@5 Boomkin Teams in US-Bloodlust

I've actually been wondering if 5x boomkin might be viable in cataclysm. Imagine popping starfall, then solarbeaming a huge area around their entire team.

I think it's going to be insane. Their ranged root is now AE for 8 yards from the target. You're going to be able to AE Root/Solar Beam/3x Nuke in a rotation. Solar Beam incapacitates for 3 second too. Plus each one has a ranged knock down. Plus Typhoon.

If they could heal in Boomkin I think they'd be better than Shamans.

i doubt they'll be viable, aoe got nerfed beyond recognition. I mean BEYOND recognition. it's just about laughable the amount of damage aoe does per person now.

Who said anything about AE?

Their ROOT is now AE. Add in the knockdown spell plus the 3 second incapacitate and it really does look like Boomkin will be able to completely disable while killing. Sure in 5's it may not work out but it sure as heck will in BG's.

Starsurge no longer knocks down. I think it's compensation for the AE root and the fact it can proc and be instant-cast now.

ROFL! I wondered if that was you but I didn't catch your names fast enough to armory. Yeah, I think DK/4 rets is something a druid / disc just can't heal through. And yeah, I'll make you work for a kill on me :_D We've seen Xiopathe a few times, he/she's the best 5x boomkin we've faced. I think what happens is stealth -> starfall -> Shadowmeld. The one time they killed us last night we pretty much all died instantly cause he got the jump on us.

Just for info: If you macro

/cast Starfall
/cast Shadowmeld

and use it while being cat-stealthed, the opponent won't see you. I tested this a while ago. I dueled some people and they knew exactly where I'm standing - pushed this macro and no one saw me as it seems.

My suggestion is for the opener: 4x Boomkin in one spot in reach of the enemies and 1x Boomkin somewhere else. The solo-Boomkin in stamina/resilience pumped equip and going into Moonkin-Form before starfalling (intentionally, that the opponents can see you). This should bring a sweet surprise when the starfall still seemingly goes through the cc thrown at the solo-boomkin and does insane damage.
