Default [WOW] - Instance power grinding with lvl 70

I'm looking for calculations and proven information to tell me what the best level makeup is to power grind an alt.

    For example.

    5 slots

    1. Your grinder, lvl 70

    2. Your alt, lvl X

    3. filler, lvl X +/- A

    4. filler, lvl X +/- B

    5. filler, lvl X +/- C

What A,B,C makes the most XP for your alt? I've confirmed that your alt has to be higher than everyone but your grinder, but how much higher?

Note: I have also confirmed, you get more xp for a 5-man group with the 3 fillers lower than your alt, then you do with a 4-man group with 2 fillers lower than your alt.

    Thanks for your help!

    I already checked there,

It does not give you any information on grouped xp bonuses, with multi-level difference groups. It only shows 2 man groups, which does not get group bonus. This doesn't help me

I'd say your best bet would be to test things out a bit, I'm currently also researching into it as at the moment the 5 box is a bit out of the question, so I'll start 3 boxing (still need to pick up 3rd account though, gosh I'm lazy).

I have a lvl 70 Feral Druid, and from what I've read so far, 2 boxing instances with a lvl 70 sucks xp-wise.

Once I get my third account up and running I'll try and run some tests and come back here with more info.

70 druid + lowbie druid in stocks = poop exp
    70 Druid + 34 druid + 19 druid in stocks = poopier exp
    70 druid + 2 mid-30 druids in SM = awesome exp

My tests have concluded that not only having more lowbies raises exp, but the closer you are to the correct level of the instance/mobs, the better the exp will be; at 15-18ish in stocks I got shit exp and it's a 25ish instance; around 22-25 it skyrocketed. At 36-38 SM gave great exp too

Yeah the lowbies vs. elite level is a huge factor.

At level 20-38, you will get about the same percentage of a level per SM:Cathedral run, but from 38-40 it tapers off dramatically. I still ran L70+3 Newbies through Cathedral until L40, but that's because they were still in cloth/leather and I had accumulated full sets of Scarlet Mail for them to wear when they hit L40 and could train it.

Definitely switch to questing L40+, in my opinion. More fun and still very efficient use of time...

I gave up researching optimum exp for lowbies.
By the time I figure out what's optimum, I could have earned 2 levels AoE grinding.

    What's optimum is:
    Quest without P-level until 10.
Share RFC quests, and Boost with a 70 in RFC.
Grind until 13.5, and port the lowbies to TB, and UC to turn in the shared RFC quest.

Run to SFK and Boost grind from 14 to 20.
Run to SM and Boost grind from 20 to 40; Cathedral and Armory only within 12.5 minutes. Skip Armory if you are clearing Cath at 12 minutes.

At 40, Summon to Uldaman, and Bind in Kargath.
Boost grind 40 to 55 in BRD, doing some instance quest.

55-58 can be done in BRD, or do WPL until Argent Dawn Friendly, and turn in the EPL Lights Hope Chapel quests (Bone chips, Dark iron scraps, etc).

Or 55-60 Grind some Ramparts/Blood Furnace. Great factions before doing any Hellfire Quests.

I'll modify this slightly to what I did.

    Level solo from 1-20.

    20-42 SM

create groups as soon as you can that have all fillers(5 man) and they all have tobe at least 1 level lower(I can't prove a specific level, but they MUST be lower)

    42-46 ZF

Again create groups that have guys lower level than you.

I have yet to get past this. My pally is 47 and I'm exploring Sunken Temple currently....

The grind through SM for 20-42 was actually fast. The reasoning is simply because you just RECK it. I'm a sword spec'ed combat rogue.... I destroy each wing in under 15 mins.... I only ran lib/arm/cath

After the xp started slowing down, I found a thread on the wow forums that said to go to ZF from 42-46, and I"v done that.... now I'm exploring other options, haven't figured outwhere to go next.

I suggest Maraudon for late 40s; though I dunno if it's still that hot post-2.3 nerfs to instance lvls; others have said they started BRD in their 40s too, so give BRD a shot, it was early-mid 50s pre-2.3, it might be 50ish now
