Default Epic Daily Random Dungeon Fail

The background: my DK+Pally team is now in Northrend. DK is 71, Pallies are 72, 70, 70.

I just stepped foot into UK to try to knock out some of the quests there and see what my newbie team was capable of two nights ago. I've been playing the team more lately in the evenings when I'm on baby-watch, since it's nice to be able to stop everything and deal with a diaper/bottle and not piss off any groupmates/raid.

Without really intending to, I successfully cleared the instance last night with zero wipes. (I came in to kill the first boss for a quest and decided I would just keep grinding through until I wiped, which didn't happen.).

Now that the stage is set, here was my little drama last night:

Decide to get an easy 2 Triumph badges and queue up the random dungeon.

    Get UK as dungeon! (Score!)

    Knock out first boss.

    Knock out second boss.

Wipe to random group that had 3 runecasters in it that all cast flame shield thingie.

Make mental note to add focus/repentence/CC macros at some point to help deal with crazy AoE adds.

Get to last boss, start buff.

    Baby cries. Listen to monitor...

    Coast looks clear, start fight.

Baby cries. For real this time. Let group wipe.

Baby stops crying as last pally dies.

Start the run back, realize that I can speed up travel by putting DK into Unholy Presence.

Get to boss, buff up, start fight, position pallies perfectly behind Ingvar.

(Forgot that I didn't switch back to Frost Presence)

L72 Pally out-threats tank, still in Unholy. Ingvar aggros and does a 180.

Ingvar casts Smash, killing 3 of 4 pallies. Group wipes.

Baby cries again, leave team at graveyard in order to go check on him.

    Instance resets.

    Zone in... *smackhead*

    Log.

It was just one of those nights.

    Loving the team, though.
    Cranky old-timer.

Yeah every now and then I have one of those nights. I just wipe on stupid stuff, all my macros seem to break and I want to smash my computer and quit the game. Thats when I know I've been playing too much WoW.

I have other nights where I can do no wrong, my slaves all do 6k+ DPS on bosses and I smash everything I touch seamlessly and easily.

I really do think that whether you feel it or not, multiboxing is very tiring and draining. You are concentrating on so much more - I think things like /click macros have helped take some of that strain off but still you are worrying about 5 characters not just 1.

And having kids is the reason I came back to multiboxing - I can AFK at any point of an instance for however long I want. I have afk'd in things like Halls Of Lightning or Pit of Saron for like an hour as I keep needing to do other things.

DK + Rets seems really fun - I wish I had it in me to level another team - perhaps for Cataclysm I will do this? Not sure.

At least you have your priorities correct.

The game will progress along, a little here and a little there.
I love that with boxing, you can afk as much as necessary, and no one else is like WTF is he doing?

I had the same night last night. Got FoS as the random dungeon, thought cool, I can do that, got to the first group of casters and for some reason my healer did not stop following me, wiped. Rezzed with my pally, came back in started rezzing the group, accidently pulled aggro with team at half health, wiped, rinse repeat 2 more really stupid mistakes, ported out of the dungeon lol, 160g later in repairs lol.
Waited for a while as I got some heirloom gear for the new team I am gonna level. Was about to go to bed as it was getting late but just tried one last time to see what random I would get, got UK, HORRAYY!! , 30 minutes later I had my badges and logged.
Some nights just do not work out lol.
I do agree that multiboxing makes WoW played on my time and not on a groups, this was something that used to piss off my wife when I did dungeons with groups, RL tended to take a back seat too much, with MBing I can play on my timetable and now even run with my wife in dungeons (she hates the stress of PuGs)
    Yay for multiboxing

i have to admit finding time log in at all is a heroic achievement in itself so kudos for you having time to play. We're struggling to get baby to sleep nights and she sleeps all day. maybe i need a heroic dummy...

This is me in 5 weeks from now
I'm gonna get myself a real life toon to manage - a boy. Can't wait.

Nice read and thanks for sharing.

I had a night like this last night. I had two hours of playingtime last night, did a random dungeon and got Drak whatever. I though YES, as I cleared this instance last sunday with no big hickups.

Dies on a trash pull. Apparently came to close to the troll with half mana and pulled aggro on him. Killed him anyway in the first shot (thanks innervate). The I hit the summoner.
Did really well in the trash/elites. But when the shield around the boss goes down, I still have some trash left. The boss starts hammering away, I try to taunt but he keeps attacking my dps.

I think I wiped 6-7 times on him. The last time I had the full team and only one or two trash on my dps. I killed the trash and started tanking the boss.... He just wiped the floor with my guys. That blizzard is so annoying.

My toons is almost dead as soon as he casts this. I need to practise a bit on this fight. The time I downed him in the second or third try on Sunday, my toons only got hit once with the blizzard.
I also had a lot of lag on the server..... don't know if that got anything to do with my toons dying so fast.
