Second, I think you should really consider the time spent organizing/crafting/listing/processing all your mats outside of the heroic running time. Obviously this depends on how much "batching" you do before you go through a cycle, but if you assume a 20-heroic run, add back in the time it takes to manage the "back end" of this process before you compute a true gold/hr figure. It'll still be good, but it DOES take time to do this whole workflow.
I can make 1-2,000g a night from my flask business on an alt alchemist, and it's a character that doesn't travel or gather on his own at all. I buy all mats right at the AH and sell flasks right there. It's easy to say, "I just log in, buy mats, craft flasks, then list them and log off", but that whole process might take much longer than the uninitiated might guess. What seems like a quick 5min drill can actually be much longer. Flasks are crafted quickly, but if you've ever tried to empty a mailbox full of 3-400 items, you know how long that can take (even with a good addon).
I also think it might be useful to share with folks if you have bank/crafting on your "mains" team or if that duty is farmed off to banker/crafter characters. My guildies were shocked to learn just how much working space and $$ can be tied up in raw mats if you really get into the AH/crafting game. I have a tailor with a bank and guildbank full of Netherweave Bolts.... my flask character carries 15,000g worth of Frost Lotus alone on him at any given time. One of the advantages of heroic mat farming like this is that you shouldn't have to carry oodles of inventory, but it might be helpful to tell people, "yeah, I watch the titansteel bar market and pounce on a low price situation, spending 5000g if necessary when a deal comes along".
All in all, a great start. It was especially revealing to me, since I know some of the mechanics but just haven't really approached the Heroic running as a business in the same way as my Flask+Netherweave Bag business. It's probably because I'm still actively using honor/badges at times, but I probably do have 140-150 triumph badges on 5 characters that I could convert to cash sooner rather than later...
Thanks, Shodokan
