Lava Burst hits for 12-16K depending spec; thats 7-10K with resilience on the target, so 28-40K damage. What kind of targets are you shooting at that you can never ever kill anyone with that?

Oh I think what BrothelMeister means (12-16k) is at level 80.
At level 85 lava burst crits for 25-30k. 4 lava burst might still kill.
