Default Best way to get Characters moving in Sync?

First splash into Multi-boxing, just stuffing around with 5 mages and all is going okay except that movement is a bit off, and sometimes the other 4 just get slightly off track.

I'm using AutoHotkeys to control all the movement in the windows and for test purposes i have them all getting the same commands, EG I press W on one it goes W on all etc.

Any advice would be greatly appriciated! Thanks!

This is *probably* the most asked question on the forums.

Basically you have to block the movement of that key on Key Clone.

Hi Thanassos and welcome to the forums!

if you are interested in getting your characters to move in sync, you have to understand how they move first. basically, consider each character as a boat on a pond... each pointing in a direction. you could try to face them all in the same direction... and they probably look pretty good... BUT.. character A has a 'heading' of 42.37 degrees... while character B has a 'heading' of 42.01 degrees. pretty close, but not close enough. if you ran them straight... over a short distance their paths will start to become more and more obviously different until they are nowhere near each other. and the problem only compounds itself once you start turning and backing up.

to resolve this, blizzard would have to give us a 'face due north' macro command.. this would set all your characters on a heading of 0.00 (or whatever)... and from there, they would be in sync.

until then, /follow is your only real option for long hauls

With that said (auto follow is the only way to go) the problem for me in PVP is, if my oponent moves around I turn my main with him but my alt does not turn, this wil stop my alt from casting because it is not facing the target If I manualy turn the alt it looses /follow. Is there a keystroke to face your target or some type of remedy?

You will learn to not just turn your main character but to turn and move slightly so that the target is within the forward-180-degrees arc that constitutes casting line-of-sight. There is a learned art/skill to this, much like getting your team through a narrow doorway or a tight passage.

You can probably apply for a commercial driver's license and drive tractor/trailer rigs when you're done, though!

    Thanks!

From 5 years of boxing on EQ i have the doors and stairs thing down, but in EQ you dont need to face a target to cast or heal. I will have to prctice some moves tonght. I wasnt sure if there was a command for it or not.

with alts on follow, they will ALWAYS be facing your main. just run your main backwards 2 feet until you are through the alts and they will turn around to whatever you are facing.

you could also learn to mouse drive the long hauls.. thereby leaving WASD open to use in pvp.

at which point, as your main spins to face the target, so do your alts
