Default Outlands at 58 or wait?

Well my 4 shaman are now 58 with the exception of 1 which is a level behind and I am not sure if I want to try and wait or hit outlands now. I am just a bit worried about being out of quests before 70 if I don't instance much. Anyone have any suggestions?

You should be fine if you go to outlands now.

I went there on my shamans at 58 and had 2 entire areas of quest left when i hit 70.

I'd say wait until that one laggard is to 58 so that he can actually pick up the quests in Hellfire Peninsula with the rest of your characters.

Yeah, level him solo for a few hours, ding 58, and jump through the dark portal

I waited until 60 for these reasons:

Everyone I know who went at 58 couldn't hit 62 before Zangarmarsh (prereq level for some quests)
There are plenty of non-collection 60-ish quests in Azeroth
There are plenty of 60 instances (need to level cooking? Go hang out in DM)
Nobody hangs out in Azeroth anymore - no worries of gankage (which is TYPICAL in hellfire peninsula on my server)
Hellfire Ramparts is ROUGH even with hellfire gear at 61-62. (I'm thinking Nazan here). If you run out of quests before Zangarmarsh, you'd either have to suck it up and farm Ramps, or see if you can do BF depending on your level/gear.

I'd recommend you go do as much of hellfire as possible at 58 (minus ramparts), then when you're 59 and have upgraded most of your gear to outlands greens/blues, go back and finish up the quests in Azeroth.

Waste of time IMO, the azeroth zones were blaanced for the gear they had in them so it is certainly still doable until 60 and exp from quests/instances is far more precious post 60 due to the huge jump in exp/level requirements. It would be faster to stay in zeroth until 60 then jump right into the quests in hellfire. By the time you have completed all the quests in there you should be decently geared in outlands equip, getting close to lvl 62 and can then start into ramparts to finish it off. Stay there as long as you like then move onto zangar (or BF if you want)

I second the "Azeroth to 60 then hit outland" option; sure, people say they hit 70 without ever doing SMV or Netherstorm, but 58 is a bit low for hellfire's more advanced quests and it would be wasting good quest exp early on; go do the easy quests in silithus, gank that elite scorpion really quick, and do a few easy winterspring quests to maximize yer quest exp before you spend the "good" quests in outlands. If you really want the outlands gear grab some cheap pieces off the AH before heading out :p

If you spend a few hours in hellfire getting the first round of outlands greens, you'll be geared enough that you can breeze through strat/scholo, and the quests for those give you 15k each.

Depends on how much xp-for-cash you want saved up at the end, I guess.
