    Default multitool problem. please help...

I am currently using 0.2.08 up from 0.2.06

when i first started using multitool, when i first saw it here, the auto accept quests, taxi ets worled great. for the last 2 versions I get it to work on the first use after login and never after that during session. I assume i am not setting something right but for the life of me can not figure out what. I dual box with two toons only. thanks in advance.

<edit> actually neither the quest stuff nor the taxi work after the first time

Using MultiTool and Jamba together could give you issues. Try one or the other and see if your problem resolves itself.

actuallyl i am not using them together. i have tried both and have different problems. i just want one of them to work. only u have tried to help so far so i have been working on setting up jamba. I have g otten no answer from multitool author. Jamba does the taxi/quest/follow stuff great for me but no melee as I have stated.

multitool, on the other hand, does none of those but allows me to melee. shrug. apparently i can't use either of them for different reasons.

Hiya, Sorry for the delayed response - things have been so quiet with MultiTool lately and things have been busy enough at work that I haven't been lurking so much.

Ok, so, stuff works at first, then stops?

I have been triple boxing with MultiTool working perfectly on taxis and quest dialogs for a while now, so I need to figure out how to replicate this problem. My best guess is that you're getting an error the first time you do whatever, and that's pretty much disabling MultiTool or that particular function from then on.

I bet if you did a /console reloadui, it would work again until you tried whatever it is that causes it.

Do you have any addons running that have an error catcher like !swatter or somesuch?

basically, I bet you that MultiTool is hitting an error and I need to know what the error message says.

Also, you're running v0.2.08. When you installed it, you completely removed the MultiTool directory from your addons folder and replaced it with the new, right? There was an issue that I never saw originally because it was a case where I was counting on a library being there that I had accidentally not included - worked fine for me because another addon I was running already had the lib, but when someone without any other addons would run it, they had a missing dependency.

Also, that reminds me, what other addons are you running?

Also also, While I am happy to help people using MultiTool where and when I find them, if you're trying to get hold of me on it, the best place may be the curse.com page for the app itself. I only happend on this post by accident cuz I was lurking during a slow moment at work.

I just had another thought too.

You mentioned that you thought you might not be setting something right, and that all was working fine until two versions ago.

    Try going into your

    c:\wow\WTF\Account\ACCOUNTNAME\

and look for MultiTool.lua and MultiTool.lua.bak

may have to dig into the SavedVariables directory to find it.

Delete the file from that directory. If you use character profiles, you may need to dig in to the /ToonName/SavedVariables directory to find them

Just delete all MultiTool.lua and MultiTool.lua.bak files in the WTF\Account\ directories (leaving the stuff in the /interface/addons directory alone)

it could be that there's some stale data in your config file from a previous version (I try to make it backwards compatible, but you never know.

IF this fixes it, PLEASE let me know.
