade groups.

Welcome to my world. Attitude's like your tank's are predominant in PUGs. Most don't have any patience or pay attention. Give me back the good old days where you had to spam trade chat to get a group, then travel 20 mins to the instance portal. That taught people patience. It was also ridiculously annoying, but at least people didn't drop group at the first wipe.

Oh my goodness... This person auto-attacked everything? That's even worse experience than what a normal PUG would provide. That's a poor raider's worst nightmare. NOOB's auto attacking in a boss fight! My Condolences.

The thing that bothers me the most about these encounters with utter retards is that these people are real. They live somewhere in the world, go to work, drive their cars, etc. How do they even accomplish those tasks if they can't follow simple instructions in a video game? It astonishes me at how stupid people are in WoW, I really wonder how they function in real life without professional help or mental support.

Consider that some folks have a very hard time with situational awareness. Others have a cognitive block in understanding the concept of a virtual avatar. The same folks who suck at video games would also probably make terrible aircraft pilots. My mother can't think in cardinal directions to save her life, yet we got along fairly well.

Point being, there are other considerations.

A famous quote I once read:

"Every guild has good and bad players, and every guild has awful scrubs that you'd think couldn’t exit their room in the morning because operating a door handle might be too challenging for them"

/shudder - I really hated those good old days. I remember spamming trade chat and traveling to the instance portal, it took ages to get to SM, running through Hillsbrad, Alterac, Silverpine and Tirisfal...

Actually had to run there recently with my 5 shammys since they can't use the dungeon finder; this time going through Western Plaguelands; was kind of nostalgic, but still a PITA!
