    Default Chat Addon request/suggestion

    Hi everyone.

I'm not much of an addon coder myself (Just don't have the patience to learn) so here is a request for an addon that would make my life a bit more fun, and hopefully someone elses too.

I like to put on shows for people, and people on my server, Nagrand EU generally loves my little shows.

I used to use the /in function and write long chat macros that made my 5 toons talk to eachother, argue or whatever, but lately the /in function has been broken for me, and so I was thinking maybe someone could make an addon for it instead, or if not, maybe tip me on something I can do instead.

    Addon idea:

Simple UI with boxes where you can put in chat lines, and for instance the time it will take before that specific line is activated.
This UI could have say 10 boxes you type your chats into, with an acceptable character limit.
A button that allows you to save that chat with a specific name (For instance "Druid1")
A slash command to start a specific chat (For instance /multichat Druid1)

This could be useful both for people like me, who like to put on little shows, or for RP'ers who just want to appear a bit odd, talking to themselves saying the same thing over and over again etc.. :P

My old macros were long and annoying to make, but I always had fun seeing the reaction of people when 5 female nelfs started arguing because one of them wants to fix her hair before she goes into battle, or 5 male taurens have a discussion if the actual grass IS greener on the other end of Mulgore.

As I said, I don't know much about addon writing, but something tells me this could be real easy to pull off, if it isn't, I don't mind writing my macros if someone can point me to an ingame function, addon library (like ACE) or something else that will make the /in function work again. (Or replace it with something else)

With cheers and cataclysmic christmas greetings

While chat is seemingly innocuous, the adding of delays is the GM definition of automation.
I don't see someone getting into trouble over delaying character speech.
But it is still a delayed action.

Possibly going with a script, by which I mean series of /say commands.
Each triggered by a hotkey, or clicking of a box/icon.
And configuration options, so you can tell which click should belong to which toon.

    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

I figure it would be ok, you can do it from within the game system as an addon, like follow strobing which uses delays.

The only reason Blizz would ban the addon would be for spamming and they would more than likely ban the user than the addon (IMHO, not fact).

Way back when I first wrote Jamba, I made module called "Jamba-Crazy" where you chose a mood for your toon and the mod would /emote or /say on your character every so often an appropriate emote/say, for the mood you set for your toon. I never released it for the fear of complaints from abuse.

Anyways, I could write something for you, but I need to get some Jamba bugs fixed first and as usual life is real busy, so I don't want to promise anything.
