Default What classes are you leveling in Wrath?

I'm really torn on this... I'm really worried that a tank will be required in some instances. I remember trying to do the level 80 strat with 5 shamans and getting rocked in beta - but I only make a couple attempts.

Right now I'm thinking 1x pally, 1x boomkin, 3x shaman. Mostly because I know I can do instances this way.

I'd REALLY like to do 5 shamans or 4 shaman and my boomkin, but not having a tank might be tough....

On the plus side, a prot pally is a really good healer now, so worst case I can just make the pally my healer when I don't need a tank.

It's tough, but I think I am going with:

    Pally+4xHunters, with Holy, 3xBM, 1xMM
Pets will be 4xGorillas, or Worms if the Gorillas prove to be problematic. Gorilla AoE adds a lot of DPS to pulls, and hasn't been a problem for cross-aggro of unintended mobs yet.

Blessing of Might + Trueshot Aura on 8 party targets is a ton of buff synergy. Compared to the Priest+4xBM Hunter setup I ran to get them to L70, the above configuration has something like 4300 more AP across all the group. My early tests with Beacon of Light and a Glyphed Holy Light have shown that the Pally does a fine amount of healing with this setup. Pallies are arguably easier for boss fights, since they can just spam a powerful single-target heal on the tank if needed. Priest has been a good healer, arguably the strongest, but with the nerf incoming to Circle of Healing, I am willing to trade BoM and the superior pally buffs for the Fort and Heals of the Priest.

Long term, I will level my 4xShammies as well, almost certainly with a Boomkin in tow. They are better geared and less likely to get PvP while leveling. My decision to start with hunters is primarily so I can keep them in instances and avoid world PvP problems at launch. Plus, I have a lot of fun with them in instances, probably moreso than the shamans.
    Cranky old-timer.

I'll be going with my current team in sig.

I'm sure with the DK, I'll be forced to create yet another alt-army though..

(Shadowknight: Uhmono| Inquisitor: Blyssia | Warden: Wysh | Defiler: Gahealju | Troubador: Moxia | Warlock: Phyrloc) X 51
(Guardian: Tukilu | Templar: Ajechu | Warden: Fayanna | Conjuror: Akaesia | Troubador: Lollah | Warlock: Onona) X 27-ish[/align]

I'm going to be starting out with the team I'm currently playing:
    Paladin and 4 Elemental Shamans.

I finally settled on a secondary team: (might become my primary team if I like it enough)
Death Knight, Druid, Mage, Warlock, Shaman

I'm going to level my 4 shamans up first. Then maybe 4 DK's or just level my other 2 box groups to 80. Figure having 3 groups at 80 doing the dailies will be crap loads of gold per day.

I have a similar problem to the original poster.

I have a 5x Mage team, and I need to introduce a tank for instances in Wrath.
I'm thinking either a Prot Warrior or a Prot Pally. Hrm...

Have you tried 4 hunters and feral druid. you the 5 percent buff to crit for pets and hunters is much better than paladin in my playing. make druid your main and let the pets tank you have fun works great.

With RAF, I've been able to level up 4 teams, just started my fifth last night

First team: Horde Paly + Sham (2) + Druid

Second team: Horde Paly + Mage (2) + Priest

    Third team: Alliance Shammy (4)

Forth team: Horde Shammy (2) + Druid + Rogue (on same server as second team)

Fifth and current team: Alliance Paly + Mage (2) + Druid (same server as third team)

I wanted to be sure that I had a tank on each server I leveled up a RAF team, just in case. If I have enough time by Dec 8th, I may work on a warlock and/or hunter team but tanks were definitely a priority, I'll probably gift levels to a warrior as well.

i made the mistake of takin a break then draggin my ass when i returned with BC and was almost 1 1/2 years later before i finally hit 70. i wont make that mistake again.
