Free Authenticators for Guildies!
All,
Given that there have been so many hacks of non-auth'd accounts lately, I thought I'd remove the price barrier for anyone in guild that wanted one. I know some people don't want to deal with the extra time at login, but I know that Svper and Fur don't want to have to deal with the gkick and the ticket when you get hacked.
So here is the deal:
1. Go to the Blizzard Store and get a USA Authenticator, or a Third World Authenticator. Check out and pay for it.
2. Add your new shiny keychain to your Battle.net account that your characters in <LoB> are on.
3. Send me a PM with your PayPal address.
4. Do a happy dance when you get $7.50 from me for covering your own ass!
It's really simple and there is no reason not to do it. The whole thing stays between us and no one has to know your shame unless you want to brag about how you took me for some money
To head off any questions, I've written my own FAQ from the posts I've received in my own head.
Q: I already have an auth, can I get money anyway?
A: No.
Q: How will you know?
A: I will know, trust me. And if I don't, more power to you.
Q: Why do I have to order it and pay for it first?
A: Since there is a serial number on the back of the authenticator, and they limit the number you can buy, I don't want to ever see yours. From a security standpoint, you should protect the key fob better than your virginity. If you really can't afford to order one without the money first, PM me and we can work something out.
Q: Aren't they $6.50? Why are you sending $7.50?
A: Cause I'm not sure if there are taxes on them in California and other parts of the world. Also, I think PayPal might take a cut. If it turns out to be more than $7.50, get a hold of me and we can work something out.
Q: Aren't the mobile ones free? Can I get money for them?
A: You might have just found an exploit. Personally, I don't have a problem paying for a mobile auth as long as you are using it. If $7.50 is what it takes to get you safe, then I'm fine with that.
Q: Is it true you accidently pulled Doomlord Kazzak with your imp in a raid during BC?
A: Shut up! How'd you find out about that?!? No comment.

A: Why not?
Q: How long does this great deal last?
A: Initially I'm thinking through the month of June, though if there are gaggles of people I might have to limit things. If I do stop this or limit things, I will edit this thread. If you want to reserve a place in line, you can PM me.
