adding more features i'm afraid will make this even slower (as more requests are sent through the jamba channel)

For example, sometimes i click my jamba follow macro on the main, and i see the status bars of my slaves go green/red a number of times before stayingon on solid green.

What i'm trying to ask I guess, is whether adding this feature is going to be very spammy in the jamba channel, how i can improve the speed of said channel, and whether there is maybe a message priority in the channel (like "hp status requests" > "follow requests" > "trade requests' or something)

You programmer types that over analyze everything! Geez.

Jamba-Trade only sends stuff on the addon channel when you trade. There is no background chatter at all. If you watch the video, you'll see a delay from when the trade window opens until the Jamba-Trade window opens. That delay is the wait while the inventory is being pushed on the addon channel. So, no, not spammy at all.

Also 0.7 includes a few speed boosts, 1) group up and your settings / follow status will go a lot faster, 2) the ChatThrottleLib settings have been tweaked to allow a lot more traffic through, your alts need to drop to 10fps before it halves the throughput.
