    Default Clarification needed

    Hello,

I've done abit of searching and found some answers that I was looking for but they all seem to be on old thread. So I am just after some clarfication incase the info is now wrong in those threads

I already have an account with a Level 70 as my old main and I want to start 3 more accounts so that I can quad box. But I am not too sure how to best go about getting the new accounts. Is it best to buy the WoW + TBC CD's seperatly or would a few Battlechests be better? I also saw on another thread someone created trials and upgraded them that way. My first thought was to go with the Battlechest but wondered if i would get the 1 or 2 months free game time.

Also a couple questions about RAF. I read the wiki about it but theres alot to it (it seems). Do I first link my current account (A) to one of the new ones (B), then (B) to the next new one (C) and then finally C to D? Then I can use my current level 70 to help level the new guys and they in return level a new toon with the gifting levels? Could D also send a RAF invite to A? (Confusing stuff....)

And finally. On the wiki it mentions that when one of the alt accounts subscribes from the trial the account that gave the RAF gets 1 month free. Does that mean in total the news account would get 3 free months? (1 from buying the WoW CD, 1 from TBC and 1 from RAF)

Thanks alot in advance if you could straighten this out for me

Some of the information is a bit jumbled, but still accurate.

I recommend buying battlechests. Worry about Wrath when you get close to that. I did one set of accounts with trial accounts and one with battlechests and I like battlechests better. The trouble with trial accounts is it can be difficult to upgrade from a trial, to full to TBC in one day because of the Blizzard's billing system. I had to wait a few days to get my accounts upgraded because I was playiing 4 Draenei.

As for RAF, since you have a level 70 on your main account I would not include it in the RAF. This way you can use your main account to boost and get full XP. If account A (your main account) refers account B then you won't get the RAF bonus. What I would recommend is Buying 3 battlechests and referring accounts C & D from account B.

Now, if you are just going to level 4 toons from scratch and not boost you would refer from your main accounts.

You would get 1 free month from each account you refer.

Ok, it looks like i will go with the Battlechests, they also appear to be the cheaper option

About RAF. In that case, would I then be able to grant my main account levels from one of the alt accounts? My level 70 isnt a class that I particularly want in my final 4 team. It would be good to be able to use him to boost though.

EDIT: Never mind about my above question. I re-read the wiki about RAF after you answered my first questions and got the answer I was looking for. Thanks again for the help!

    So my 2 cents is:

RAF is only for 1-60, and it goes pretty fast. I personally would roll 4 new toons and quest/instance them up to 60 and then boost from 60-80.

I would also make sure I linked my accounts in a chain like you describe in your first post:

"Do I first link my current account (A) to one of the new ones (B), then (B) to the next new one (C) and then finally C to D?"

    Yes, I would do this.

"Then I can use my current level 70 to help level the new guys and they in return level a new toon with the gifting levels?"

I would not use my current level 70, until after RAF had finished, I would level up 4 new toons to 60.

Then I could grant levels from D to a new character on C, C to a new character on B, B to a new character on A. You could RAF these new characters up to level 30 and then give them granted levels up to 60 from your just recently hit 60 toons.

    Good advice.
The end part is where it is definitely a good reason to link your main account, A-B-C-D D will give levels to A by granting up the chain as he said above. Also if you daisy chain it you have no concerns with boosting, B - C - D will always get the xtra xp because they are linked, you refer a-b for the free levels/xtra's.

I myself boosted to 60 since I didnt have to terribly much room to make new characters. Extremely fast with RAF either way you do it. Really depends on your likes.

That sounds good. I'm pretty sure now that I will link them all as you said now. Just need to get the accounts up and I'll be all set

    Thanks for the advice guys!

I would personally daisy chain the new accounts together.
If you're creating new toons on the original account as well, then include it in the link.
If you're not doing any new toons on the original account, I'd personally not include it.

If you include it, you get a Zhevra mount when an account directly linked to it pays for the 2nd month.
You will get a month free when the linked account pays for a month of wow.
You will get granted levels on this account for every two levels the linked account gains.
You can cascade granted levels, ie Account B gets 29 granted levels from Account C. Account A gets 14 granted levels from the levels Account B was granted.

If you don't include it, then you can use the existing high toon to boost your new account lowbies.
Because it is not linked, it can group with them and not deny them RAF bonus experience.
Any 70+ toon can destroy all of the old world 5-man instances.
If you're a tank with Consecrate, Swipe, Death & Decay, etc, you can pull half an instance.
I would boost Deadmines @10th, Stockades @20th, Scarlet Monastery @25th, Zul'Farrak @40th, Stratholme @48th, Ramparts @55th. Not exactly sure when to leave ZF for Strat. Quest to 10th.
With boosting, you can level 4 toons from 1st to 60th in a weekend very easily.
If you're not sure what you'd like your teams to be, you can easily have one of each class boosted per new account.

    Just for clarification:

    If you link:

    A->B->C->D

If A is level 70 and B is level 1, if they are all grouped.....

    B STILL GETS RAF EXPERIENCE

It gets it from its link with C

So daisy chain them. Not daisy chaining them is just silly. There is absolutely no downside to it.

This thread got confusing really fast, its like everything I knew just got changed e_O.

From my understandings, this is how RAF works with multiple accounts.

    Lets say you link your 4 accounts as such, A -> B -> C -> D.

Now, lets say you use a 70 on A to boost toons on your other accounts. It seems this is where everybody is contradicting each other. From my understandings ALL of your slaves ( toons on accounts B, C, and D) WILL get the RAF bonus when grouped with your 70. This may be a little confusing so try to bare with me.

This is what should happen with the RAF links. Account A is linked to account B. A is the level 70 used for boosting, B has a fresh level 1. B normally would NOT get RAF xp because the character on account A is not the same level.

BUT, because account B is linked to C, it will still gain RAF xp (assuming both characters on accounts B and C are of equal level and below 60). You character on account D will also get RAF xp because it is linked to C (assuming both characters are of equal level and below 60, as stated before).

Hope I haven't lost you. Basically, do as others have stated. Daisy-chain ALL your accounts together (A -> B -> C -> D). With this configuration your main account, A, will receive all the benefits of RAF (1 month free, zhevra mount, gifted levels, ect...) and you will still be able to boost your other accounts.

Oh, here is a link to a thread with some very helpful info on some other aspects of RAF.

    Hope this helps a little
