Right because the wiki was here first before anyone ever contributed to the forums.
I'm not saying the forums didn't dicuss it, I'm just saying that the wiki is more easily read (THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!) and thus more accessible to folks starting out. So it's probably where most folks got their info from.
