Best Horde race for shamans???

I rolled 4 x Tauren Shaman on Saturday, quested them up to level 8, RFC to 15, WC to 20 and now grinding out SM Cath till 35 using my huntard. I believe the War Stomp is going to help a lot more in PvP because its always a bitch when you get some guy in the middle of your group slapping one of your toons about. As for Taurens being big and easy to spot as a target....thats what you want isnt it? Totem up the surrounding area and let them bring it on I should have got into this a long time ago, i used to do it in EQ but never thought it would work in WoW.

I still prefer Tauren females, they are smaller than the males and have the best synchronised dance!

All your horde racials are so much more OP for PvP compared to us poor alliance.

I get a hit aura racial that doesn't even stack, and a holy school HoT that's only useful for tempting out a kick from an over-zealous rogue (holy school ftw).

:whistling: I still think ORC racial are much better for pvp. I rolled 5 orc (males) In BGs they are smaller tragets than cows. they also fit into places a lot easyer than cows. following can be a pain with cows. Its hard to hide a cow. Anyways both races are great. I just prefer orcs. when a war or rogue start hitting you the orc racials are soo nice. Then again we all know that Orcs are the true Horde.

I think the orc racials (esp. blood fury) are nice in PvP/Arena. The only thing I might suggest is that a Tauren+Multi-Orcs might be nice for the "conceal your numbers" perspective.

I have 4 Orcs, mainly because my original shaman is an orc, but I don't regret it. Being compact/smallish on the battlefield is a nice bonus, plus it's like an extra 1000ish damage on your 4xEM+NS+Trinket+Racial+CL combo of doom!

Orc vs Tuaren is a tough choice. Personally, I can't stand the size of male tuarens and female tuarens make me want to gouge my eyes out.

I'll rolled 4x Male orc shamans but I'm wondering if it would be worth it to roll male tuaren despite my hatred of their size.

I haven't boxed with shamans in arena so this is all theory craft.

My take on Warstomp vs Blood Fury (taken mostly from solo play)

Blood Fury is great for that extra burst damage (+143 damage x 4) but with (EM + CL + NS) x 4 aren't you doing 12-14k damage to your target anyways? Especially when followed by 4 shocks. The healing debuff doesn't usually bother me in arenas (have a orc lock and hunter) because if I'm being focused, 90% of the time I'm going to have Mortal Strike, Aimed Shot or Flametounge debuff on me anyways. The 15% stun resist is nice but unreliable, my orc warlock still gets stun locked by skilled rogues.

Warstomp (2 sec aoe stun)
Only CC available to shamans in arena but they share diminishing returns now. This was incredible before they put a DR factor into active stuns. Have only used this with a resto / boomkin druid. Two seconds is a very long time in pvp and would give ample time to interrupt damage or heals or even get your shamans to face that annoying rogue behind you. Once diminishing returns comes into play, 3 warstomps in succession would equal a 3.5 seconds (2 sec, 1 sec, .5 sec stun). Would take some micromanagement to pull that off though.

Wondering if 2 orc / 2 tuaren would work out best ... but then it loses some of the dramatic effect of 4 boxing. ?(

Has anyone thought seriously about Trolls? I think they look better than Orcs, and I don't want to play Tauren because they would produce such a large target.

The haste racial on Troll seems good, and in BGs it seems like a mini heroism. do they stack with heroism/bloodlust??

I think 4x Raptors = win too.

I've got 4 trolls, love the emerald raptors. The haste racial is pretty good, I have it macro'd into my lightning bolt button to use it whenever it's up. It's not why I rolled Trolls, I did that for looks, but it's a decent perk.

So I went with 4 female (smaller profile) tauren for the 4x warstomp which has proved very useful so far in dealing with spastic rogues/wars I haven't run into a situation where i ran into diminishing returns issues there since they tend to explode as soon as i have them stuck in one spot for a moment. The extra hps from the STA racial are nice too when you're a fresh 70 and a bit squishy still but really not a make or break thing.

Cons: Not sure I really dig all the armor skins though which is a little sad.

Orcs all the way! The stun resist is oh so seksi, but the Blood Furry = PURE PWNAGE it increases your burst dmg by some astronomical number.

Think I'm going to reroll my orc shamans to tuaren (only 20 on stasis till work dies down). War Stomp seems to have so many more uses both defensive and offensive. I personally can't imagine myself trying to nuke someone who is constantly LOSing and kiting me while multi-boxing. It is hard enough doing this while controlling only 1 character but 5.
