ok i feel dumb now lol. When you say disable i go into addons and hit disable jamba now if i log out and back on is jambadev supposed to show. Because its not coming up in my addons menu but its in the interface folder under addons. A little stumped here.
They say spiders have 8 legs well i guess im a rare and unimaginable specimen. Ive got 9 legs and my web comes from that 9th leg. HaHa.

why is both parrot and mikbattlescrollingtext used at the same time? are they not the same type of addons? Mik has a better wow factor for some things. What should be enabled and disabled for each of them?

They are not. If you have Parrot, you can send Jamba messages to Parrot. If you have MSBT, you can send Jamba messages to MSBT.

You can set up which one you use in the Core: Messages configuration pane.

    How do you "switch" teams
I just logout the guys I don't want playing and log in the guys I do want playing. I've added everyone on all teams to everyone's list, then I just do a /jamba setmaster <name> to make sure they all have the right leader.
This basically results in everyone showing up as offline except for the people on the same original teams.
So this means that the ones online are showing up as offline and the offline ones showing up as online?
Here's what I see. Let's say I have Don1, Don2, Don3, Don4, Don5 as paladins and Don6-Don10 as shamans. I'll logout Don6-Don9 and login Don1-Don4 (using 4 pallies from that team with my lead shaman). What happens is that none of the paladins show as online to the shaman but they all show online to the other Paladins. If I login 2 shams and 3 pallies, the two shams see each other as online, the 2 pallies see each other but the shams won't see the pallies and vice versa.
You should be able to add them all to the list and Jamba should ignore the ones that are offline.
I agree, though I've yet to be able to get this working successfully. Only the original 5 in each team show each other online.
Either way, everyone in the shammy team shows as offline to the guys in the pally team and vice versa, in spite of having them added to the list.
I'm assuming that the shammy team is online at the time; i.e. you have 10 toons online.
No, I just login 2 from one team and 3 from another. See above.
EDIT: Any feedback on the team list? Does the concept of all in on the team list work for you? I'm dual-boxing at the moment and won't be getting more accounts any time soon, so you are about the only one that's got any say in its future....
Yes, I like the concept and it works great, except for the part where only the original teams will "see" each other in the team list. I'll try again tonight and see if I can figure out anything else.

I know you have done this, but I'm asking anyway... Have you checked that all 10 toons are using the same channel? If the two teams are on different channels, they will not be able to see each other.

(If the WoW channels are all messed up you might need to clear out your chat channel information in WTF / Cache, or where-ever it is stored on disk.)

Yeah, that was what I checked the other night thinking I'd simply flubbed that config. That's when I discovered I could not change from the defaults (kept resetting it on me). I'll poke more when I get back from running a few errands and see if I can figure out how I changed the setting originally. I think that I had the pally and druid teams (which work fine) set to an alternate channel/password using 0.5dev original build and didn't use the shammies until 0.5update1 build. That may tell you something. I have both builds on my machine here and will verify if anything changed with regards to channel/password stuff later.

Sweet, thanks. I don't think anything changed re channels between 0 and 1. This weekend, I'll go over the online channel code and sanity check it and add in some controls so you specify when to change channels on each toon (the button discussed earlier). I think if I can fix the problem where you cannot change from the default then the rest of the stuff should hopefully sort itself out...

LOL! OK, just deleted all my settings LUA files and guess what? The UghJamba channel is still connected on all my druids. :P In fact, if I right-click the chat tab, go to Global Channels, I see both UghJamba and JambaTeamOnline channels in there.

Thanks for your two posts, they will help when I get to the code...

I use the wow api JoinPermanentChannel which is why the channels hang around and probably part of the problem. My bad.

*Edit* If you are up to hacking, try changing all instances of JoinPermanentChannel to JoinTemporaryChannel in the JambaCommunications.lua file. Characters leave temporary channels when they log out. (I assume I wrote it so that the code tries to join the channel when the character logs in.)
But, the JoinTemporaryChannel might or might not accept a password (two sources of conflicting documentation).

OK, just resetting things and going through the basic config process again. I changed the JoinPermanentChannel to JoinTemporaryChannel as you suggested.

    1. /jamba-team add <member1>, etc. to add all my druids to the team
    2. /jamba-team invite, worked OK after I let it "settle" a few seconds.
    3. Went into JambaDev-->Core: Communications settings.
    4. Changed channel to UghJamba, and pw to Ugh.
    5. Push Settings.
    6. ERROR: All 5 reset the UI to JambaTeamOnline and JambaPassword in the UI. JambaTeamOnline is the only one that shows up in the UI.
    7. Changed it back to UghJamba/Ugh and clicked OKAY to close the settings dialog.
    8. Went back into Interface-->Addons-->JambaDev-->Core: Communications, and it's reset back to JambaTeamOnline/JambaPassword again. All alts show offline. Checked global channels and no jamba channels are connected at all anymore.
    9. Did a /console reloadui and the default channel is connected (JambaTeamOnline/JambaPassword).

So with the JoinTemporaryChannel thing set up, it doesn't appear to be able to select a non-default channel at all anymore.
