Notifications for me are suboptimal versus a persistant ui element like a timer.

With all that goes on sometimes, its easy to miss a notification.

Could you have an option to make the notice persistant, possibly with a timer?

I use DoTimer on my mage solo and get that type of notice for missle barrage and love it.

The new Jamba uses "Message Areas". Currently areas are default chat, party, guild, parrot, mikscrollingbattletext and some others. (I can integrate with other addons if requested). I should be able to add an new area that displays a persistant message like you ask.

Having said that, I *think* that parrot and mikscrollingbattletext implement this functionality (persistant and timer) already, so you could just use one of those addons (turn off all the defaults and Jamba will still use the scroll area you select in Jamba's message area configuration).

Proculas was the mod I posted (I don't think anyone else has every used it for monitoring alt procs).

It seems a lot of mods that this community finds are slowly getting combined into Jamba. (StealYourCarbon, auto repair mods, auto sell junk mods, etc).

Keep jamba slim, don't bloat it up. Its going to get too hard to manage.
I agree. Jafula is already implementing so much that if something is possible with another addon then people should really try to use the alternative.

Jamba already solves so many of the multiboxing issues and I'd hate to have Jafula burn out on the project due to its ever increasing size.

    Jafula just modified it
Wow, way to minimize what was probably a ton of work and HIGHLY useful work to the community.

Not sure where you're going in this thread, Fur. If you are personally concerned about getting too "tied" to an addon, then turn off the features you'd rather outsource to another addon. I, for one, applaud Jafula's work and look forward to continued development. There are certain integration benefits here like simply disabling Jamba when soloing to turn "off" multi-boxing functionality when soloing.

    First,

I understand what Fur is trying to say (at least I THINK I understand...). His concern (and mine) is that Jamba will get so large and bulky that the average n00b won't even WANT to take the time to configure all of the options. It would be a shame for someone new to multi-boxing (like me) to pass up Jamba due to it's VAST configuration.

I don't want to have to spend 4 hours trying to configure an addon... I want to PLAY. I am not saying that I think Jamba is getting too large, or that I don't want THIS feature... just that this is what I am getting from Fur's posts. If I am wrong, I appologize.

With that said, I would like to request that there be an option to make this "proc-warning" a /rw just like a broken-follow and being attacked.

To address the request of something more obvious for broken follow, could you add a "full-screen-pulse" when these things happen (like pulling agro)? That would make it all but impossilbe to miss (asside from the /rw.... ROFL)

You can configure proc warnings to be raid warnings, see screenshot in post above.

I disagree with Fur's stance that Jamba is just repackaged work of others. It's not like Jafula is just putting in every mod under the sun, and his compilation and original work is one of the most useful multiboxing tools we have. For example, I don't know of any other addon that may allow us to keep all of our slaves in the same "party" while in a BG or in different raids (already implemented).

However, I also share Fur's fear that Jamba will become too large and too much of a project for Jafula to maintain.

So step in and provide an addon to alleviate the feature list that Jafula is working on addressing. The reality is the universe of multi-boxer addon developers is microscopic.

I'm missing the point here: If he's being asked for more functionality and is willing to add it into his addon and continues to do so in a pretty modular way, why would we tell him "Stop!"? Any Jamba user already runs the risk that he "burns out" and stops supporting the code. Its part and parcel to using any addon.
